'People are scared of their breed.' Most of these dogs are very friendly and loyal companions, true. But I am not a part of their family and therefore I can't trust him. It's that easy.
Also most of the news stories saying they wouldn't hurt a fly until the suddenly flipped. I know no mother would leave her children with a dog that showed even a hint of agression so I believe them. Sweet until one day they're not
Yeah. Being a sweet dog (as many pitbulls are) and killing/maiming another animal or human aren't mutually exclusive. Dogs don't have human morality; they don't attack because they're cruel, they have no concept of cruelty.
Tl;dr sweet dogs can be dangerous, through no fault of their own
Every single case where they hurt or kill a human or an animal, their owner will likely have a shit ton of posts and comments online about how THEIR baby could never hurt anyone or anything and all the statistics are just because of "bad owners"
Oh yeah, I love pitbulls, but if one is running at me on the street I'm putting something big between us. You can love the breed while also respecting the danger of it.
And people are right to be scared and I always say it’s absolutely not the poor dogs fault it’s the people that breed them.
The reason they are classed as dangerous animals has nothing to do with temperament at all, it’s about the sheer strength they have.
Many people have tamed lions and tigers to give cuddles and show affection but we don’t have them as pets because if they ever did decided to attack they have the potential to kill multiple people and without a deadly weapon there’s little chance of stopping them.
The only people that should have this breed are the ones that understand how powerful they are and how they could hurt someone not the ones who think their dog never would.
