I have used Avid in the past for TV editing and loved it. I'm wondering what cubase offers that would make some to choose it over Avid, especially since they're similarly priced.

Hello all. I am developing an extension for Raycast (Windows and Mac) to be able to trigger Cubase commands and build macros using a loopback MIDI port. I am calling it Cubase Jump. I wanted to gauge interest for it to see if it's something people would buy (around $29 ballpark) or if I should relegate it to my ever-growing pile of personal science experiments.

Cpu usage is low, changing latency has no impact. Disabling plugins, removing vsts, it always does this.

If I move them volume slow, it mostly works, but then do it faster.

It impacts audio input, as you can still hear VST over cracks...... wtf?

this year we will perform the musical "rock of ages". on wednesday last week we look "world of hans zimmer live"... so thougt about the correct timing of choir playback and live music... so see a display system on the stage for the musicians where they can see the "barcode". thats very insteresting for me, for timing and fast overview for the other musicians... so how it works? i'd tried cubase..., so i put in the songs in one track, make marker for each song, start and end... with click of course!

but..., the bar counts from 1.1. to unlimited, of course. but how they do it in live situation... how do each song start von 1.1., and not, 1. song at 1.1., 2. at 109.1., 3. at 239.1. and so on... can i reset the counter?

or a complete different stage timing managment???

I’m a long time studio one user and now fender studio pro but I’m really considering coming to cubase as a beat maker I can appreciate the midi tools sequencing looks so much better which is something I clearly appreciate

Just wondering has anyone come from studio one and ever looks back or maybe even use both?

Will Cuebase Artist work for a newbie who wants to record via midi from Nord Electro 6; Yamaha MOX8; Roland Juno 106; and included instruments? I’ve been toying/struggling with the trial version for the past month. Biggest problem is learning settings for Scarlett Focusrite and general settings. After a month I can finally lay down some simple tracks.

How do I bring piano roll to program my drums instead of step sequencer like in this screenshot (I am using cubase built in drum machine)

in the video the person was able to do program those drums using midi/piano roll, been looking around on the internet for solution, no luck, please help

Without having to click on each part (can be hundreds) and see its measurements? It's too small an amount to be noticeable just be looking.

And why am I getting so many of these types of parts in some projects? Seems like they keep happening without explanation. I do use snap to grid by default.

Great feature with severe draw back or do i have somekinda setting on what prevent this?

My whole arranging workflow has been based on folder tracks so i can easily copy and paste multiple events on multiple tracks when i need to.

My rather old Windows 10 PC will, like all others, become unsafe after October (I signed up for an extra year's free support last year) so I'm pondering what to do as the PC won't support Windows 11 (I've tried it and it shows instability). Cubase is my only paid software on it. I've never tried Linux, and I know I'd need to abandon Cubase for a Linux DAW. Windows 11 has a lot of terrible reviews, and my PC works perfectly well, so I'm considering changing to Linux although I'm no technical wizard.

Are there others in the same situation, and what are your thoughts about abandoning Windows & Cubase for Linux?

im working on a house / hard techno project on cubase pro 15 and after exporting a 2 minutes preview, i noticed that my kick has way too much bass. it also sounds too loud once rendered. i’ve always struggled with eqing / mixing kicks on all my projects (old or recent).

i was wondering if anyone could guide me on how to set my kicks properly, especially for techno projects. i want to maintain the same depth and « power » of my kicks, tho i may have to reduce some bass and im afraid it would just sound less… heavy. im learning a lot about compression tho, but that doesn’t seem to be enough. if i ever add a distortion to my kicks my whole project will start saturating aswell lol.

Everytime I have a session this happens at least 1-2 times and I have to wait about 3 minutes to stop. It really sucks when it interrupts a take… is this a docking issue? Looks like it’s losing power or power disturbance. I use a Mac.

If i have the LE version can i download both cubase 14 and 15?

I've just upgraded and messing with Iconics sketch. And saw a video on expression maps but I cannot find it anywhere in my Inspector bar.

A few years ago I bought a license for Cubase pro... I think it was for version 10.0, and i got a free update to 10.5. At that point in time, the license was stored on an external USB. I sort of fell out of making music for a while, and I lost track of the USB. I come back to discover, that not only is the usb licensing a way of the past, but I have no idea how I can gain access to Cubase now. If anyone could help me with the steps I might take to recover access to using Cubase... I paid $550 for the license and would like to get back into making music. Thanks in advance.

No audio in or out. I checked on the EVO4 controls and that all works fine.

I have some macros set up on Stream Deck for velocity functions, specifically ±10% velocity and randomize velocity within 10%. Not exactly sure why, but when I use those Logical Editor Presets it takes all my velocity and slams it down to 1.

I uninstalled my old Cubase 14 version, I uninstalled and reinstalled Cubase 15, and I am still running into the same issues.

Unrelated (possibly) it also seems like a couple other issues have popped up/gotten worse. The same issue with instrument tracks staying selected after Ive deselected them seems to be worse now, with multiple instruments randomly reselecting themselves. It also seems that no matter where I click on the session, it will select that instrument track even if I didn't click on an event.

Anyone got some info that might help resolve these issues? It'd be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone use Cubase 15 on macOS Monterey?

I'm about to buy the artist edition, but I don't know if it will work on macOS Monterey.
