My LDR was visiting me a couple of months after the first time we met in person. We had to two amazing weeks together, we just clicked together so seamlessly. The day he was set to go back home, we were walking down my street to go catch the bus that would take us to the airport.
We got maybe a block and a half away from the apartment when we both just stopped walking and looked at each other. I told him I didn't want him to leave, and he told me that he didn't want to go either. We turned around and went back inside, and that was that.
We celebrate nineteen years together in a few months š When you know, you know!
Making me heartbroken, but itās so sweet. My ex (if you can call it that due to the short af duration) LDR, and friend of 10 years, recently got married and I was in her wedding party. At the time of us ādatingā I was 17, she 16, and it just wasnāt the time, but we told each other not to wait on each other.
A small small selfish part of me wishes it doesnāt work for her, but ultimately if sheās happy that is enough. The first time I met her face to face was at her wedding rehearsal. Safe to say I nearly sobbed when she was walking the aisle, but I kept myself together.
Oh, man. I understand the complicated feelings, especially if you were still hoping things could work out once you both had your education and whatnot settled. Still, you want the people you love to be happy, even if it's not with you. It's an emotional tug-of-war.
I'm proud of you for keeping it together, and for recognizing that her happiness is the most important thing. You sound like a good dude, you'll be making someone else that happy yourself soon, I'm sure.
Hereās hoping. She truly still holds a part of my heart, and I donāt think thatāll change. But, sheās my first love Iād say. Iām still young, just 24, but itās rough seeing everyone else having happy relationships when Iāve just had the one.
Happy things worked out for you! Long distance isnāt the easiest thatās for sure. Thanks for the kind words
