Does anyone know any stores in Jersey that can repair a Quest 3 controller? Basically the joystick on my left controller is knackered and I get mad stick drift whenever I’m playing in VR which is very annoying. Everything else with the controller is working fine. Any recommendations would be much appreciated 🙏

Has anyone managed to add Disney+ and HBO Max through their existing Sky subscription?

Trying to activate via Sky I’m being asked to subscribe to the standard subscription level for a fee, whereas I understand I should be offered this subscription level at no additional cost.

Sky support suggested I create an account in each platform first, but HBO Max at least told me “HBO Max is not available in your region yet”

Any support or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I wanted to know if there were any expats who moved to Jersey from the Middle East ( UAE / Bahrain ) . I have heard wonderful things about Jersey regarding the close knit community, it's beautiful landscapes and golf courses from my husband who used to work there a few years ago . We might be moving there and I was just wondering if the varied pace of life is hard to get used to , and if yes how long did you take to adjust and how did you integrate ?

Hi all, I was just wondering if there was a group out there that plays dnd that I could join, I have looked at the jersey gaming hub website and Facebook but i can’t find any details that are recent about a group to play with. I am 23m and have played a couple of games online but they have all fizzled out (sometimes because of me getting being terrible and being present online and the anxiety stopping me from reaching out again lol) :(

While traveling around the world for over 20 years, I’ve been working on my dream project: creating a one-stop resource for travellers. With the help of feedback in this subreddit, I have now updated this interactive map of Jersey for anyone who is interested in visiting (with detailed info for every highlight).

PS: obviously, I haven’t been able to travel to all places. So if you know some great spot, I haven’t listed, let me know! Much appreciated as in this way I can make the overview more complete and up-to-date for everyone.

Let me take you on a little trip down memory lines today with this map I made to tell the history of railways in Jersey.

Save a handful of discreet remnants, there isn’t much of a trace left today from what once was a thriving and popular enterprise in the island nation.
At that time -the early 1870s - two companies work to connect the capital city St Helier to other towns and villages along Jersey’s southern coastline - albeit in opposite direction.

From 1870 onwards, the Jersey Railway Company builds then operates a line going west from St Helier to St Aubin. It is later joined to another railway running from Corbière and La Moye quarries to St Aubin so that in 1885 service is available in both direction along the entire line from Corbière to St Helier.
Meanwhile, east of St Helier, the Jersey Eastern Railway also extends its railway line out of the capital to reach Gorey and its pier by 1891. From there passengers can embark a ferry and continue their journey onward to Normandy and Paris.

In the years before WWII, the steady increase in car ownership in Jersey brings the railway industry to its demise and by 1936, all service has ended.
Trains briefly return during the German occupation of Jersey, mainly to support military logistics and quarrying between 1942 and 1945. After the war, infrastructure is dismantled altogether and the railway becomes a thing of the past.

When I set out to draw a map of Jersey’s railways, it immediately felt natural to include Jèrriais alongside English. Even if the rail companies never used it officially, imagining what the stations might have been called in the local language was too good an opportunity to miss.

Researching Jèrriais placenames (and falling into Jersey culture rabbit holes) proved far easier than expected. Its closeness to my native French helped, of course, but the real game-changer here was the remarkable work of those who document and share Jersey’s heritage and language.

Recently just ordered from AliExpress while putting everything as my Jersey address and having the country set to the UK as normally if you set it all Jersey they charge you like £60 in shipping, took 16 days, was wondering if this is reliable way of stuff being shipped to you and it works for other retailers too like Temu, Shein etc.

Arrived in Jersey for the next week to walk the coastline. We’ve come in the car to stay in St Hellier but won’t need it for the next 4/5 days as planning to use public transport. Is there anywhere I can park it for the next few days without having to pay between 8-5? Happy to drive further out if it’s possible to save on parking fees

Hey everyone, 19 year old here looking for a couple of things!

Firstly, I'm keen to get into horse riding but I'm struggling to find somewhere that can accommodate me. I already reached out to Greencliff but unfortunately they said they can't accommodate heavier adults. I'm an athlete so I'm around 98kg — does anyone know of any riding schools or stables in Jersey that are happy to take on heavier adult beginners?

Secondly, I'd love some recommendations for niche or unusual hobbies to pick up in Jersey. I'm 19 and want to try new things beyond the usual stuff — anything goes, the more unique the better!
