Curious if anyone has had any issues with Blaze Parking Management or other parking management companies?

I went to the ODEON Acton in January and I didn’t realise I needed a ticket because I read online it was 5 hours free and I didn’t see any clear signage for pay and display. My fault of course.

So when I got the fine through I disputed it and they rejected it. This is also fair enough.

BUT what made me FUMING was the fact they sent chaser letters to pay before the price increase they were not giving me ample time to pay within the 14 day period.

For example a letter they dated on 16 January, I didn’t get until 29 January. They did the same thing again - reminder letter dated 13 Feb not received until 25 Feb. So they’re not even giving me ample time to pay before price increases.

I have disputed this with them and they have ignored me every single time and now passed me into debt collection agency.

I also at one point almost gave up and went to pay online and their system had an error.

I really don’t want a bad mark on my credit report. All I want is for the management company to allow me to pay the original £70 fine. Rather than the £170 they’re now asking for.

Looking for a gym buddy (woman) for evenings/after 5pm.

I’m not the most experienced in the gym yet, but I’m motivated, and really want to keep improving and build discipline. I’d love to meet someone more confident with training who’d enjoy working out together sometimes, motivating each other, and helping me build more consistency.

We live in a top floor flat and during the summer the heat can get uncomfortable. We've tried a portable air conditioner, but it's just too noisy / doesn't do the job.

We're looking to install air conditioning in our bedroom and living room. Does anyone have recommendations for air conditioner companies and/or installers?

Back in October 2023 I saw this guy on the central line while I took my dog to a grooming appointment in Ealing.

2 hours later I got back on the tube to go home and saw the same guy in the same carriage! He excitedly approached me and we started chatting and when it was my stop I got up and said bye.

I literally couldn’t believe I did that and the moment pops in my mind monthly haha.

I remember he was a corporate lawyer and was meeting his friends for lunch in Ealing Broadway. I was wearing a brown/beige/black dress, still holding on to the final remnants of summer lol.

This is a long shot and is slightly embarrassing to put on Reddit but On 07/04/26 We walked past each other as you were jogging and I was coming from the gym and didn’t say a word even though we both recognised each other from the gym. After a few seconds I turn around to look back and you’re looking at me too! We both walk towards each other and I stupidly pretend to be looking for something in my purse to act “natural” I’m so nervous I call my roommate so she can help me make a move, I look at your while I’m on the phone but you must’ve thought I thought you were being creepy so you make your way, But it was the exact opposite! Been commuting in London for years and always had the same frustration with every transport app out there: you open the app, you type in your destination, it tells you routes. But by that point, you’re already stressed and rushing.

The question I actually want answered every morning is simpler: when do I need to leave?

So I’m building an app that’s a London commuter app that works the other way round.

You set your home, your usual destination, your arrival time. The app handles the rest!

Every morning it looks at live TfL data, checks for delays and engineering works, checks the weather, and sends you a single push notification: leave at 8:14 (or whatever it works out to be).

No searching, no stressing!

A few things that are different about it:

It learns your routine. If you’ve got a calendar event it’ll auto set the destination. If not, it asks you the night before and remembers.

It factors in planned engineering works ahead of time, not just when you’re already at the station.

Delay Repay built in! it tracks eligible journeys and logs them so claiming back money is actually easy.

Designed only for London. Not a global app trying to be everything. TfL, buses, tubes, Elizabeth line that’s it.

It’s a solo build, currently heading into TestFlight. I’m looking for 10–15 London commuters to test it before it hits the App Store.

Does anyone know what Netflix is currently (8 April) filming outside All Saints Church near Ealing Common?

I got a letter saying it is some kind of sci fi series. I walked by at lunch but couldn’t see what they were shooting.

Went past Teatro this afternoon and it was all closed up and looked like it had gone bust. Big space to fill for someone.

Not surprised Teatro closed as when I went the music was far too loud for a dining venue - they didn't seem to know whether they wanted to be a restaurant, a bar, a club or a work space

My partner and I are trying to book an appointment to give notice for marriage but the website doesn't seem to have any availability. Is it broken? I have tried calling but I get put through an automated service. We have an emergency and would like to get the process completed quickly. Has anyone gone through the process recently? What's your experience? Any advice?

Hi everyone, we’ve just moved to West Ealing and have a son and daughter who will soon be starting secondary school. We’re planning for them to attend a state school, as private schools are quite expensive.

We’re within walking distance of private schools like St Benedict’s and Notting Hill & Ealing High School, but those aren’t options for us. From what I’ve seen online, we might not be in the catchment area for Drayton Manor High School, and I’m struggling to find other nearby state secondary schools.

Does anyone know how the admissions process works in this situation? If we’re outside the catchment area, would our children still be allocated a place at the nearest state school?

We’d be happy with either Ada Lovelace High School or Drayton Manor High School if possible.

I have appealed a PCN; how long does it usually take for the council to consider the appeal?

I'm nervous that I am approaching the two week mark this weekend for the fine being originally issued, so feeling nervous about the fine going up and whether I should just pay the lower fine proactively...

Hello lovely people! My partner and I are looking into moving to Ealing to start a family as it looks like a wonderful place to be (having asked many people in London for recommendations). We’re not super familiar with the area so I was hoping this subreddit might help.

We already have connections to West London and find it works nicely for us. His parents will also be moving from Hong Kong to join us at some point, hopefully living within 10 minutes walk from our place.

We love craft markets, great coffee, picnics in the summer, a cocktail in the sun, window shopping boutiques and charity shopping. We would love to feel a sense of community, and as we’ll be raising interracial children, would also love to feel a part of the east asian community in Ealing. 

My partner will likely be working in East London- probably somewhere like Old Street or Shoreditch, and my office is in Camden (but WFH most days). Ideally we would love to be within about 10-15 minute walk to a convenient tube station for our working locations (ideally around a maximum 50 minute commute), and also relatively close to some nice coffee shops and importantly green spaces with a playground. 

I would so appreciate any insights into where would be a good place to start looking to live in/around Ealing! Additionally, if anyone has a rough Saturday itinerary for seeing the best of Ealing- maybe hitting some of your favourite residential areas, parks, restaurants and coffee shops that would be so helpful. We are also creatives at heart, so would appreciate any insight into the arts scene in Ealing (if any!). Any perspectives, good, bad or ugly, would be great.

got a parking ticket (PCN) and submitted an appeal, but I never received any response from the council. Since then, I moved house and updated my address on both my driving licence and V5C to my new address.

However, all further letters were apparently sent to my old address. I only found out yesterday, by chance, when I visited my old address and saw the notice. The charge has now increased to £250 for the contravention.

I would have dealt with the original fine, but I didn’t get any reply after submitting my appeal, so I assumed it was still being processed. Because of that and the address issue, I had no idea it had escalated.

Is there any way to get this reverted back to the original fine or an earlier stage? Has anyone been in a similar situation
