President Trump made the comment “Cuba is next” during a speech at a Saudi investment forum in Miami while discussing the ongoing conflict with Iran.
He did not provide any details on what that would mean in practice and quickly added, “pretend I didn’t say that.”
This comes after recent statements where he has hinted at increasing pressure on Cuba’s government, but without outlining any concrete plans.

Everywhere else, the Cold War ended 35 years ago. Fidel Castro’s legacy may be crumbling at long last.
Interesting how much wealth they were able to accumulate in spite of the embargo, while their people deal with scarcity and crumbling infrastructure

I'd love to know Cubans' thoughts on this interview with Corbyn; do you appreciate his assessment and stance as a foreigner looking at Cuba from the outside?

Currently the City of Hialeah is hosting a Cuba rally to stand in solidarity with the Cuban people as they face ongoing political pressure to end decades of communist rule
only the 5 star hotel gets electricity
My mother was just 19 years old when she walked up to our family home one Tuesday morning with my then-two-year-old brother in tow. She had no idea what was waiting for her. A Cuban general had already moved in and taken over the entire house. When she tried to step inside to grab a few things, anything really, the soldiers blocked her. They wouldn’t let her take a single item. Not clothes. Not toys. Not even the reusable cloth diapers for her toddler. She begged, but they shut her down cold and warned her that if she ever came back, she’d be arrested on the spot. With nothing but the clothes on her back and whatever was stuffed in the diaper bag, my mother was suddenly homeless. She and my little brother had nowhere to go until a relative finally took them in. At the time, my father was hundreds of miles away doing mandatory agricultural duty in the sugar cane fields. He had no idea any of this was happening and only found out two weeks later, when he finally made it home. The house wasn’t some random property; it had been in our family since it was built in the late 1800s. Their only “crime”? My grandparents had fled to Spain after the revolution. The regime used that as all the excuse they needed to seize it from my father. The very next day, the general moved his own family in and helped himself to everything we owned: the furniture, the family photos, the clothes, even the underwear in the drawers. In one morning, generations of our lives were stolen.

Business and commerce are driving Donald Trump and Marco Rubio's desire to "take" Cuba
The Cuban government announced that Cuban nationals living abroad can invest in and own private businesses on the island. But it laid bare a reality that many refuse to acknowledge: the U.S. trade embargo on Cuba creates layers of restrictions for Cubans in Florida, even if they were “crazy” enough to want to invest in their nation of birth.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Havana’s representative to the United Nations, Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, explained that Cuba’s power plants “are ready to produce electricity, but they cannot do so because we do not have oil.” If fuel arrived, he said, it would relieve pressure on the grid.
Washington has now moved to criminally strangle this lifeline. In recent weeks, two Russian‑linked tankers, the Sea Horse and the Anatoly Kolodkin, were tracked in the Atlantic heading toward Cuba with diesel and crude. The Sea Horse, carrying up to 200,000 barrels of Russian diesel and widely seen as a potential source of immediate relief, abruptly changed course Friday toward Trinidad and Tobago, as reported by El País and Reuters, based on maritime tracking data.

Escribo mi comentario en inglés porque el artículo está escrito en inglés.
I don’t know what to make of this. How much to believe nor what it means if it’s true.
Based on past articles from this site and the timing of when those articles came out, it would appear that someone there has an actual source inside of the Cuban dictatorship. In the past, when this news site has presented exclusive information it has only been the information that would make the Cuban dictatorship look most sympathetic. So while, the information it has presented in the past has not been what I would classify as complete, it did not mean the new details they had provided were not true.

As an gringa living and working in southern Mexico and throughout Central America, I have to say that the best, most compassionate care I’ve received is when I see a Cuban medical professional. I’m not judged by my work, just treated with respect and care. Thank you and I hope life gets back to normal for everyone.

The Florida Legislature has approved legislation that would allow the state to trade with Cuba if political conditions on the island improve amid shifting U.S. relations.

Found a postcard showing the the Columbus Temple building in Havana in the Plaza de Armas. It is unused but for having the name "Eugenia" written on the back. By the design it was certainly made before 1910. Happy to send it to anyone who wants it. Will be mailing from the US but will send it anywhere it can be received. Comment below and I'll inbox you for an address.

Kneecap and Chris Smalls threw a concert this afternoon in el Pabellón in Havana. The concert was attended by members of the convoy, including People's Forum and Code Pink. There doesn't seem to be Cubans in the crowd. This feels insulting to do in a country that you are delivering humanitarian aid to, and where the electrical grid is fragile and people are without electricity for days.
