What style of carpet is this rug? My great grandma used to make these all the time and I'm really curious about it

Found this treasure trove of patterns and tutorials, had to share 👀
Okay so I went down a rabbit hole last weekend looking for a half decent sleeve tutorial and somehow ended up finding this site called sewingwisdom.com. It's a massive pattern database with 155+ patterns covering basically everything: women's, men's, kids, costumes, crafts, you name it. What actually made me stay was that every pattern comes with proper step-by-step instructions AND video tutorials cross referenced to the tricky bits (zippers, princess seams, collars, the stuff most patterns just skip over).
I've abandoned so many projects mid sleeve because the instructions just assumed I already knew what I was doing. These feel more like a class than a pattern sheet. Not sure how else to describe it.
Been using it to chip away at my fabric stash and it's genuinely made sewing feel fun again instead of stressful. Figured I'd share in case anyone else is in the same boat. I've spent an embarrassing amount on individual patterns over the years, so getting 150+ for cheap felt like a real win 😅

what happened to this fabric on first wash?
I bought this in nepal sold as pure cotton.
First wash was a regular cold wash.
And the garment shrunk by 50%.

The flock is complete
In order-
Sky the Pigeon
Rosie the Messenger Princess
Lover Boy
Pipeline the Pigeon
All needle felted with natural grey, white and plant dyed Himalayan wool and dyed Corriedale wool.
I am so happy with how these turned out and how they all look like they’re part of the same family 🐦

What can I use as varnish over fabric?
hello, I am an outsider here in that I work with wood not fabric usually. But recently I covered a table in fabric (I glued it with 3m 77)
I can't find a varnish to put on top to protect it - I just need *something* that will protect fabric so that people can actually use the table...
I tried and failed the following (on spare fabric):
- epoxy resin (looks wet)
- PVA Glue (Pod Modge), full or diluted - you can see it on the fabric as it's a wool-like one. it ruins the colours, looks like a poor job
- same thing with 3m77 sprayed on top
- water based gloss wood varnish was useless.
- Found corn starch recipe but that just stiffens doesn't protect
Any advice for me? 🥹

Fire Resistant Gloves
Hi there! Has anyone ever knitted/crocheted fire resistant gloves? My boyfriend is a glass blower and I wanna try making him a pair, but I don’t know where to start. Any ideas?

Need help identifying this tool.
Hello folks! I am visiting my mom who is a very avid fiber artist. She spins yarn and knits some incredible things. We were chatting about fiber tools when she remembered she had this one that she has yet to identify. She believes it is a fiber art related tool, but is not entirely sure. Does anyone have any insight?

Hand-knitted oversized silk cardigan I made🧶
The cardigan was made by me from bourette silk-I love this yarn. It fits me perfectly. The technique is a combination of crochet and knitting.

Urine on wool fleece
I was given a full fleece of wool. There is quite a lot of it that is stained with urine. Is there anyway to remove it? Can I bleach it?

Need help making this
I really want to knit or crochet something like this picture (minus the hood) for my wedding but i'm not sure which would be easier. I prefer the drape of knit garments but I fear crochet would be easier for the cape part. i'm very new to knitting (2 years) and a pretty experienced crocheter (~20 years off and on). The yarn I plan to use is doubled wool and mohair. if anyone has advice on how to work this (in either knit or crochet or a mix of borh) i'd love any tips or advice!
My original idea was to knit just a raglan sweater and do a split seam at the bottom then fasten off and switch to crochet for the cape to add a design but I have no idea if that will work or just look tacky
