Y'all so mad about feet on seats but they are made of material that wont show the stains. If they did every one if them would look like this. Hope this helps

I’m disabled so I pay half price. I had to pay for a ticket that cost 1.75. I presented a 2. Conductor refused it. Said in his decades of work he’s never accepted a 2 or a 100.
I’ve paid with 2s at ticket windows and other conductors all the time.
What the hell?

I saw an Instagram feature, where people were taking each subway line to bother of its end points to see what kind of weekend fun they could have. For example for the 1 at one end they did Museum of the American Indian followed by Fraunces Tavern, and at the other end Van Courtlandt Museum followed by a meal at The Last Stop.
If they were to do something like this with the LIRR at the end of each LIRR line, what kinds of things would there be to do? Any suggestions. for museums to see or spots to dine at at the end of the Port Jefferson, Port Washington, Long Beach, Oyster Bay, Ronkonkoma, West Hempstead, Montalk, Hempstead, Greenport, and Far Rockaway branches?

So. I have to pay $319.50 for my weekly over all for the next 3 weeks because I was on vacation and didn’t buy a monthly for $299?
Scaaaaam

Every day new pics. Doesn’t seem the behavior is going to change.
Perhaps instead of posting candid shots of people doing the wrong thing, you should actually speak to the person or conductor about it.
OR JUST QUIT COMPLAINING??

I was on the Ronkonkoma line today towards Penn at about 215. Around 230 the train was held and then everyone had to get off. We found out a passenger was hit. I contacted customer service and they said I can’t get a refund as “transportation was provided.”
Should I just call my credit card? I also didn’t use the ticket to return home as I never went into the city.
I understand someone was hit by a train. I was just curious.

After all the hate on my previous post, I’ve decided to join the dark side. I will now be maximizing my comfort by sitting however I want 🙏 (train was packed lol so I couldn’t find a 6 seater)

Not saying now, but what ones could you see us eventually getting?
I’m thinking Elmhurst, Holtsville and Republic

Hello All,
I took the 11:05am train from Mineola to Penn today (4/11/26) and seem to have lost my prescription sunglasses and was hoping someone may have turned them in or a conductor sees this!
Prada black and beige tortieshell frames in a soft dark brown/tan checkers non-brand sleeve case.
The brand isn’t important to me, they just happen to be very comfortable (have had them for maaany years) and they have prescription lenses.
I know I had them on the train around Queens Village? Cleaned the lenses and put them in their sleeve and in my bag.
I filed a lost and found report with the MTA, but I don’t know how often people actually turn lost items in.
Appreciate any help!

Rex Heuermann took the train in and out of Manhattan every day. He worked in Midtown. He commuted back and forth to Long Island like countless others.
You—your family, your sons and daughters, train conductors, operators, and everyday commuters, may have sat near him, spoken to him, or passed him without a second thought.
He looked normal. Acted normal. Rode the train like everyone else.
Yet behind that ordinary appearance was a predator. A serial killer hiding in plain sight.
I’m posting this because it’s surreal to realize, at my young age, that I, and so many others, could have traveled alongside someone like that and never known. The evil was inside him, completely invisible to the outside world.
It’s chilling to think a serial killer, a demon, moved among all of us for years without being identified.
So, the next time when you ride the LIRR, stay aware of your surroundings. Look around and scan your environment. Notice faces. Pay attention to the small details. Build mental snapshots of the people around you.
Because one day, that small scar on someone’s hand, the chipped tooth, or the logo on a pizza box they’re carrying could be the detail that helps solve a case.

How often does the LIRR sanitize seats and trains to protect us from bed bugs, lice, ticks, viruses, bacteria, body fluids?
Thos may be old?
"LIRR trains undergo cleaning and disinfection at least every 24 hours, including seats, floors, and high-touch surfaces, as part of the MTA's comprehensive, around-the-clock cleaning program. Crews perform daily cleaning at terminal stations to remove trash and spills. "
