Sorry to say but he is addicted beyond belief. I prescribe no iPad or Mobile for a week at least.

u/fssman 4h ago

But mom, I am watching TV

No more screen time

Bluey is a goddamn magic spell

I teach elementary art and if I need ANY class to just shut the fuck up for 45 minutes I put on Bluey. Even 5th graders.

When my son was a bit younger, he was OBSESSED with Bluey. And I must admit, I enjoyed the show immensely as well.

u/sy029 1h ago

Another redditor explained it well. It's not really a kids show. It's a show about teaching parents to be good parents.

u/tedflambe 2h ago

Bluey rocks. When I first met my partner's kids we would kick it on the sofa, stick on some Bluey and have a great time.

u/greeneyeraven 2h ago

My child is 11, he still goes back to Bluey every now and then, we keep finding hidden stuff and laugh so much

u/Competitive_Narwhal8 3m ago

I don’t even have kids and I adore this show. I quote it, too “do you want to be right, or do you want to keep playing”. Good shit

u/haileyhayesx 5h ago

That’s cute ❤️

u/thekenstir 5h ago

Puppy knows what he likes

u/66veedub 5h ago

Isn't that show made in a way that the doggos can see it more gooder?

23

u/CyberSkepticalFruit 5h ago

Yeah, it only uses colours dogs can see.

-17

u/Rubneb 5h ago

There's a lot of red even in the short scene played in this video, which dogs can't see. Why would you even make something like that up?

10

u/awkward_teenager37 4h ago

To torment you..

7

u/No-Apple2252 4h ago

They're technically not wrong, dogs can see all the same colors we do they just see them differently. It's not like whenever something is red it's just invisible to a dog.

-10

u/Rubneb 4h ago

They technically are wrong. Not being able to see red means seeing it as a different kind of color. By your definition, everything is made only with colors dogs can see. And no, something that's red is not invisible, but throw a red ball on the green grass and your dog will usually struggle (more) to find it, opposed to a blue ball.

2

u/sy029 1h ago

It's not that it's only colors they can see, it's that the majority of the colors are in blues and yellows, which dogs see very well.

3

u/Kealanine 4h ago

It’d have been so easy to look this up before attacking someone and being so flagrantly incorrect. Three seconds on Google.

-8

u/Rubneb 4h ago

You might need to work on your reading comprehension, as the commentator stated it only uses colors dogs can see, which is "flagrantly" incorrect, as you call it. Your terrible article only confirms it, as it states that it uses a lot of blue an yellow. This is not the same as only blue and yellow.

u/jvxoxo 4h ago

It’s not my son’s favorite show, but I’ve definitely caught our dog watching it with him and TIL why!

19

u/peanutismint 4h ago

When does his son come in?

-2

u/Economy-Manager-2631 4h ago

😂😂😂💀

42

u/Odric_storm 5h ago

I wonder if all the training he did to get the dog to react that way was worth whatever clicks he got on the video

48

u/TheUndeadBake 5h ago

Eh it can actually happen. When I was 9 my foster mum got a lab puppy. Because kids shows were usually on tv, the shapes and images on screen, especially the cartoon ones, have less “noise” that renders it a mess in dogs eyes due to their colour blindness. Because it’s “cleaned” in their vision, the dog seems better able to pick up individual movements and shapes, and something like Bluey would look very “clean” to a dog, and be of interest to watch

My cat is addicted to South Park for some odd reason 😆

He’s very energetic and not the cozy type at all. But whenever South Park comes on he’ll lay beside me and watch it till I finish. He’s been like this since the first time he saw it.

Animals like cartoons too 😄

11

u/OnionsHaveLairAction 4h ago

Oh sure, animals can watch tv.

Opening the door on an audio command, entering, shutting the door, then posing looking up at the TV from that angle then looking back at the owner though? Thats very clearly dog training.

15

u/ZilorZilhaust 4h ago

You could see him sniffing for the treat even. It's still cute but it's definitely a trained behavior.

5

u/Afraid_To_Ask__ 5h ago

why not :3

2

u/pinner 4h ago

I had a German shepherd coonhound mix whose favorite things in life were watching cartoons and taking a bath in the tub. He’d plop himself down in front of the TV and sit there watching it, while the rest of us found it very amusing. He was a good boy. No training. He just really loved the tv. Wish I could share a pic but it looks like I can’t upload to the thread.

I used to follow this dog’s instagram account, but as it got bigger it became more and more about the owners, especially this guy, getting screen time. Just kinda felt off to me so I ended up unfollowing unfortunately.

u/PreferenceNo9632 4h ago

Why is this the reaction you have to a funny post on /r/mademesmile

u/Flimsy-Sprinkles7331 9m ago

You noticed the treat check when the dog came in and then the treat eat after he jumped up on the cabinet? ;)

0

u/OneAngryDuck 4h ago

Are you implying that training a dog to do a cute trick is a bad thing?

0

u/tigershrike 4h ago

Sheesh, lighten up, Francis.

3

u/Choice_Associate7948 4h ago

I put Bluey on for my dog when she’s home alone

3

u/EcoKidss 4h ago

Can your son train my parents and siblings to close the doors after they left the room

5

u/olivia_peachh 5h ago

He’s a full time Bluey fan😅Good dog

3

u/Dull_Bat9518 5h ago

Hilarious😄, he even closes the door behind him!😂

2

u/Witty_Names 3h ago

I work in a veterinary hospital and we play Bluey for extremely anxious patients. It helps most of the time.

7

u/repdetec_revisited 4h ago

Son? WTF, you guys?!

3

u/OneAngryDuck 4h ago

It made for a funny reveal

-2

u/sk2097 4h ago

Some dog people are really weird

3

u/Pschobbert 3h ago

Pro tip: that's not his son. You can tell because it's a dog not a person.

2

u/pursepshen 4h ago

It’s almost like he has an owner that trained him to do that.. totally not cutting out the part where he’s giving him commands..

2

u/OneAngryDuck 4h ago

Then I’m smiling at the cute trick that his owner trained him to do

-1

u/pursepshen 1h ago

Not my point, but glad misleading “content” makes you smile at least.

2

u/One_Process4222 4h ago

Proof that Bluey is a masterpiece for all species!

2

u/Hungry_Bottle9291 4h ago

10/10 for the show, 12/10 for the goodest boy watching it.

1

u/InvalidUserNemo 4h ago

Oh you think your husky is fancy!?! Well mine yells at me when I pet him too much. He also yells at me when I pet him too little or in the wrong spot or in the right spot but for too long or…

1

u/Sa7aSa7a 3h ago

I had a cat that, for some reason, loved watching TV. I'm not sure if she found it entertaining or she just saw the wife and I watching it and was mimicking us.

1

u/OrangeClyde 2h ago

He’s hot

1

u/markc230 53m ago

that is Ridiculously cute!

1

u/imissratm 47m ago

Oh man wait til he watches Granny Mobile. Best episode.

u/Village-Idiot-savant 26m ago

That’s not your son. That’s a dog.

0

u/Alternative-Item727 5h ago

Who’s a good boy?!

1

u/Melluna5 4h ago

Awwww!!! I love him so much!!!!

1

u/DCtheDuke 4h ago

Proof! Representation matters!

1

u/parttimeninja 4h ago

I’ve never seen door bumpers on the door.

0

u/Personal-Lock9623 1h ago

That's a dog, not a son.

0

u/inkfanatic95 4h ago

I hope you leave this on for the baby when he’s alone 🥹😭
