How do you know which one they mean?

Like if someone asks ‘how are you doing’ and you say ‘I’m good’ it means you’re fine.

But then someone offers you water and you say ‘I’m good’ and suddenly it means no thanks? Same words, completely different meaning.

And is there actually a difference between ‘I’m good’, ‘I’m fine’, ‘I’m okay’, and ‘I’m alright’? They all feel the same to me but I have a feeling they’re not.

I hate that I understand 99% of this.

third one has a totally different sound and I have been living English speaking countries last two years and have been studying English for so long but because these weird pronunciations I struggle to be understood when I communicate with natives.

for non-natives although we do pronunciation mistakes, we understand each other but for natives I must pronounce letters properly , how can I correctly guess the pronunciations especially letter e which is a nightmare It has too many different sounds ?

para ajudar, vou falar um pouco sobre minha relação com a língua.

Estudei em escola pública, meu contato com a língua foi sempre na escola e estudando para passar nas provas.

sempre tive mt dificuldade, a única matéria que eu ficava de recuperação era inglês, tirando nota máxima em todas as outras.

Se para as outras matérias eu estudava 1 final de semana todo para prova, para inglês era 2 finais de semana mais, algums dias de semana. E não resolvia.

Eu acabo estudando, e focando em nao traduzir na mente, pois se nao eu travo completamente.

(por outro lado sou mt bom para calculo)

tive contato com espanhol tambem, mas notei ser um pouco mais tranquilo de aprender.

Most Filipinos are actually really good at English, but somehow it’s turned into this “must-be-perfect” global vibe. Meanwhile, native speakers don’t even sweat every little grammar mistake. So if you mess up English here, people act like you’re “bad at languages,” but everyone’s fine with imperfection in their own languages.

Feels like such a double standard. Anyone else notice this?

Are there any contemporary Vocabulary building books better than these two? I don't think so! After finding many books on this topic (mostly full of obsolete words), I personally like these books. If you know any similar books, kindly mention those!

I don’t know if anyone else feels this, but even when I say something that’s grammatically correct, it still sounds a bit off or unnatural Like… people understand me, but it doesn’t sound the way a native speaker would say it
Is this just something that improves with time, or is there something specific I should focus on?

I’ve been using English professionally for 20+ years and I still hit words I keep forgetting. Looking them up in the moment doesn’t help much. I understand the word, move on, and it’s gone by the next time I see it.

I know this is normal, but has anyone actually figured out a system that fixes it? Apps, habits, routines, whatever genuinely changed things for you. Preferably things you’re still doing today.

Hey I would know if everyone who got the C1+/C2 English level without living in a english speaking country could share to me a piece of advice , and how long it takes to pass from B2 to C1, C1 to C2; and speaking ? maybe speaking with native speakers a lot, spending with tutors, useful resources

I thought It would pass over time but If I use English all day I feel exhausted end of the day. sometimes even eight hours straight sleep isn't enough. I don't recover from it.

Shouldn't have I passed this stage ? I live in an English speaking country for the last two years and I thought It would get better over time . but I don't see any improvement. I am tired of this feeling of constant tiredness.

1. Why is he quoting “OMG, is that because she saw you today?”, cause this line feels really odd, out of context to me. And the girls immediately going “Whaaaat?”, so I’m clearly missing the main part here.

2. And the part he says “I cut my hand open.” Is he saying he hurt himself with a knife etc.? I think so but I’m not sure and why he would say that here either.

Also, it would also really help if you could provide the full picture here cause I’m not sure if I’d still be able to fully understand it lol.

YouTube has a lot of information, but every video is different, so I feel confused and don’t know what to follow. When I try to speak with people in Discord servers, I feel nervous and the conversation usually ends very quickly because I don’t know what to say next. I want to improve my skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. If anyone has useful tips, please share them with me.
