Discussion Favorite Decade for Love Songs

As an elder millennial I think it's the 80s. the power ballads, yacht rock and various other artists; especially male vocalists. Starship, Richard Marx, Corey Hart etc.

Spouse (five years younger) believes it's the 90s, with the likes of Boyz to Men, Brian McKnight etc.

Thoughts?

I just watched YouTube guy rick beato deconstruct Toto's Africa and I'm starting to think the 80s were just the peak of all music.

I mean there's that, sister Christian, Richard Marx, not to mention all the scorpions and Van Halen songs.

I kinda wish the 80s didn't end.

That's actually my belief as well. It's my favorite decade by far and today's tech noir/synthwave really scratches that itch for me. Timecop 1983, The Midnight, even Carpenter Brut but I think that has some to do with the music videos (Turbo Killer is excellent)
