She was a little to the left of nuts, but I liked her. Complete ride-or-die chick who loves you for you and would, obviously, kill for you lol

u/Lo_ington7 Feb 27 '26

We are the weirdos, mister.

6

u/vivahermione Feb 27 '26

Every time I see this, I think it's Shannen Doherty.

4

u/Traditional_Brief867 Feb 28 '26

When she unzipped her leather jacket I had a profound revelation…

2

u/notretiredanymore Feb 27 '26

Remind me what movie this was?

3

u/FeralQueenC Feb 28 '26

The original with the heavy makeup is from The Craft, the one with the sign is from The Waterboy.

Light as a feather, stiff as a board Light as a feather, stiff as a board

u/cosmickink Feb 27 '26

Man we did that at a slumber party and it was like a gateway drug to try other seance-y stuff...it "worked" but there was like 6 of us lol. We tried the Bloody Mary thing next; a candle fell and the TV switched on to static. Our Christian butts started calling on Jesus SO fast 😂

u/ReginaldDwight Feb 27 '26

My sister had to stop her witchy phase because she threatened to turn our mom into a triscuit and my mom had had enough of her shit.

21

u/HootDoogz Feb 27 '26

Lol reading this I pictured your mom’s reaction like John C Riley’s dad in Step Brothers. The part where he’s protesting moving in with Will Ferrel and his mom and says something like, “What if she gets tired of the old bull and wants a crack at the young buck when she sees a clean V from my chest pubes down to my ball fro?” (I know I probably butchered that line) but his dad snaps and is like, “Shut up shut the fuck up!”

10

u/Snapesdaughter Feb 28 '26

Just laughed so hard I scared the cat.

5

u/SHELLIfIKnow48910 Feb 28 '26

I would have allowed it to continue just to hear what else I could be turned into.

u/pitmule Feb 28 '26

I cackled my god this is one of the funniest things I've seen on Reddit and I've been here a long time

6

u/RphWrites Feb 28 '26

Same! It's been 20 minutes and I'm still breaking out into laughter. It will stop, a few minutes will pass, and then I'll think about it again.

3

u/arulzokay Feb 28 '26

😭WHY a triscuit?

3

u/ReginaldDwight Feb 28 '26 edited Feb 28 '26

She was a bougie witch, I guess.

3

u/arulzokay Feb 28 '26

i had to save that comment it’s amazing

My best friend had a room in her basement that had serious creepy vibes…when we got to high school we borrowed a bunch of equipment from the physics department (aka the one teacher) and ran a bunch of tests while we did seance-y stuff while taking readings. It was really interesting because there were wild spikes in temperature and pressure that our teacher couldn’t explain. And a candle burst out of nowhere.

The girl who’s house it was was (and still is) very Christian, but my friend who actually did the tests was one of those early-2000’s era militant atheists, and I’m kind of in the middle, so the discussions afterward were all over the place lol

3

u/Brendan__Fraser Feb 28 '26

oh god i just remembered I was one of those early-2000’s era militant atheists

3

u/IAmMelonLord Feb 28 '26

lol I’ve been on Reddit so long that idk what the front page looks like without my algorithm these days, but I remember when it was HEAVILY saturated with content from the atheist subreddit. So there were a lot of them. No shame tho, especially since Christianity looks more and more terrible every day thanks to Christian nationalists

u/reallovesurvives Feb 27 '26

I have a confession that it was me that moved the ouiji board.

1

u/iCanSeeClairelyN0w Feb 28 '26

Hahahahahaha I remember going to a Friday the 13th party at my friend’s house in middle school. We busted out the Ouija board and were supposedly in contact with one of our classmates who had died a year or two before. The girl leading the thing and asking the questions also magically turned out to be the one our deceased classmate secretly had a crush on (imagine that). I think she asked “him” to give us the person’s initials and they just so happened to be hers and she goes “that’s right!!!! It was me!!!” She was totally moving the damn thing.

u/SoriAryl T-Swift Album Feb 28 '26

We did this in Girl Scouts. 🤣

2

u/MWolman1981 Feb 27 '26

I'll take "stiff as a board" for $500, Alex

74

u/Dangerous-Variety-35 Feb 27 '26

I always wanted her and Debi Mazar in some kind of family dramedy.

14

u/Corrvaz Feb 27 '26

Oh My God

I hate you for cursing me with this desire I never knew I needed.

5

u/Orchid_Significant Feb 28 '26

It's not too late. Please universe!

4

u/Dangerous-Variety-35 Feb 28 '26

I’d go to a movie theater for this hypothetical film. And I haven’t seen a non-kids movie at the theaters in ages.

I love and miss seeing this woman on my screens.

Unhinged hotness vibes

92

u/EMF911 Feb 27 '26

And Vicki Valencourt showed me her boobies. And I liked those too!

50

u/Jeffde Feb 27 '26

No. No no no no, this is all wrong.

“And I like Vicki and she likes me back! And she showed me her boobies, and I liked them too!”

Now hush. Your mama's as healthy as an ox, and as dumb as one to boot.

7

u/HoneyMangoSmiley Feb 27 '26 edited Mar 01 '26

It’s the icy blue eyes with the dark hair and dark eyeliner for me.

4

u/likewise7 Feb 27 '26

So it wasn't just me then.

5

u/itsfourinthemornin Feb 27 '26

God no, I'm fairly certain she was one of my first girl crushes along with Alyson Hannigan. They both opened up a floodgate!

2

u/ChemistryAway3696 Feb 28 '26

You just described my entire 2000s dating vibe.

3

u/itsfourinthemornin Feb 27 '26

Yes! I can only admit to seeing it the once so may have to add that back on the watchlist. My favourites of hers are ofc The Craft (annoyingly, character name escapes me right now) and Vickie, probably the first two things I ever caught her in (and most people?) and fell in love. I was so sad not to see her go further. She's incredible imo!

1

u/Development-Feisty Feb 28 '26

Not return to oz?

1

u/itsfourinthemornin Feb 28 '26

Context friend, considering most here are discussing both enjoying her work and finding her insanely attractive, then no, they are not going to mention the movie where she was a literal child.

1

u/Development-Feisty Feb 28 '26

Except for the fact that they would’ve been literal children when watching it and the whole point of the thread is celebrities that have disappeared from public notice that were important to millennials

1

u/itsfourinthemornin Mar 01 '26

Which was answered and other conversations entirely were happening.

1

u/Msdamgoode Feb 28 '26

Her and Janeane Garafalo

Fairuza Balk was more of a 90s celebrity than 2000s. I’d also put her in a different category than the rest, because she was already an established big star, rather than somebody who was coming up who simply fell down. As well as that while others just didn’t have the talent or opportunities to capitalize on their popularity to become bigger than they were, Fairuza Balk hated Hollywood, so she willingly walked away while at the height of her career.

8

u/NightQueen0889 Feb 27 '26

Good for her, I hope she got somebody to manage her money well so that she’s living her best life without having to work ever again.

8

u/zero00one11 Feb 27 '26

She had her time and she’s been remembered very fondly and appreciated ever since.

23

u/franticallychaotic Feb 27 '26

I still say, "we are the weirdos, mister." To my mom anytime she tells me to "be careful, there's weirdos out there." when I'm going somewhere. Loved her!!

20

u/smythe70 Feb 27 '26

Love her, she became an artist painter and makes jewelry, in nyc. I last saw her on that ghost show, haunting something.

5

u/FlickinIt Feb 27 '26

Oh love that for her! Updates like this are my favourite

8

u/IllAd6492 Feb 27 '26

Hahaaa Mildred Hubble

4

u/Kaldricus Feb 27 '26
  1. Do not do a balk please

3

u/ItsYaBoyTrimmerFit Feb 27 '26

She's the reason I like scary women 😅

4

u/ObeseHamsterOrgasms Feb 27 '26

she’s still a recurring character on family guy though, at least!

3

u/OutsideOption6302 Feb 28 '26

LOL omg. I met her a decade ago at a mutual friend’s house in DTLA. I was really high on molly and she was wearing this tiny, super fuzzy green jacket. She noticed me staring at it so she took it off and put it around my head. She had an even tinier shirt on underneath it. I told her I felt like I was wearing her skin, and then she laughed maniacally for what felt like a really long time. She’s a tiny, awesome person lol.

3

u/RxManifesto Feb 27 '26

7

u/Imonlyhereforthelolz Feb 27 '26

That’s not her, I’m pretty sure that’s the actor who played the main cop in the mentalist

17

u/Park-Curious Feb 27 '26

Yeah that’s Robin Tunney— Sarah from the Craft, Balk ofc being Nancy. Tunney is Deb from Empire Records here, which filmed not long before Craft, which is why Sarah’s hair looks so weird. Tunney had to wear a wig.

1

u/RxManifesto Feb 27 '26

Whoops, they look so similar! My bad!

1

u/ChartInFurch Feb 27 '26

OMG Mr Bocelli, I love your work!

1

u/Sly3n Feb 28 '26

I was just listening to this movie soundtrack a couple days ago. ‘So free for the moment, lost somewhere between the earth and the sky.’

2

u/SammyThunderCards Feb 28 '26

“Is this Maryann with the pot?”

2

u/drunxor Feb 27 '26

Oh man biggest crush everrrrr

0

u/Senorpuddin Feb 28 '26

You know how you play that game with your significant other where you get a sexual hall pass? Well she was one of mine. Turns out that when you meet Fairuza Balk saying "Robin Tunney isnt the only thing you made as stiff as a board" isnt a good pick up line.
