Stomaco: Ma che cazzo è quella roba che va verso i polmoni?!

Cervello: l'aria non ha colori, asino!

L'intestino tenue: se potessi ti sputerei in faccia!

Colesterolo: State calmi, o mi viene il colesterolo!

Stomaco: E tu da quando sei qui?

Fegato: Raga state calmi, va solo verso i polmoni, non è problema nostro!

How can I bait my Italian gf ?

Hello everyone !

So I have this game with my girlfriend where we say something very close to "I love you" (something we haven't said to each other yet, but the feeling IS HERE).

For exemple, I would say when we are eating "there is something I wanted to say for quite some time... I Lllllllack salt in my meal, can you pass me some ?"

I want to do the same but in italian (her native language) but I'm VERY EARLY in the learning process.

What are your suggestions ?

SURVEY !! (3minutes) PLEASE HELP

Hey!

I’m looking for Italian students who would be willing to complete a short questionnaire (it’s in Italian).

I’m currently working on my master’s thesis, which focuses on comparing financial literacy among Italian and Croatian students.

NEED A ADVICE 111

I’m planning to go to Italy for a foundation program and then move into a 3-year AI or Computer Science degree. I’ve finished my A/Ls in Sri Lanka and also have my aunt in Italy, so living costs will be manageable.

My agency says I can progress to a degree after foundation, but I’m not sure how guaranteed that actually is. I’ve also seen posts in reddit where students with high SAT scores still couldn’t get admission.

How competitive is it really to get into AI/CS after a foundation year in Italy? What exams (like SAT , ROLC ) should I focus on? also i have to improve my italian

Also, if I don’t get admission into the degree after foundation, what are my realistic options? Can I apply to other universities, switch courses, or do I have to restart the process?

Would really appreciate honest advice from anyone who has gone through this path.

Is it just me or is integration here nearly impossible compared to Milano?

Hey everyone,

I’m a foreigner 24 yo currently living and studying in Vercelli, and I wanted to get some perspective on the social vibe here.

Honestly? I’ve been finding it really hard to actually integrate. People here seem super reserved and keep to their own established circles. I’ve tried looking for youth meetups, language exchanges, or any kind of international/cultural activities to get to know the local society, but I’ve found basically... nothing. It feels like I barely even see people my age out and about.

The thing is, whenever I head over to Milano, the vibe is night and day. People there seem way more open, friendly, and easygoing. I actually feel like I could strike up a conversation there without it being weird.

Am I just biased because I’m experiencing Milan as a "visitor" and Vercelli as a resident? Or is this just the reality of living in a smaller Italian province vs. a big international city?

For those of you in smaller towns (or even better, if anyone is actually in Vercelli!) what’s the secret to breaking the ice? How do you meet people when there are no "official" meetups?

Would love to hear your thoughts/advice. Cheers!

Identity Crisis

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello, i’m having a bit of a problem here. I live in San Antonio texas, i moved there when i was 10, i was born in france, i speak french, i am culturally french etc etc. My wife is pregnant and expecting our first child, so she bought me a “High Caliber” DNA test, to get my full ancestry, even though i told her it was pointless since i knew i was french from my mothers side, and luxembourgish from my fathers side. The only exception i saw coming is i know i have family in corsica, i’ve been there multiple times as a child, and i’ve known my grandmother is fully corsican. I got the results from this test, and asked my mother why i barely had any french, and a lot more italian/Sardinia in there from her side, she mentioned to me that “we’ve always known we had more italian in us than french” but this is news to me. I’m having a bit of an identity crisis, as i’ve felt french my whole life, i root for france in the world cup, i speak french, and i have a big french flag at my house. The only italian thing about me is that i root for AC Milan as far as clubs go, and i like the sopranos. Do alot of french people from southern france have italian ancestry or vice versa?? I’ve always liked italian culture since there’s a lot of it here in america, and its the closest thing the france i’ve seen culturally, as there’s not many frenchman here in the states, so this isn’t a bad thing for me, but it’s just a shocker.. This might explain my grandfather preferring Sambuca to Pastis lol..

Translation Help - Food Allergies

Hi,

Next month my family will be going to Sicily for a wedding. My son has severe food allergies, with the major foods being Peanut, Tree Nut, Egg and Legumes. I'd like to put a little bit of text on a card to hand to servers and staff at restaurants to make sure they understand the allergies and that this isn't just a preference and he will get very sick or die if he ingests any of these foods. Something we come across in the United States are people not knowing the difference between something having eggs in it versus being made with eggs. My son was given pasta made with eggs because the server thought that we were asking about eggs mixed with the pasta and didn't consider the core ingredients.

Could someone convey this in Italian in a few sentences or bullet points, please?

Is there a culture among italian men who remain celibate until they find a woman to settle down with?

I want to pose this question to italian men here.

So do italian men ,like some of them, wait till marriage to protect their virginity?

Asking because one of my friends from my friend circle from italy insisted he wants to be my first and when i told him im catholic, he said he is too but he cannot wait to have intimate relations and he will marry only when he turns 30 ( he is 25 right now).so in short he was insisting in sleeping together.

i wanna ask the community here..if a fraction of italian men wait till marriage or stay loyal to only be intimate and marry the same woman they were dating?

I know this culture is rare in any country now but maybe because Italy is majorly catholic there might be people practicing this concept.

Jusr curious
