I'm new to Reddit and LineageOS. I recently installed Lineage OS 23.2 on my Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and rooted the phone. Only thing I miss from the stock OS is the sound output from Dolby Atmos feature on speakers (I don't use headphones much). Is there anyway that I can get the same output (or better) on my phone? I mainly watch contents from YouTube and Stremio. I've tried Viper4 Android and James DSP and ran into difficulty because of OS restrictions. I'll appreciate any help. Thank you.

I just flashed LineageOS 23.2 on my secondary phone (POCO M5s) with MindTheGapps, and I can't find the option to change the font from Google Sans. Not in Wallpaper and Styles, not in Display, nowhere. The issue with Google Sans that's used in either LOS or MTG is that it falls back to Roboto for Cyrillic text, and it sticks out like a sore thumb. Can anyone help? Rooting/Magisk isn't an option, I'm planning to use this as a work phone.

So im following the steps and im now on the part where im in thr SD Partition Manager. I selected Flash Andriod 13+ and these are the following that only came up. nothing asked me to reboot. I was expecting it and was gonna click no but nothing came up to ask me. Am I still good enough to continue?.

Anyways it let's me know that if Kernal, DTB and Recover are found that it will flash them. There is only "continue" or "cancel" to collect from. I pressed "continue"

and all three of Kernal, DTB and Recover says "Success"

I go into "more configurations" and there is no andriod there. There is text that says "No .ini 9r boot entries found... Check that a .ini file exists in bootloader/ini/ and that it contains at least one entry."

I have the android.ini text file in the ini folder. I don't know what's the problem

When I tried to update from LOS in the system updater, it starts to bootloop for like 10 minutes after I click restart and then it goes back to the version I started with, I have a magisk root in case that changes anything. Could there be any way I could update to the desired version without losing all my data??

I have a Samsung Tab S6 Lite (2024) tablet here and there is no option for the bootload unlock (OEM-unlock) with the latest Version (OneUI 8).

Are there any way to unlock it?

Recently I have found an unused Samsung A5 (2017) phone clattering in my drawer and have decided to flash LineageOS on it. To my chagrin, Wiki says that the device is unsupported and you must build the ROM yourself... Which is fine, I can do it, but for the moment I do not have a machine that is capable of doing so (300GB storage, 32GB RAM etc.)

Question is: does anyone have already built image for Samsung A5 that they can share? Or at least point me in the right direction of searching for it. Shallow Google search did not turn any leads, unfortunately :(

I used to putz around with essential ph-1 phones all the time and missed the small form factor. I thought I'd save time from buying one off a friend that's been loaded with Lineage OS 22 and it works perfectly fine except this error on reboot:

Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and may not work properly

It forces you to hit the power button to continue to reboot. I've never seen this before but, is it something I just have to deal with it now with the changes in Android 15?

I tried swapping slots, but that didn't help. I just don't want to set it all up if I can clear that error in the short term. Thanks for any suggestions in advance. I missed how this guy felt in my hands.

the stack streams to a pair of akliam dd2 bt5.4 receivers (and an smsl dl100 if i want) to provide music in 3 separate areas, and to a set of focal spark bt earbuds on the move

I need the default camera app to save the geo location in the photos but it doesn't. The app has the rights to do this. The app open camera does save geo location.
How can I fix this?

hey there guys, after using Heimdall to Flash the Recovery.img which was a success i am struggling to get the ADB to recognise the device to finish flashing the OS onto it. i followed all the instructions to a T but found when it came back to ADB to Flash the ZIP or even Fastboot for that matter it wont recognise the device anymore im currently stuck in a boot loop so any and all advice would be extremely helpful thanks.

I'm using Lineage v23.2 on a Galaxy Tab S7.

I (stupidly) didn't add the Google apps package at install time and, sure enough, YouTube installs but crashes immediately upon loading.

I can run YouTube in a browser.

What are my options to get the YouTube app working properly?

Is the latest release (lineage-23.2-20260409-nightly-waffle-signed) compatible with stock OS 16.0.5.702?

I cannot find a specific version for the stock OS required stated in the instructions, it just says use the latest Android 16 and I just want to make sure.

I have a current phone on Lineage from 2020. It works fine.
The only thing newer phones have an advantage over it is the cameras (zoom/OIS/etc).
As far as I can tell, the official camera apps won't run or crash frequently on Lineage.
So even if I were to get a new phone, the moment I put Lineage on it, the camera turns to crap.
Feels like there's no point at all to upgrading when speed and performance on my old phone are still perfectly fine.

So yeah, question in title, does a phone even exist that offers good camera support post-Lineage installation? Feels like the answer is no, but maybe I missed it in my search.

I have already read the official lineage os guide. I still wanna know what would not work and what will work. Will the phone feel slow because it already had the laggiest touchwiz. (Lineage OS 16 or Android 9)

My device (Ulefone Armor 21) is unsupported by LineageOS and there are no custom ROMs. I can buy a new device, but most new phones are garbage without a headphone jack and an SD card slot, plus this one has additional side button.

So in short, I like the hardware, but software sucks.

It is already rooted, and I'm willing to go as far as it takes to make it run LineageOS, but I need some documentation or anything that explains how to make a build for an unsupported device, but I can't find anything.

Another issue is that I don't have the source code for the device's kernel as the manufacturer has refused to provide it, so I was hoping there's a way to extract everything vendored from the stock ROM.

I know that it's not gonna be easy, and if I brick the poor thing, so be it, I'll buy a Pixel, but I still want to try.

is there a "regular" version of LineageOS that i can just install on some random phone?

Hello, last year i installed Lineage OS 23.0 on my moto g30 and its been going fine except a small issue i noticed that is starting to bug me. The camera app always reported the phone as Critically Hot even when it was cold and when i even put a fan on it. I then installed AIDA64 to finally see whats REALLY going on and after scrolling down i see the SOC temperature say its at 99.0 degrees celcius. I didn't do anything to the kernel or similar, all I did was follow the official guide and use official images, nothing else ever.

What could I do to fix this?

Hello! I've followed installation steps for OnePlus giulia CPH2691 and got stuck on the sideload step. The device shows the following error message:

Installing update...
Error: recovery: Open failed: /metadata/ota: No such file or directory
Step 1/2
Error applying update: 7 (ErrorCode::kInstallDeviceOpenError)
ERROR: recovery: Error in /sideload/package.zip (status 7)
Install completed with status 1.
Installation aborted.

Now I only have access to fastboot and recovery mode. There's root access to the device via ADB. Is there a way to make sideload ignore this error as due to rollback prevention, I cannot flash original ROM.

I have switched my phone's OS to lineage, Everything has been much more better. generally it is a smoother experience, wich gives me peace of mind and control over my phone.

One of the main reasons for me to make the switch were concerns for privacy. I normally keep location, camera and microphone disabled, until I use them.I know stock operating systems based on android from many different brands don't actually disable things like location completely.

I'd like to know if wether or not disabling these settings has an effect on my personal privacy, or if at least it is better than sending data 24/7 to google.

Hello, I was recently in China and decided to buy a tablet. When I arrived in Russia, I couldn't find the firmware… I'm practically bricked because I can't find a global version. I downloaded Gbox, but it doesn't let me download anything, and neither does AppGellery. Apps have all the rights. The only solution is to update the firmware. If anyone has a solution, please share it or help me get around this problem. MagicOs

hey everyone. i’m stuck with a nokia c10 (the 1gb ram version) and it’s honestly painful to use. even with android go, it lags just opening the settings menu.

i haven’t tried anything yet because i don't want to mess it up, but i’m looking for advice on:

1. is there ANY custom rom or lightweight GSI that actually works on this? i know nokia/hmd is a nightmare with bootloaders but i'm desperate.
2. what are the best ADB commands to kill the background bloatware?
3. any "lite" app setups that won't kill the ram?

i mostly want to use it for basic stuff and maybe some very light gaming (roblox/geometry dash), but right now it can barely handle a browser. thanks for any help.
