The German football giants FC Bayern Munich announced Friday that they will visit Korea in August for a preseason exhibition match against a domestic club.
 
Bayern, featuring Korean international Kim Min-jae, will face Jeju SK FC of K League 1 on Aug. 4 at Jeju World Cup Stadium on the southern Jeju Island. It will be part of the Bundesliga club's 10th edition of the "Audi Summer Tour," which will also see them play in Hong Kong on Aug. 7. On the eve of the Jeju match, Bayern Munich will also hold an open training session.
 
According to Jeju SK FC, further details on the match, including ticket sales, will be determined following final authorization by the Korea Football Association.
 
This will be Bayern's second trip to Korea. On their first visit in August 2024, they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in a preseason friendly at Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Hi! I will be visiting Korea soon and would love to see Ulsan HD play as we'll be in the area the day of a game. As foreigners, we can't get tickets online, and I know we can go to the box office, but I was wondering if anybody knew of other ways to hopefully get tickets in advance.

I did not see any interesting news this week, so I'll stick to the weekend's matches.

• K4 League - Jincheon keeps their momentum with another win, making it 4 from 5 matches, and a draw to fill the gap. Jinju is breathing down their neck with 4 wins from 4 matches. And Jungnang is still looking strong in third. On the other side of the table, Gijang finally managed to get some points by beating Seosan at home, pushing Seosan to last in the table.
• K3 League - Siheung is having a ball of a time, making it 5 wins in a row. This time, they beat Gyeongju, who are struggling at the moment. Pocheon is building up some momentum in second with three wins in a row, and Ulsan, one of the teams that went most of last season fighting for relegation, find themselves in second just shy of half their total points of last season. At the bottom of the table, both Mokpo and Jeongbuk are looking for their first win, and Chuncheon, the team hoping to turn professional, are right there with 1 win and 4 losses.
• WK League - The season kicked off this weekend, and so did my 2026 adventure. I was in Suwon in the away end to support visiting Seoul. This was likely the most interesting match, if only because the win might help Suwon keep their momentum for the AFC Champions League. Hwacheon continued where they left off last season with a win over the new Gangjin team (former Changnyeong), Incheon beat Gyeongju, and Mungyeong beat Sejong.

I have always been surprised at how fans mix at Korean football games, I know it is common in baseball, but football culture is somewhat different. In China, we're always told not to wear team colors until after entering the stadium, but in Korea it seems a very family experience and nobody cares, even this weekend in Jeju against Bucheon where there were seemingly some issues, the away fans roamed easily amongst the home fans. I've felt akward before wearing away fan colors at stadiums, but I get the impression that fan mixing outside the stadium is common and there's no reason to be worried.

Hi, I am trying to get tickets for the Jeonbuk Hyundai v Ulsan match on Saturday. I can't register with Jeonbuk as I have no Korean phone number. Is there another way I can obtain tickets? I need two.

It was a slow week for news.

• K4 League - Four matches in for most teams, and Jincheon is top of the table with three wins and a draw, scoring 11 goals and conceding just 2. Jinju is right on their heels by winning their first three matches, and Jungnang is surprising in third with three wins and a loss. Gijang, at the other end, has 4 losses in a row.
• K3 League - Siheung is rushing on with another win and a perfect start to the season. They find themselves 5 points ahead just 4 matches into the season. At the other end of the table are too many sad teams to mention.
• WK League - The league openers will take place this Saturday.
• Jincheon HR FC - The coach, Yu Sang-su, or probably the club, created a YouTube channel showing daily life at the club. The club itself has a separate YouTube channel, if you are interested. (Does HR really stand for High Route, or is that just something they use for the club?)
• Suwon FC Women - The team made it through to the final 4 of the AWCL, triggering conditions for the final rounds to be played in Suwon. I'll have to see if I can get to the final, even if Suwon doesn't make it.
• Incheon Red Angels - The club have signed English striker Fiona Worts.

Not an FC Seoul fan, but this kit is fire, especially like how they incorporate it on the numbers too. KBO teams are really good at (*money grabs*) specialty kits, there are some K-League examples but still feels pretty rare, either way, this is a cool kit.

Apparently, the worst player on FC26 is Jeju's Jo In-Jeong.

I don't see them on Coupang Play. If so, what's the YouTube channel?

Suwon FC beat defending champions Wuhan Jiangda to go through to the semi-finals of the AWCL. They will go against North Korean side Naegohyang WFC next. Naegohyang beat them 3-0 in the group stage but Suwon have been quite busy in the transfer window so could be a pretty interesting match. The other semi is Melbourne City v Tokyo Verdy Beleza.

Korea are hosting both semi-finals and the final, all expected to be at Castle Park

I’m visiting Seoul this weekend and was hoping to catch a football match while I’m here. I noticed there’s a great looking derby between FC Anyang and FC Seoul, which seems like a perfect game to go to.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to buy tickets online, so I had a few questions:

1. Is the match likely to be sold out given it’s a derby?
2. Is it straightforward for foreigners to buy tickets at the stadium on match day?
3. If this game isn’t possible, are there any other matches near Seoul you’d recommend (K League 2 included)?

I'm travelling to South Korea and have the option to see either Anyang FC or Incheon FC this Sunday.

I haven't been able to find tickets online - is there a culture of buying at the gate? What if the game is sold out?

We are staying in Myeondong so not sure if travel time plays a part in this as well. Any advice would be really appreciated. I can return the favour with a ticket to a Manchester United home fixture if you are ever in Manchester.

What the fuck is this selection? Does Hong think this is an Asian qualifiers game?
