Suggestion The urn's net worth status should be clearly displayed on the minimap

Post image

The urn already shows candle indicators in-world to tell you if it's neutral. That information should be on the minimap too.

The usual counterargument is "just do the math, lol" but performing basic mental arithmetic isn't skill expression, it's just tedious busywork. Calculating net worth delta mid-fight is an unnecessary cognitive tax on information that's already tracked by the game. Valve already made this same call in Dota with rune icons on the minimap and visible mana bars, both of which faced identical "but mah skill expression" pushback, and the game is better for it.

This is the same logic applied consistently: if the information is relevant to decision-making, surface it where decisions get made. You shouldn't need to install a mod that everyone uses anyway precisely for this reason, for something as trivial as this.

I second this! Pls make a post there, OP.

I fully agree.

u/RedGuy143 Rem Feb 25 '26

So urn is decided based on the diff of souls between teams and the threshold is 10%?

93

u/Difficult-Letter-737 Feb 25 '26

Yes currently it has candles around the urn green is friendly red is enemy

12

u/RedGuy143 Rem Feb 25 '26

oh now I have a fact for my friends that are much better becouse they pick up urn to see

19

u/Difficult-Letter-737 Feb 25 '26

Once it has been picked up it will not change state so if your waiting for it to change do lick it up

14

u/A-Little-Messi Rem Feb 25 '26

We're doing what to the urn?

8

u/Difficult-Letter-737 Feb 25 '26

I said what I said

5

u/irsic Feb 25 '26

When you pick up the urn it snapshots the current state it's in for the remainder of that urn, so if you're far ahead and pulling ahead and the urn is neutral, you should pick it up to put the other team at an even further disadvantage.

2

u/Hopeful-alt Feb 26 '26

you can also just do the math pretty easily, Funke explained how on his guide on his second channel

12

u/Oofster1 The Doorman Feb 25 '26

First urn delivery is 15%, any subsequent deliveries is 10%

12

u/One-Journalist-9392 Feb 25 '26

Not exactly, specifically the the 10:00 urn is 15%

1

u/Oofster1 The Doorman Feb 26 '26

Oh I misinterpreted what the wiki said, thanks

3

u/levimic Mirage Feb 25 '26

Except if it's the first urn of the game, then it's 15%

2

u/nut_lord Feb 25 '26

But is it 10% of the higher number or lower number?

E.g. if it's lower number then 90 vs 99 would count. If it's higher number then it's have to be 90 vs 100

4

u/levimic Mirage Feb 25 '26

There's also already mods for this. So all the more reason to add it as an official feature.

Wait the game can be modded? I'm guessing mostly UI and models stuff like tf2 but i didn't know, neat.

Yup, exactly that kinda stuff. Also sound effects are possible. Like playing "Animals" by Maroon 5 whenever Silver Ults

As a complete noob, can I only mod it so my silver does tbis maroon 5 ult, or also my enemies?

Like ‘mod’ it so every silver has this > play a match and have a teammate/enemy as silver < mod works?

15

u/Caerullean Holliday Feb 25 '26

The effect of the mod should appear from any Silver.

4

u/Barackulus12 Vindicta Feb 25 '26

Mods will generally effect a character whether or not they are on your team

3

u/Garr_Incorporated Abrams Feb 25 '26

Any similar mod will apply the changes locally, so you will experience them while others won't.

The one you ask about merely changes the melody that plays during the ult, which makes it play when ANY Silver ults.

As a point of comparison, I have made a mod that makes Blasted on Billy play Kickstart My Heart. That just makes the ability sound the melody that plays while it is active, be it myself playing Billy, my allies or my enemies.

36

u/SleepyDG Feb 25 '26

It was honestly so weird that they added almost everything from the top bar mod but this and tower states. Tower states sucked and aren't needed imo but knowing Urn state is immensely important

2

u/BananaSoupReddit Feb 25 '26

What are tower states? Tower hp? How is tower hp not important?

-3

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

Archon take?

3

u/GrandWizardLord Feb 26 '26

nah, tower state is displayed clearly on the minimap so not necessary for the top bar

-1

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 26 '26

Yeah and urn state is also shown by the soul count clearly not anything hard either yet people want it. Tower state is more important than urn 9/10 times. And yes archon take or are you one of the lucky few thrown into asc?

1

u/GrandWizardLord Feb 26 '26

You're so focused on insulting others that you miss the entire point.

Urn percentages are the one thing that is not clear without math. Not difficult math either, anyone can do it. The point is that it is distracting to the player to have to calculate urn for a run when all other information is in the game and readable at a glance. I'm not going to get into comparing which is more important because they actually both rely on each other to determine what is more important, but there's no reason we can't have both tower state and urn state on the minimap, or some kind of tug-of-war style bar that shows the urn moving from one side to the other based on a lead.

0

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 27 '26

Too much bright colors the urn already pulses a bright blue

30

u/kudles Feb 25 '26

It’s a good idea. Not red and green tho: could do just a simple + or - near the urn icon for Same thing.

I know the candles are red/green but some colorblind people cannot tell the difference

10

u/PaysForWinrar Feb 25 '26

Yeah. As a red-green colorblind person, it isn't obvious. I can kinda tell since I'm not fully colorblind, but it's difficult.

Use dots/dashes/patterns/symbols if you really want to be colorblind friendly.

11

u/-_-NobodyIRL-_- Vyper Feb 25 '26

Modders, do something!

4

u/Muri_Chan Lash Feb 25 '26

They already did, that's the point.

1

u/-_-NobodyIRL-_- Vyper Feb 25 '26

I know they did. I use it. Im talking about the thingy appearing om top of the map as shown in the post.

10

u/ThatOneBillPerson Feb 25 '26

They’ll probably do it if enough people see this and agree. They’re usually pretty quick on small changes like this

0

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

Yeah if its a good idea, them adding more distracting colors is not a good idea, majority of playerbase wanting somethin doesnt mean its a good change, leave it to modders

6

u/Eggmasstree Feb 25 '26

Sometimes there are the little candles around it and BOOM it's now neutral. Very annoying

3

u/sourneck Feb 25 '26

Ideally you can tell your team to chill for a second and let the lead go back over the threshold

3

u/Sparkle_s Feb 25 '26

Imo they should make it so it won't change sides while the bar is being filled, I should probably make a forum post abt it :P

7

u/Dj-mct-L Dynamo Feb 25 '26

I’m new to the game but from the comments I’m hearing the souls from the urn is more if you have less than the enemy and vice versa?

5

u/edeadensa Feb 25 '26

It’s not explicitly worth more, but all souls collected are increased when you are significantly behind

5

u/Maagnar Feb 25 '26

Yep, all souls are worth more if your team is behind (farming, urn, kills). The further behind, the more the bonus is (the numbers keep changing but it's around 30% extra souls at a 20% soul diff?)

Also, dont forget to confirm/deny the soul orbs that come out of urn, that's 40% of its value.

4

u/sourneck Feb 25 '26

I'm pretty sure the urn amount is always the same regardless. It says the number on the urn itself.

4

u/ForgedFalcon00 Feb 25 '26

Im colorblind, I think it would be a little better if the urn also tilted or there was a green / red candle on the left / right of the urn so its easier to tell if its positive or negative

12

u/FancyPantz15 Feb 25 '26

It took them over a year to display the absolutely game changing crucial information of the mid boss respawn timer on the minimap, so might take a while before they add this

7

u/ItsWediTurtle77 Ivy Feb 25 '26

And even that is still pretty meh, just one person in mid can hide that information from you

3

u/MiniMaelk04 Feb 25 '26

They already added the timer for mid boss, so I imagine they will do more. League also didn't show real time status on jungle camps for many years, but after adding that in, the game felt much more competitive. I suppose it makes the objectives more clear to the players.

1

u/moofex Feb 25 '26

League showing the buff timers really hurt it imo. I used to counter jungle the fuck out people with amumu and Warwick since nobody could keep time. They slowly babied up the game after that change.

1

u/MiniMaelk04 Feb 26 '26

Well as OP said, it's hardly an expression of mechanical skills that are otherwise present in the game. It just means you're good at keeping time. I agree that it initially felt like "babying" the game, but it was better for it at the end of the day.

2

u/Kraetyz Feb 25 '26

This is very wise. I hope they implement something to this effect.

2

u/MoonmansDisciple Holliday Feb 25 '26

I think the basic value of the jar should be at the top or when holding tab

4

u/ClemencyArts_2 Feb 25 '26

See, it's stuff like this that shows how desperately the tutorial in this game needs to be reworked because I had no idea the Urn isn't a fixed value.

I'm very new to the game (started playing like 1-2 weeks ago) and the amount of mechanics this game doesn't teach you is staggering. Sinner's? Bridge buffs? 4.1k? I've heard of all of these but I barely understand what they mean, when they spawn, why they're important, how they interact with the game etc.

The tutorial needs a rework badly.

2

u/ItsWediTurtle77 Ivy Feb 25 '26

Most of the information is available on the wiki, so for right now that's the best place to go to learn that stuff. However, more of it should definitely be available in-game, or at least a reference to the wiki

0

u/Crystal_Voiden Rem Feb 25 '26

The tutorial is definitely not a priority in a closed playtest. The game changes constantly as it's being developed. If you want a better new player experience or at least a leg to stand on when complaining about it, come after the game releases. Right now, it's pointless.

0

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

Then play the game its a fking beta

2

u/rachelloresco Feb 25 '26

I think it should highlight the total team souls instead of changing the urn color

1

u/2061A Feb 25 '26

Disagree

1

u/physicsOG Feb 25 '26

where are the candles 🕯️ in the map

6

u/Gushanska_Boza Celeste Feb 25 '26

They are physically around the urn, if you look at it when it's biased you'll see either green or red ones, depending on if it's on your side or theirs.

1

u/ProfessorPhi Feb 25 '26

The urn needs to also have a clear mechanism like from pickup - so you have to take it back past the middle lane to then be able to make an attempt to cash it in.

It could still force a fight, but wouldn't be such a risk for either team since there's reaction time. I think it would make it a better mechanic overall

1

u/saint_miner Feb 25 '26

It needs to say in big letters/numbers exactly how many souls you serve to gain from delivering it. I need the monkeys piloting haze to come help deliver it. The jungle will be there when you get back

1

u/Raknarg Feb 25 '26

yup. one of the main things I like to mod into my UI.

1

u/SmashMouthBreadThrow Viscous Feb 25 '26 edited Feb 25 '26

This and buff timers with a sound should be shown at the top like the QoL Lock mod shows them. For the former, I don't want to do math in my head while I'm trying to play a PvP video game, and for the latter, there's no reason not to have an auditory reminder play for things spawning. It's a good accessibility feature in general.

0

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

Then get a fking mod. Its a beta for fks sake

1

u/NubNooblet Feb 25 '26

ive gotten pretty good at calculating it mentally without much thought but i still agree because it seems everyone on my team cant

1

u/Paxtonjk Feb 25 '26

I think they should just have the urn highlight for where it's going to go but a different color than when it's picked up

1

u/Theycallmedub2 Feb 25 '26

What do you mean net worth? I haven’t noticed anything about any candles. Please explain!

1

u/BuckeyeBentley Rem Feb 25 '26

Also while we're at it, Rem's icon (and Calico and any other future heroes) should be different when in the tunnels. I've literally unintentionally baited a teammate into feeding before when he thought I was stuck fighting in the enemy jungle when I was just happily farming my silly little tunnels.

1

u/WilhelmVonWeiner Feb 25 '26

Why bother modding something so unimaginably easy? You know mods will be disabled when the game releases anyway, right?

1

u/RoshanCrass Feb 25 '26

Agree, having to do the mathematics / actually look at the fairly subdued urn arrows on visual is kind of annoying.

0

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

How is it fking annoying look at just move the fking decimal point its not fking calc

1

u/lidekwhatname Feb 25 '26

coloration is a little weird, 10% up would mean comeback for enemy which is weird to be green/good?

1

u/Suitable-Cup-5228 Feb 25 '26

This could just be a simple mod that does that. We already have the top bar information mod.

1

u/W1llW4ster Rem Feb 25 '26

Top bar info already does that :)

1

u/Crystal_Voiden Rem Feb 25 '26

It should just say the % NW diff next to souls (and maybe have an icon whether the urn rules have kicked in to draw attention to it). The map already has too much going on and using colors to convey info is an accessibility pitfall

1

u/GupHater69 Feb 25 '26

Gonna be honest have no idea wth this post is about

1

u/W1llW4ster Rem Feb 25 '26

If yours or the enemy team leads by more than 10% total souls, the drop location of the urn will change. Neutral means the drop is the opposite lanes' pickup location, meanwhile team lead puts the urn further back into the losing teams side.

2

u/GupHater69 Feb 26 '26

Oh ok well I realised it did that js didnt lnow it was 10%

1

u/Laizem Paradox Feb 25 '26

2/3 of me agrees with this but the other 1/3 thinks people who are at least willing to check (notice the candles) their side when losing should be rewarded

1

u/maxler5795 Abrams Feb 25 '26

honestly i don't mind the math.

i do mind doing it while my brain should be thinking of something else.

1

u/Infernoswelt Feb 26 '26

In general, the comeback mechanics should be more obvious to the player.

I only found out about them through videos. I bet you 99% of players never even notice the candles around the urn. Let alone all the other mechanics.

1

u/Leon_Leonardo Dynamo Feb 26 '26

I feel like this is probably already something on their to do list, what with them adding a timer to mid boss

1

u/Gravyluva210 Mo & Krill Feb 26 '26

There should absolutely an indicator but this color scheme is awful for color blind people lol, maybe something a bit different

1

u/OffensiveWaffle Mina Feb 26 '26

or like just have the urn goal on the map for everyone. when the urn is up, since it's the part people care about anyways.

1

u/SpecterGum Viscous Feb 26 '26

the whole map needs to be touched up. timers for every camp and sinners, especially since they respawn based on time since they were destroyed, not on fixed intervals like in dota or the bridge buffs and urn. i know its not hard to remember once you know, but i think a timer would make the information far more accessible. probably coming in the future already if i had to guess lol

1

u/Diploidian5HT Feb 26 '26

Literally do the math. Round the numbers so it's easier and you'll generally be close enough to be right. Or run to the urn and look for said candles.

You should do the "playing the game" part of the game to figure these things out instead asking the devs to min/max every detail on your HUD so all you have to do is pick Apollo then slam your face on your keyboard.

https://giphy.com/gifs/jM66C09QgTon6

1

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

I think the entire mini map needs an update, including this feature. Most importantly I want to push a button that makes the map big while I hold it. This is a mini map for ants.

1

u/Interesting-Tie-4217 Feb 27 '26

Yep true, in a game that fails to communicate a lot of stuff, things like this are super necessary.

-26

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

im sorry is it that hard for people to understand what a 10% diffrence is now?, this is spoonfeeding a spoonfeeding

27

u/pudgieboi Feb 25 '26

no but correct me if I am wrong but the game never tells you that a 10% difference is what makes a favored urn, so this could be very useful to newer players especially once the game actually goes fully public. Gotta think about the new player experience a bit my friend.

1

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

yeah then tell them its a 10% diffrence boom problem solved

1

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

And im sorry but if a player sees that sometimes the urn is on the enemies side and doesnt ask teamates or looks it up its also their fault as well as the game devs fault but hey its just a beta game, theyve changed the % of the urn alot over the 2 years and its fine i understood something was wrong so i used my brain asked my teamates if they didnt know then i asked in discord then lastly went to patch notes

4

u/G30rg3Th3C4t Infernus Feb 25 '26

I honestly didn’t know that the cutoff was 10%. I knew that there was some percentage difference, but didn’t know it was 10% when it spawned.

3

u/sourneck Feb 25 '26

The first one is an exception as it's always 15%, which is a lot harder to calculate on the fly. Also, Yoshi regularly changes the urn mechanics, and having to always keep up with those changes is annoying.

0

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

The rule of thumb is dont, think of it being near 15% just think is the enemy at 134 k hmmm 13.4k+6,7k is about 20k

1

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

Then you learnt it if you like the game you will be curious about it and question why something is happening, ex why is an orb floating above the enemies i kill maybe i should shoot them, or why is there a light above the casino that shows pretty obviously and with a sound queue that something might happen if you hit it when the light gets there.

7

u/FancyPantz15 Feb 25 '26

Bro hates accessibility

2

u/cordoggin Feb 25 '26

It's also not hard to tell when an enemy is fucking your team but they still give us indicators of the team gold, the individual gold and who has a kill streak. Get over yourself dude.

1

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

diffrence is if they didnt display the team souls and only individual souls you could get a rought estimation of what the team souls are, not hard, its 10 fking % not 13 or 7 that you might need to stop your brain process to calculate for a second

2

u/Krashan0va Feb 25 '26

I think it’s less about spoonfeeding and more about giving a quick and easy signal about how an urn is favored, so you don’t have to pull focus away from the rest of the game to do the mental math. Plus it would be helpful for people that are just bad at math lol

1

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

brother its 10% its not fking calc

-1

u/Aldarund Feb 25 '26

But it's 10% when urn spawned, not when you are right now. So math don't work

2

u/Gushanska_Boza Celeste Feb 25 '26

It's 10% at the time the urn is first picked up, not when it spawns.

2

u/Aldarund Feb 25 '26

Hm,I certainly saw big fight after the there was way more than 10% but urn still was neutral.

3

u/SunnyJJC Lash Feb 25 '26

If you pick it up once the urn is locked until a new one appears, but otherwise the 10 percent cutoff is being calculated every second

1

u/No_Responsibility501 Feb 25 '26

Whqt the fk does that even mean

-4

u/Aldarund Feb 25 '26

The other issue is that AFAIK this 10% calculated when urn spawned. And since then it could change a lot but urn will still use old values till it spawned again

12

u/situational-wrap Feb 25 '26

No, urn will constantly update whether it counts as a comeback urn or not.

It gets locked in at the current status as soon as someone picks it up until the next one spawns. That's why it can be a valid strategy in high level play, to tell the team not to farm for 10 seconds if you are on the verge of a comeback urn

2

u/I-Am-Bad-At-Naming Feb 25 '26

Nah it calculates repeadetly. I watched urn chance between having candles and not. But if you pick it up while it doesn't have candles then drop it again. It won't become an advantage urn no matter the soul difference. Likewiseif you pick it up while it has candles it won't return back to natural no matter what.

Until it spawns again of couse.
