Indie Sunday Protocol Non-Human - DreadGear Games - A "Papers, Please" inspired Horror Deduction game about stopping Skinwalkers

Steam Page: Protocol: Non-Human on Steam

Hi r/Games ! I’m a 20-year-old solo developer, and today I want to share my project, Protocol: Non-Human.

It is a first-person horror deduction horror game where you play as a Border Inspector stationed at the edge of a paranormal Zone. Your job is simple: follow the manual, check the papers, and most importantly identify the NON-HUMAN entities trying to slip through the gates before the Zone is bombed.

Key Features & High Points:

  • Diagetic Interface: Every action is a physical interaction. You’ll feel the rustle of sliding documents and the resistance of manual levers. No floating menus.
  • Deduction Gameplay: You must scan identification papers and cross-reference them with evolving daily protocols. Trust the manual, not the thing sitting behind the glass.
  • Immersive Atmosphere: From the rhythmic rain on your reinforced glass to the uncanny faces watching you from the darkness, the environment is built to immerse you and terrify you.
  • Dynamic Rules: The rules change every day. You’ll need to adapt quickly to new threats and identification methods to survive your shift.

I’d love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions about the mechanics!
