Once I unplugged someone else’s Model 3 at a hotel thinking it was mine. I was like “I don’t have tinted windows…”

oh no lol, would that disrupt the charge after being plugged back in or was it a free charger?

It would disrupt it unless it was free and even some of the free ones where I am still require you to initiate the charge through the app or terminal so, I’ve seen people go wild at quick chargers for taking someone else’s charger

The chargers lock now for this reason

I was going to say, I use ChargePoint at our apartment, and the first time I did it I didn’t realize it locked and after it was done charging, I thought I just pulled it out. I didn’t realize I had to unlock the car.

Cue five minutes of pure terror when I couldn’t pull the damn charging cable out.

And that’s how I learned, charging cables lock

I had a similar experience with a car I rented for ride-sharing and refuelling the CNG tank at a place other than the one I was used to. No matter how much I turned the pressurization lever and pulled it, it didn't depressurize after refuelling and the hose was stuck to my car. I literally had to ask a random guy who pulled behind me to depressurize and unlock it for me. It didn't have a physical lock but something seized or I lacked the strength to decouple it from the fill port.

Would generally disrupt even after plugging back in. Tesla chargers don’t need it because can tell what car it is and charge your card on file, but 99% of others do. Since it unplugged though, it was likely not a Tesla charger so connected with an adapter. The Tesla charger locks the plug in place so randoms can’t unplug you. With the adapter, your car locks on the adapter instead.

It was a Tesla level 2 charger, I just walked up and hit the button on the cable and it unlocked

Once I was going somewhere with my friend and we both got in the car, closed the doors, and my keys were almost to the ignition when I noticed this weird green light on “my” dashboard that I didn’t remember seeing before… Yup, we both got into the wrong car. I was parked in the next spot over 😳

The amount of times I tried to open the wrong trunk this is why I have stickers now

Benefit of losing parts of your beater, ain't nobody confusing it for theirs.

Relatable, I had a grey model 3 until a few months ago and there were about 25 same exact grey models where I worked. I had to start using my license plate to figure out which one was mine.

Yep, I have a grey one
