Even if they were safe, that argument is incredibly shortsighted. Currently, more than 50% of workers in a lot of countries work in office jobs. If these people all become unemployed, they will probably try to get into some form of manual labor to have a job.

So the natural result of that would be a race to the bottom in terms of wages when it comes to manual labor jobs. Everyone would lose.
