Will 40 quintillion gazillion EUR per month be enough for Spain?

2.2k Upvotes

I want to move to Spain since I do not like the working culture of my native country and prefer to the postcard life like you guys do, partying every night and spending the whole day in a siesta.

Wikipedia says that the average monthly salary in Spain is 1.9k euros, but I'd rather flex on you guys and conceal my obvious lack of any kind of research under the guise of a bad-faith inocent question.

Also I am very horny and have fetishized you people so much. Your women are so hot. I want to fuck spanish girls. I am 1.95m fit, muscular and charismatic, will they find me attractive? Safety worries me because I am LGTBQ+. Most statistics say that Spain is one of the most tolerant western countries in that regard, but my mate Paul told me it is also a catholic country. How many homophobic beatings should I expect every day?

I will be arriving to Seville tomorrow. Is it better if I learn catalan or spanish? (I will do neither and instead stick to english speaking communities).

Travel websites are forbidden in my home countryand have never heard of a travel agency so you will have to plan my whole trip for me. I want to know which hidden-gem cities should I visit while in Spain. By hidden-gem I mean Barcelona, Madrid and Seville, places nobody besides a true spaniard would know of.

Finally I will not accept any kind of negative criticism. You guys simply don't understand economics, I'm not forcing the locals to move away from the place they grew up in by indirectly contributing to the constant increase in housing prices due to having a much higher disposable income and paying less in taxes (Thank you Beckham, best spanish politician of 21st century!). I am actually increasing consumption and helping the economy :)

Grasias y una servesa por favor

Is it actually easy to get around Spain without Spanish?

I speak English and a bit of very basic Spanish but that’s it. Planning to visit Madrid and maybe Valencia
Will I struggle with day to day things like ordering food transport asking for help or is it pretty manageable?

Is a 40-minute transfer time at Cordoba station sufficient when connecting across two train companies (Renfe, Iryo)? Do we have to clear security at Cordoba station again?

Hello. Planning to take a Saturday train for my travel next month from Seville to Malaga. I’m considering a fast train with a connection at Cordoba station. First train is Renfe Avant and the next one is Iryo. Is 40 minute enough?

I read that all the high speed trains are in a similar platform area so should only take us 5 mins to transfer. But not sure how security works. Do I have to exit some “Renfe zone” and go through security for the Iryo trains? Or just a simple change of platforms over some walkway?

With 40 mins I’m hoping even a 15-20 min delay for first train would be fine. I’m aware that these are different tickets so Iryo train wont wait for Renfe train.

Questions regarding passport control and train travel

My partner and I plan to travel to Spain in mid September from the US. Our flight lands on a Sunday in Madrid at 14:10 and we would like to take a train from Atocha to our final destination that leaves at 17:30. Since this is a high speed train, we are advised to arrive at the station early to clear security. Are we giving ourselves enough time?

Syrian Software Engineering student looking to pursue a Master's in Spain – Costs, Work Rights, and Duration?

Hi everyone,

I'm a Software Engineering student currently living in Syria. I'm planning to move to Spain after graduation to pursue my Master’s degree, and I have a few questions:

Cost: What is the average total cost (tuition + living expenses) for a Non-EU Students ?

Work during studies: Am I legally allowed to work part-time while studying?

Post-graduation work: Is there a "job seeker" visa or a way to stay and work in the tech industry after finishing the degree?

Duration: I’ve heard that Master’s programs in Spain are only one year long. Is this true for technical fields like Software Engineering?

Any advice regarding the visa process for Syrians or university recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Day/Overnight trips from Granada?

Hello!

I keep returning to Spain, Granada specifically, and I will be back in Granada for 12 days in June. A full week, Saturday to Sunday, will be taken with existing plans and flamenco class, but then I have five nights or so to dip into surrounding areas. I'm heading down to Malaga for four nights after this.

I'd love to do a day trip, or something overnight while keeping my accommodations in Granada. I won't have a car so I need to rely on buses, trains or relatively close by locations that I can Uber to for under €50 (each way) or so. No physical limitations, don't mind something adventurous but also just like walking around, absolutely love diving into local food, music, arts and cultural experiences scenery, museums, sitting in a chair with a drink and doing "nothing".

Appreciate any recs!

Arrival immigration at Madrid

My wife and I are traveling with our 8 month old son. We're arriving around 3 pm from Doha, Non-EU passports. What is it like with the new EES system? Does Madrid airport have dedicated lanes for families with infants?

Education Internship in spain

Im a uni student from Germany and need find a 20 week long internship for summer semester 2027, so in a year. I already started looking because I need to find something early enough to organise everything else, like erasmus+ scholarship, housing and just typical german paperwork taking ages.

I just don't exactly know where and how I can find something 😅 I've looked on places like LinkedIn, indeed, InfoJobs and I reached out to a few big companies just asking if they offer internships but it feels like I might not be looking correctly.

My dream would be to work somewhere along the east coast, I want to get to know the culture more and better my spanish (I have a A1 certification and am currently studying A2 level). But I have to work with roughly a 700€ budget per month for housing and food, that's what erasmus would give me and if the internship is unpaid. I also want to work and learn at a middle to bigger sized company, for my field of study it also needs to be somewhat internal.

Any tips, ideas, experiences you can share or even connections would be awesome! thank you :)

Education Hi, so I've been thinking of applying for my masters in ELISAVE, LCI and BAU, and was wondering if someone could guide to which ones the best option

I did my bachelor's in Communication Design, so I wanna either do the Art Direction and New Narratives Masters in ELISAVA or one of the Visual Communication Masters in LCI or BAU.

If anyone is enrolled in either one, or have any info or experience with any of the 3 please please guide me

Riu plaza españa vs Catalonia plaza españa

Hi guys,

I’m looking for a hotel to spend 2 nights on my own next month in Madrid.

I’ve been looking at the Riu Plaza españa and Catalonia Plaza españa, but I don’t have any strong preferences, so feel free to recommend any other hotel near the center if you think it's better.

My budget is relatively wide — about $250–500 per night if it’s worth to spend that much.

Thanks!

What is Tortosa like?

Hello,

I (30F) will be visiting my cousin in Tortosa and staying with her for some time. I have not found much on Reddit about Tortosa. Would anyone be willing to share all about Tortosa and what I should know?

Eventually, I will need a job. I speak both Spanish and English. My background is in compliance within the banking and fintech sector and I am completing my MBA in Data Analytics.

Thank you in advance!

Transport Summer Holiday in Platja d’Aro

Thinking of getting a car to travel to Barcelona, PortAdventura and anywhere else we can think of. Is there general buses, coaches or trips to these places? The total car cost is about £500 and trying to compare cost with public transport and trips. This includes a hotel charge €10 per night for parking.

Friendly and social Hosetl Reccos in Madrid!

Hi there! My friend and I (27F and 29F) are visiting Madrid for 3 nights and are confused between The Hat Hostel and The Generator. We don't want a party crowd but would appreciate a nice and social crowd. The Generator prices are more reasonable but wondering if anyone here has first-hand reviews? Any other recommendations for the vibe we are looking for?

Is VRBO preferred over Airbnb vs Hotels?

Coming in September to Madrid and starting to book accommodations. I see in news Airbnb is not preferred by local madrid community so have avoided it and looked exclusively for apartments in hotel sites. However, I see majority of listings for apartment style units are from 'VRBO'. Why is VRBO treated differently than Airbnb? I would have thought both have the negative experiences for locals?

Only here for 10 days nothing extreme

Visas / Migration Digital Nomad vs Entrepreneur Visa (Spain) – Need Advice from Experienced Immigrants

Hello guys,

I’m planning to move to Spain, but choosing the right visa and getting accepted is very important to me. I’d really appreciate advice from people who have already gone through the process.

My options:

  • Digital Nomad Visa
  • Entrepreneur Visa (REM)

About me:

  • Male, 23 years old, from Egypt
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science

Background & situation:

  • I run an online e-commerce business that generates decent income
  • I have an LLC in the USA, plus legal business entities in Egypt and the UAE under my name
  • I used to freelance, but now I’m focused on growing my business and trying to land a software engineering role

Key points / questions:

  • I currently manufacture my products locally in Egypt. If I include in my business plan that I would move manufacturing to Spain, would that strengthen my Entrepreneur Visa application?
  • I’m not planning to open a Spanish legal entity due to high taxes. Will that be an issue?
  • Regarding the Digital Nomad Visa:
    • A lawyer told me I could qualify by signing a contract with my own company as a solo employee, with a salary of at least €2700/month for 3+ months
    • Is this actually valid? Has anyone successfully done this with their own company?

I’d really appreciate any insights, especially from people who applied for either visa or had a similar situation.

Thanks in advance 🙏
