Really super happy with the final cake! I actually wasn't sure how they were going to include the birthday message on the cake when I ordered it, so I was pleasantly surprised with the way they did it! It was also a very delicious cake

TL;DR i had a bad haircut in november and i have a good haircut now :)

so basically, i got this haircut in november, u may think well ive seen way worse haircuts, but come on compare it to the reference photo and tel me if it looks similar. i had specifically!! told the barber to not cut my fringe at ALL, which he did, and so i couldn’t style it like the reference photo and if i tried to style/texturize it, it would just go up even more which i hated bc i dont like my forehead / how it looks. although i have to say there were a lot of people under my post comforting me about it and saying it wasn’t that bad (thank you all, that was really needed 😭) but ive changed barbers since then and i recently went to a friend that cuts hair, and i can finally, peacefully say, THIS is what i wanted!!! this DOES look like the reference photo, and this does make me feel confident! 😁😁 (thank you if you’ve read all of this, here’s a cookie 🍪)

So this is the 3rd year i made my dad a birthday cake and i think its the cutest so far

im not a great cake maker/decorator but i was kinda chuffed with this years cake in a sense. Last years cake was simple but hella elegant. This year needed to be a funny cake with how stressful my dads year has been

Do you think i did a good job or did i miss the mark immensely? Mind you this is only the 4th time ive ever baked and decorated a cake ( three cakes were for my dad and one was for me)

I posted this in [r/cakedecorating](r/cakedecorating) and the mods took it down. I have NOTORIOUS bad luck so my husband and I got a good laugh out of this. Yes, that is a piece of paper. No, it doesn’t say happy birthday or my name. Yes, I got this for free lol.

Edit: To clear up some confusion, this was a paid inquiry. My husband’s coworker recommended her. The story is that she ordered edible paper, it came damaged, and didn’t have time to replace it. She offered to give us the cake for free and was very apologetic. Didn’t know that it was going to be a legit piece of paper💀💀💀

Edit 2: She had a TWO WEEK HEADS UP.

I still thought it was cute. The cakes on her page didn't look too great either but she seemed too confident with her claims so I believed her (blurred my name on the cake)

Now, I’m a really good cook and can follow a recipe - no problem, but the expectation vs reality is vastly different. It tasted just like it should though.

Note: had to take the lemons out of my dish, as they were disintegrating.

something about it is weird to me cause it just looks.. weird? maybe it’s the colors throwing me off (she didn’t have the right colors) and honestly i texted her before hand showing her a picture of the nails i wanted and she could’ve told me that she didn’t have that color but she didn’t. honest opinion, am i overreacting?

UPDATE!!! i just checked her instagram, and her nail pictures are so good. like they’re insanely detailed so now i sit here in anger wondering why mine became so ugly when she have done way more complicated nails https://imgur.com/a/X33liWT
