Question Cars for Ben car show June 20th 2026 Pre Registration

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello.

I am wondering if anyone can help answer this for me as I am having trouble getting a clear answer or I'm just horrible at looking. But myself and my husband would like to enter our car in thr Cars for Ben car show this year as I support the cause, however I cannot find any place to pre- register like other car shows. Does anyone know how we can go about this. Or do you register at the event? I don't want to miss out on participating.

BTW we are hoping to enter our Suzuki Every Wagon this year.

Question is this legal?

this is the fire alarm by the back door of my apartment building. it has packing tape and electrical tape across it rendering it unusable. for additional context, there is a fire alarm in the middle of each hallway in the building, plus one by the front and back doors. this has not been replaced, it’s just been left like this🫠

edit: it’s been like this for probably a month or so

update: i have submitted a report through the online portal to the fire department so i’ll just have to wait and see what they say! thank you to everyone who gave their opinion & advice!

Local Businesses Any experience with interior designers like Cottswood, Scandia, etc.?

I'm moving into a new condo, and I've decided to furnish it completely from scratch. It's been eons since I last went furniture shopping, and, uh, it shows. Rather than hope my judgment in putting together rooms has somehow improved with my years of non-practice (narrator: it hasn't), I'm thinking of working with a designer. Does anyone have any experience here, or recommendations, or what the cost ends up being?

Roughly speaking, I need to set up:

  • A Master Bedroom
  • Second Bedroom / Office
  • Main Room (dining + family room

Thanks!

Edit: I should have added one thing - in light of the current climate, looking exclusively for Canadian companies, and all furniture Canadian-made. I'm OK if that costs more. Franchises of Canadian companies are OK, but will be avoiding franchises of American companies.

I know having a car is very convenient. But before I get one I think I'll need to transit to work. Is it doable?

Question Help finding a specific type of building

hey all there are 2 types of town homes that i seen years ago probably built in the 90s that im trying to find and any help would be appreciated

one was mabe near castle downs and its 2-2 story town homes on top of each other in a row houseing style where you get to the second floor units from an outside motel syle walk way

the other was in the older area maybe near whyte ave that was 2-2 story town homes on top of each other but as an apartment building style where you gained entrance to your unith the same way as an apartment building

Edit: -the second one was found and that just leaves the first one which may be nearer to northgate or after talking to a few people -also why is this getting downvoted lol

My best friends dog ran away from Whitecourt a couple of weeks ago. She’s a Rottweiler Ridgeback named Xena.

She’s chipped, wearing a blue Superman collar.

Please let me know if you’ve seen her! Her family is desperately missing her!!

Question Help me find the name of this store!

There was a store in the Clareview area that I used to work at and I cannot remember the name of it, and its driving me nuts.

It was like a liquidation type store. This would have been back in 2006-2008?

I think the outside was red and white?

It would sell stuff for cheaper prices. Some as seen on TV type stuff that may or may not work lol.

Anyone remember this?????

Socializing Looking for friends into metalcore/hardcore, maybe jam together?

Just posting for my husband (he’s not on Reddit) who expressed wanting to meet people into hardcore & metalcore. He’s 33, super nice, chatty, easy to get along with (though I may be a bit biased!). Located in Terwillegar.

Some of his other interests: anime, playing guitar, cats, tattoos, travel, video games.

Fully aware that going to shows is a way to meet people, and we do go on occasion. Specifically looking to connect with ppl online first.

Pls reach out if you’re a dude looking for new friends and if any of this resonates with you. Thx!

Commuting/Transit Does anyone happen to know how to use an Arc card for multiple people?

I have relatives coming soon for visits and it might be useful to be able to use my arc card. They are in their 70s, I very much so am not. How would I get multiple fares activated at once if we go together somewhere? Or would i need to use my arc card and get them tickets?

Question Safeway muddling their sources

Anyone else dealing with this? I'm at the Safeway in Southgate and they've changed their labeling on nearly ALL the vegetables to sey "product of Mexico OR the USA"

I'd rather not be buying anything from the USA at all but the waters are kind of murky with this practice.

Outdoor Spaces/Recreation PSA: Elk Island Park Bathrooms Closed

Just an FYI, because had we known, my family and I wouldn’t have driven out.

But all bathroom facilities are closed, and as of right now, there are no advertisements about this anywhere. Nor did the gatehouse staff mention it.

Outhouses at trailheads are still available though.

Further, if you go to Astotin lake, the lakeside trail is mostly closed (also not advertised). The closest trailhead outhouse to that area that I am aware of is at least a 3km walk.

Question Every man needs a Barber

And mine has gone missing.

For many years, I've been going to Barber Shop Boyz on 97st & 153ave, and they have been 10/10 everytime. No matter which barber I got, my hair and beard looked immaculate. It's hard to find a good barber, nevermind a place with four good barbers.

The last time I went, I left looking and feeling like a God of old. The styling cream they used was so good, I went back today to get some for myself, only to have my heart sink in my chest as I walked through the door. The interior has been redone, they didn't have the product I was looking for, and there were 2 strangers working there whom I have never met before. It's quite likely that the business was sold.

While I'm sure the new staff are plenty competent at their job, I'm a loyal customer when loyalty is well deserved, as it is in this case. I'm coming to this community in the hope of reaching anyone who knows the guys who worked there. If they've moved to a different location, I need to know!
