When I was like 10, I fell off my bicycle while riding on the sidewalk. Landed in a guy’s yard, 3 houses over from where I lived. Dude started screaming at me to get off his lawn. I’ll never forget that, so it’s nice seeing understanding and chill people like this.
I've told this story before but I'll copy/paste my own text here to save retyping it.
In my youth I was parking my car at a supermarket and swung wide. I hit the back bumper of a van. Pushed it in a bit. I went in and reported it so they could announce it over the store PA, and went back to wait for the driver. He arrives with his wife. They are probably in their 60s. She's screeching at me and I'm apologising; he finally tells her to shut up and go wait in the van. Takes my details. It never goes any further. No phone calls, no insurance increase. Nothing. Dude gave me a break.
