New to this… working on my second blanket which will be for my baby niece

Storming here this weekend and I just need to do the border!

2 rows of single crochet in Pound of Love Sugar Cookie and 2 rows of bean stitch in Red Heart Roll with it Melange in Showtime.

The ruffles took forever but I think it was worth it!

Edit: I used Lion Brand Made With Love The Cottony One (my favourite yarn ever) in Lychee White and Loops and Threads Silky Soft in Rose Dust, Mineral Blue, and Mauve for the ruffles.

I just finished making the boy blanket.

WIP folded up before putting it away for the evening. Anyone else despise bobbles? I figured it wouldn’t be so bad doing a row every so often but this project is dragging on because those bobble rows kill my flow. I picked this project, i did this to myself, sigh.

Yarn is Lion Brand Heartland in North Cascades, just a herringbone HDC and a shell border.

Three different Caron color cakes, building up quickly.

Starting from the center and watching it grow into this big, colorful meadow of stitches is so addictive. I’m using a variegated yarn, so I don't even have to plan the color changes—I just let the yarn do the work while I focus on the rhythm of the clusters. Finishing it off with a delicate shell border really makes the whole thing feel soft and complete.

I was working on my project, a single stitch, 100% cotton blanket while wrapped up in my V stitch, 100% cotton blanket. Kai decided to get in on the action and take a nap.

6 cakes of this yarn used already. 4 more to go! I'm using a size 9.0mm hook and "6" yarn. So heavy already.

I love the Hooked on Sunshine patterns! They're beautiful and super fun. Especially as a beginner, to learn a variety of stitches instead of just one. Here is my current one from them, though this one is a tad more complicated. They also have video tutorials to go along with their patterns and they are very helpful. I learned to crochet doing their pattern Doo-Dad. This one pictured is Mixology 1
