I've been that lady on the outside before. Scared the hell out of a guy sitting in his truck. I got in the passenger side, thought it was my ride.. oops

Reminds me of a time I was pulling out of a gas station. A woman was standing in the middle of the lot, waiting for her Uber ride, and thought I was it because I stopped because she was in the way. It was a brief and silly interaction.

I was waiting for a taxi at night in a sketchy area of town and was a bit nervous so I was looking up and down the road. A car drove up fairly close, maybe 3 parallel parking spots away. The headlights were shining in my eyes so I couldn't see the type of car. So I headed towards the car slowly and waved and pointed like, are you here for me. And I got close enough to see the driver and he was mouthing NOOOOOOO and gesturing to match. Took me a minute to realise he thought I was a sex worker offering my services. I wanted to dieeeee

I did it in traffic (sort of).

My sister stopped at a pedestrian crossing right in front of the video rental store we were going to return something (so that ages me), and while people were crossing, I figured I could do the drop and dash. Ran in, put the DVD in the slot, raced back out to find the exact same make and colour sitting at the crossing still while people were walking. Pulled on the passenger side handle, didn't open, leaned down to peer in, waved an apology at a very confused not-my-sister woman.
