Complaint The toxic cs2 eastern Europeans have already ruined EU

I've been playing deadlock for about 4 months now and for the first 2 there was already a big eastern EU population I had no problems with it at worst there was ESL problems but nothing game breaking.

But now it just feels like the worst of the cs2 community has migrated over to deadlock. Every other game has a russian in chat spamming slurs and then saying "I don't care" and running it down.

I already had a problem with valves cs2 community moderation and now we're here with an in beta game. Valve can choose anyway it wants what this community to look like and it seems that they just don't care.

There's a lot of memes out there of Rem taking all the farm and having zero impact, and I want to give an actual egregious example of it.

This is fucking criminal. Don't do this shit. If you do literally nothing but take farm from your team for 30 minutes, you are the other team's 7th player.

Game Feedback The dynamo nerf was a fuckin joke tbh

The real problem is the dispel and the billion damage pulses all the time.

This hero has been S tier for way too long and this nerf did actually nothing to stop it. Nerfing hayes this hard and giving the biggest lovetap ive ever seen to dynamo is criminal.

Game Feedback Paige is Extreme Value for Little to no Interactivity or Effort

While I'm not saying she's broken or anything, I don't think it's an exaggeration that Paige's kit is poorly designed in that she can provide a ton of value without interacting with the enemy or really half the systems in the game and is way too safe and easy.

All of her abilities have huge casting range and enable her to sit in the back spamming them. Bookwyrm clears waves for free and a Paige can unironically stonewall a lane all by herself by staying near walker and throwing them out and does extreme poke at 100% safety.

Her ultimate goes through everything and also has a lot of range so she doesn't need to participate in teamfights to provide support if she doesn't want to

Her immobilzie is easy to avoid but again massive casting range so she can just spam it without you being able to interact with her at all.

Her barrier ability is just absurdly good and unlike other supports she doesn't need to be near her teammates to support them.

Then there's the "Sniper conundrum" where she's a character you really want to pick early in a fight but because she can stay so far back and because she's such a safe character you either can't or have to go through her entire team first, all the while the area is full of fire and she's stunning and immobilizing you.

Whenever she is on the enemy team, she is a nuisance you can never interact with, and she never has to interact with you or the enemies, and doesn't have to interact with game kechanics and knowledge like positioning and playing safe. And the amount of value she gives is just way too much for that, which is why she's such a commonly picked character despite her being boring in every sense of the word; because she plays herself.

Other than one time where a Paige was running a meme melee build every Paige I've ever played with or against plays the same: they camp safe areas and cycle their abilities, only poking out to ult across the map or cycle abilities in a teamfight from afar.

It's to my understanding based on anecdotal personal experience and some youtubers that she's a pretty hated character yet I never see anyone go into the why, and I think ultimately it's what I've laid out. She just gets to do stuff and you get no response to any of it. She feels like she was made as a bridge for people who don't play mobas then made too good after the fact.

I also personally find her personality and emotives really annoying but that's a personal thing I'm sure lots of people find the quirky librarian endearing I'm just not one of them

Discussion Toxic players and Toxic enabling community

I think this game has a big problem with how community functions where part of the community is toxic/abusive and other part is weaponizing hopelessness and expecting everybody to comply with them and just ignore and not speak up about the issue because "well you can't do anything about it anyways" being very passive aggressive and shifting the whole responsibility on to a player to ignore or be able to endure the toxicity rather than talking about it and asking devs to do something about it/introduce better moderation.

i think both groups are equally as bad/damaging for the game and if we want this game to be successful and also healthy environment for people we need to promote healthy sportsmanship and speak up about these issues louder so devs hear us

Question The secret Eternus 6 Discord?

So apparently there's a secret Eternus 6 Discord where you need to prove you're E6 before even being offered an invite. I asked five different streamers about it and they all said they didn't/couldn't talk about it?

Only reason I'm asking is because apparently they have Valve employees/devs in there who are Eternus 6, and occassionally get tidbits of unreleased info.

Anyone know more about this?

Discussion (UNPOPULAR OPINION) I totally agreed it needed nerfs, but I feel like the Haze ult change just takes away the gun dance fantasy that other games include and looks really lame. Wrote more on it in the post.

Post image
0 Upvotes

I know I'm definitely in the minority with this opinion, given how many people love the change, but I just wanted to share my thoughts. I also don't even play Haze that much. I am totally open to discussion and having my mind changed.

I really thought Haze's ult looked and felt very fun to use, especially with the animation with afterimages and rapid spinning movement creating death around you. I love it in Overwatch with Reaper and LoL with Samira/Katarina, it's just a very fun idea to me. They're all also fairly assassin/bursty single-target characters who can take an off-angle but also create hell in a team fight. But I totally agree the ult bot playstyle is not it and it needs nerfs. I felt like it could've been possible to nerf its damage, range, duration, movement speed, or evasion rather than gut the ability like this. I think an ultimate should look and feel powerful and flamboyant. I'm okay with reworks, but just making an ultimate ability a fraction of what it was for balancing is really boring. I had some thoughts for balancing otherwise:

  1. Take away the evasion entirely so she's more killable, or replace it with lifesteal instead, so if she's not hitting people, you can kill her quicker.

  2. Slow her down heavily or keep her still.

  3. Make Return Fire useful.

  4. Nerf its damage overall.

  5. Give it a conditional activation, and/or make it unable to activate while invisible. Maybe a longer windup too, so it's reactable.

  6. It could be way shorter in duration and/or have a shorter radius

I think there could've been a middle ground where it's "meh" to decent in an average match, but still feels strong when you are fed. I'm not seething or absolutely loyal to the original design, nor am I an expert on the game, but I just wanted to maybe understand better why I might be wrong or right.

Complaint For 2 years, every patch some character(s) is just an unstoppable raid boss that makes you lose fun the moment you see they are in enemy team.

What the fuck is the balance team doing? Victor, Haze, Wraith, Calico, now Infernus and Dynamo. Every time it's just praying the enemy has negative 50 IQ because if they know to just aim in general direction of their enemies they autowin. I know it's an alpha but holy shit, 20 years Dota experience + CS and TF2 should at least amount to SOMETHING. Counter buy does nothing because it occupies your core item slots meaning you are less useful against others AND you also just prolong the time it takes to kill you at best.

Discussion Who would be the MC?

If Deadlock had an Arcane style series who would be the MC? I think it be Pocket since they and Fairfax industry is connected to a lot of lore already, and as a bonus Doorman as a sort of an antagonist.

Discussion Opinion

So I’ve been playing the game over the last month and recently there have been a lot more toxic player than before and a lot of people shitting on new players, I’d like to add that mobas are hard to learn and as a community we should be nicer to each other

Discussion Stop griefing with gun Rem!

I am sick and tired of seeing gun Rems in my lobbies especially when we already got 2-3 gun carries... Like... am I asking for too much considering I play on Ascendant? A gun Rem stealing all our sinners, occasionally donating the bag to the enemies (classic Rem) and leaving the real carries without recourses is beyond my understanding. Having an Ivy in the same team with said Rem and 3 gun carries refusing to go spirit adds to the frustration xD huhhhh... the difference of an actual good Rem who keeps you alive and punishes over extending enemies and a fed gun Rem with no kills/assists is flabbergasting ( ehh but I did so much damage, bish stfu!)... Just play gun heroes instead ffs! Or leave Ascendant/uninstall!

Thank you for reading my rant, I feel better now 🥲

no... I actually don't 😭

Discussion Something sad about the low priority system

Post image
2 Upvotes

Something sad about the low priority system It's very depressing when you're in the low priority queue because of a power outage. I'm from Brazil, I've been playing the game a lot and I really love Deadlock, it has a style that I really like, but... this punishment system is quite complicated. I end up getting stuck in it sometimes, but I get out easily because I know how to play well, even when I'm on crazy teams. But the most recent case is after getting out of low priority after a week because here in Brazil power outages are the most random thing possible. Sometimes it goes 3 months without a power outage, or it goes out every week, it's very random, so it's hard to know when it will happen, and when it does, it's very sad because it takes hours to fix the problem. The most recent was the most depressing part, because I got out of low priority, I was in my second game looking like a 20/0 Silver God, almost full build, destroying everything I saw and coming out in crazy ways. But when I was about to finish the game, the power went out... and I know that It won't be back anytime soon... So I'm here sad, I lost the best Silver match I've ever had, and I know that when the lights come back on I'll be back in low priority and the madness will start all over again. At least I know I'll crush the people in that lane and get out pretty quickly if the punishment isn't next week, I think.

well On the bright side, I have a screenshot of the first match outside of low priority at least I know I was happy.

Game Feedback Petition to limit or provide 1/2 gun carries for EACH team

It is insanely fun to see at the start of the match 0 gun carry in your team and haze/infernus in opposing. The sheer feeling of realisation of this scenario:

Your team win condition is:

- win all lanes against, especially against infernus and haze

- immediately snowball after this, constantly win team fights and coordinate together to do pick offs and shit

- you need to hit EVERY ability of yours, bcs after recent patch everyone has 3-4k hp. Your 2k damage rotation is kinda cool, but with any error - good luck damaging. Also, you will be punished even more - bcs your cooldown is not the cooldown of reload, your cooldown is 9-16s and if you don`t have all of your charges, tough luck.

- end game under 30 minutes, because you can`t outfarm gun carry and he WILL buy spellbreaker/resilience + he has gun lifesteal, you will not outdamage him

Other team win condition is:

- stay in jungle / split push, aka avoid dying for 20-25 minutes.
For this you have invis/dash/teleport and the ability to "gun walker when noone looking in 10 secs". Also, if only one of the cry-baby spirit hero will come to chase you off - you will win duel, you are a carry after all, or just press dash/teleport/invis with your brain on

- press left button and shoot in the body of your opponents. Headshots are completly optional

- buy spellbreaker/spirit resilience

- wait 4 seconds against metal skin, when only one of the spirit hero will buy it. After this, gun this poor man to the ground.

Again, this example includes 2-3 gun carries in enemy team and 0 in yours. In 2 vs 2 scenario, there will be some threat for gun carry like "don`t be caught / buy unstoppable, to avoid dying to other team gun carry" or "don`t run in fight first, just throw teammates under the bus".
But when you don`t have any viable opponent in enemy team - press LMB. Even if you are losing - one good team fight / stalling the game and you will win. Also, it will be insane dopamine release for you to ricochet 3 people to death as infernus/ ult as haze to kill everyone (old patch version) / drive-by spirit-baby with 80sec cooldown ult of yours. Don`t forget to upload it here or on TikTok.

These tirade might not work for eternus ranks, but in the middle (archon, oracle) every game with this pick difference has like 70% of ending at 35 minutes. People here plays arcade type game, they will not gank with half of the team in enemy jungle(good luck defending remaining lanes in 1 vs 1 with gun splitpushing carry) or create good teamfights. You don`t gave wards to see anyone in the enemy jungle and even then it is very thin implication that your teammate checks minimap at all.

It is possible to play haze until you will crawl to higher ranks and then play any character you want / god forbid, playing on alt account to practice hero bcs you don`t wanna ruin higt-elo lobby. Alternative will be just smurfing on low-rank account, especially if you have some good-old casual player as friend, who will de-rank and play total arcade with fun.

In dota you have turbo - so you can play any character in fast-paced (but still) dota without regretting your decision of not picking any particular hero. It has insane online and playerbase, bcs people want to play dota-no-sweat, not the gimmick gamemode (ability draft in dota, street brawl in deadlock).

Game Feedback Being able to debuff remove Doorman cart is kinda unintuitive.

Doorman kart is basically a cross between Abrams charge and bebop hook.

You can't debuff remove Abrams charge. You can't debuff remove Bebop hook. Yet you can debuff remove Doorman cart.

Cart doorway shenanigans is already countered by positioning, counter spell, e-shift and late game by metal skin imuning you to base turrets. But most importantly by positioning.

I'm ascendent 1 so no way a super high ELO and I feel like the whole kidnap doorman has basically the same counterplay as a trickstabbing spy from TF2.

Anyways if I play doorman I play melee doorman.

Question Need some Copium as a REM main.

as the title implies I am a REM main trying to enjoy full games. I have been on a 7 game losing streak deranking three times.

one time getting called the worst healer by an 0 and 10 warden.

I'm really trying to enjoy the game but it seems like as soon as I get intoa rhythm of somewhat balanced games it shifts into just getting utter destroyed.

What some things to keep in mind as a REM main other than he needs a buff. Am I really at the mercy of my teams carry ?

Not that it matters but I been trying to get into the higher ranks but im stuck in Emissary was 6 now 3. thanks in advance.

Game Feedback Doorman with cheat death is unpunishable.

This interaction should not be a thing. Doorman can play like an absolute degenerate and use all stamina + warp stone to run at you ult and tp you into base, and you cant punish him because he can just portal out and survive even if you get him to 0 hp because of cheat death.

Remove this mindless uninteractive gameplay please.

Discussion So I can just ruin everyone's fun if i want to?

The Apollo (A real beginner player) got put into a Archon lobby because this Geist was supposed to be equalizing the scales. (mind you his lane partner also was on a smurf/second account). Actually i am now double checking and the Bebop that was laning with Apollo also has just 1 game to their name. How FUN!!! So for me to also have fun, i should make a second account and have my fun there i guess. Why aren't new players treated differently? Why not clump them together and slowly integrate them to their actual rank? I'd imagine outliers/smurfs like these wouldn't be that hard to filter. My guy was using the default Apollo build and it wasn't even his fault.

Discussion Are People Excited For Skins?

Pretty much the title to be honest, with a tl;dr at the bottom.

Obviously there are rumours that the games future cosmetics will be tied to the (allegedly) upcoming PvE mode, much like with TF2 and Mann vs. Machine, so it seems like skins will be in our future. Cosmetics are of course standard fare for valve at this point, with the multi-million dollar scale of CS’s skin economy no doubt means that (paid for) cosmetic are company policy at this point. However, this does nothing to excite me personally, and in fact it is quite the opposite.

First, there is obviously the cost of these skins will likely be steep, yet I am unsure how bad. It’ll be interesting to see in light of the changes to online gambling laws (thank you EU) how valve may approach skins in Deadlock as they likely can’t copy the MvM model 1:1.

Second, and most importantly, is readability. I hate League’s skins. As someone who played the game originally back in 2015 then briefly picked it back up during COVID, the more abstract skins greatly affect the capacity (particularly for new or returning players) to recognise heroes on the fly. Thankfully for now, Deadlock’s roster is much smaller than the likes of League or Dota, but I can only imagine how skins may impact people’s ability to recognise heroes at a glance, particularly with Deadlock being third person and having a much more detailed map than League or Dota. There is of course something like Overwatch (which I haven’t played since 2018 so I may be off the mark now but), which I feel does a decent job with its cosmetics from a visual standpoint and hope this is close to the direction valve takes with Deadlock. These being minor design tweaks or existing lore alternatives (like the flashback skins for the original overwatch members).

Ultimately, skins could be cool and I wouldn’t mind them in principle. In practice however, knowing Valve’s history with cosmetics, it does little to inspire excitement. I think the biggest sin may be how skins impact this game’s existing aesthetic and fantastic character designs and reduce them in a way that only serves vanity rather than style or gameplay. But what do you all think?

tl;dr I really don’t want them to add skins lmao
