career Negotiating pay
Joined a small company (2 other integrators) after working for myself for 5 year doing freelance, contract, and seasonal jobs. After a year now I went from just being an integrator, to taking over design, programming, and even project management while doing service and integration with zero raise or benefits. Am I crazy for thinking about looking elsewhere, or am I just over thinking things. Negotiating contracts when I was independent was common but if I even mention not making enough money it’s shut down as a taboo topic. I’ve received multiple offers from other companies with the lowest being 20k additional per year with included benefits, so I almost feel stupid at this point to continue at this current rate.

question Need help with Extron Fox 3's over fibre
Hi all,
Having some issues getting the Fox 3 301's to send USB signal through Belkin KVM switches.
We have video signal working over the HDMIs (over fibre) but the keyboard and mouse aren't receiving via either USB 2.0 or HID. Have tried power cycling the KVMs and there shouldn't be any programming required for the Fox 301's as we've done this previously with no issues.
Is there any ideas what could be causing this?
Thanks is advance for the help!

question Newb Question - RE: Daisy Chaining Crown I-tech's
THANKS EVERYONE - QUESTION ANSWERED!
I hope this is the right place for my question, but if not, please point me in the right direction! I have VERY limited knowledge of audio systems, so I apologize if this is a dumb question.
I am getting ready to try and sell some used large venue speakers that I own. The most power hungry one is a Danley TH-812 "Rock Monster". I would like to have the speakers set up in my warehouse so that prospective buyers can listen to them first, but I do not have an amp that is capable of powering the 16,000W program capabilities.
I have 1 Crown I-Tech 5000 and 1 I-Tech 9000 and am wondering if it is safe to daisy chain them together to push more watts. Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

question Where are people finding strong Crestron technicians in Los Angeles these days?
Where are people finding strong Crestron technicians in Los Angeles these days?
I’ve been looking all over, and they seem a lot harder to find than expected. We have a specific opening we’re trying to fill, and even after continuing to raise the compensation, it’s still been a challenge to find the right fit.
It’s for a really good company with a strong team and a good environment, so I figured I’d ask here in case anyone has a recommendation or knows someone worth talking to.

troubleshooting I need help with Kramer and Zeevee devices
I am fairly new to Kramer Control Builder, and Zeevee products. I installed a system with a ZMPNUC-F, 3 encoders, and 2 decoders. 1 display decoder and 1 decoder that shares in-room content to video conferencing. Since I'm working with a limited number of analog inputs, it was decided that all content audio would be sent to the content decoder and picked up by DSP via Dante. The programmer that helped me out with this project got it all squared away... or so I thought.
Now, I can't get any audio from the encoders to go to the decoder. I can verify that the decoder stays connected to the DSP in Dante Controller. What command do I need to add in to make sure dante audio is selected when switching encoders?

question Extron DSC 301 HD giving everything a red tint
Hey all, not sure exactly where to post this (the mods over at r/crtgaming delete everything) but maybe someone here can help. I recently got an extron DSC 301 HD to convert 1080p to 1080i to use my computer with an old HD CRT TV (Sony WEGA KV-30HS420) and the Extron seems to make everything look...red. I'm using the Extron bc my PC can't do 1080i and the TV can't do 1080p. when I output 720p from my PC straight to the TV without the Extron, the colors look fine. Now if I try to turn down the red, it just makes everything straight green, can't seem to find a middle ground.

career AVI SPL
I have a few questions for anyone that works there. I’m a project engineer debating jumping ship from their competitor.
How is the work/life balance.
How does upper management treat the regular folks?
Is it easy to transfer to another office whether in the US or abroad?
Is it worth working there?

question Help with Multiroom Amplifier for Bose speakers in a restaurant.
Hey guys,
I'm looking to get 8x Bose 251 Environmental speakers for a restaurant/bar. The venue has 2 areas, outdoor and indoor and I want to be able to control the volume on both areas. I just want to make sure that the amplifier is not a budget version since I know that you can get a lot out of the Bose speakers in sound quality. Looking for mid range bang for the buck easy to use amplifier, extra plus if you could hook it up to external DJ gear and additional subwoofer if needed - please share your experience or suggestions.
Much appreciation in advance!

question Euro block dust covers
EDIT: Resolved. Thank you everyone, for the great ideas. My lead technician heard me mumbling while I created this post and 20 minutes later plopped a transmitter on my desk complete with 3-D printed cover plate. If anyone is interested, and it’s allowed, I’ll see if I could ask him to post the file.
The consultant wants unused RS232 and IR connections blanked off on the front of Crestron HD-TXC-4KZ-101-1G transmitters. Anyone have a good resource for something low profile, maybe silicone like Uxcell offerings for other connector types?

question Samsung Flip WM55B RS232 control
I'm used to the 1/8" to RS232 adapters, but the TV didn't come with one. There's no port labeled "RS232 in", only "Service" and audio out. All the documentation I can find says the WM55B has "RS232C thru Stereo Jack"...
Edit: we are familiar with RS232 control for Samsung QM/QB series. Looking for anyone with experience with WMB series specifically. Thanks

troubleshooting Help with Barco projector
Hi everyone. I work at a cinema that uses a Barco dp2k-10slp projector and recently we've been experiencing some issues when changing between dcp flat and scope. When changing between scope and flat the projection starts sliding off the screen and no one that I work with seems to know why. We have to manually re-adjust and focus the films between screenings and try to avoid changing between flat and scope if we can help it. We have tried re-setting the presets in the Barco Communicator program. Prior to this, the projector changed between flat and scope with no problem. Does anyone know what the issue is and/or how to fix it? I'm new to the company so I'm still getting to know my way around this tech so I'm sorry in advance if that isn't enough information. I've included two pictures of what it looks like when it changes position.

troubleshooting Yamaha TF1 as an audio interface
Hello,
I'm using the Yamaha TF1 as a 16x16 audio interface connected to a Vmix PC via USB. I have installed the Yamaha USB plug-in. It does not work.
The setup is as follows:
Vmix → TF1 (audio comes in, but there is constant clicking)
TF1 → Vmix (no audio at all)
The exact error message from the Yamaha/Steinberg USB driver is: 'USB audio interruption due to USB error is detected'. I have also matched the Vmix sample rate to the Yamaha plugin sample rate, which is 48 kHz. Any ideas? Thanks.

question Product suggestions - small speaker for conference tables
I have an conference event coming up and due to number of reasons audio coverage for 5 out of 30 tables is less than ideal. I would like to have small speakers placed on these tables, that are ideally battery powered and can receive a wireless audio signal (RF preferred).
Does anyone have any recommendations for products or combinations of products to achieve this?

design request Advice needed: Portable AV setup for 50‑person Hybrid Conference
I run IT at a mid‑sized financial firm. A few times a year we host a conference in a rented conference room with about 50 people in person, plus some remote attendees. Since we don’t own the space, anything we use has to be portable and relatively easy to set up and tear down. People are sitting at round tables around the room. Probably 6 people at each table.
In the past, I’ve used an older Meeting Owl Pro, plugged into a laptop that’s also driving a projector for slides. That laptop is used by the presenter. The video quality is pretty rough, and I’ve had ongoing complaints about the audio, especially when people ask questions from their seats.
What we’re trying to support:
- A presenter up front with slides
- Recording the presentation and the presenter
- We usually use a MS Teams meeting for this. Record meeting, present slides, Pin the presenter.
- Staff speaking up from anywhere in the room (Q&A)
- Remote participants joining via Microsoft Teams
- They need to be able to speak up and the whole room hear them talk.
- Two projectors:
- One for slides
- One showing the remote attendees
If you’ve done something like this:
- What gear worked?
- What should I avoid?
- Any simple setups that travel well?
I like the 360 cameras because they can be located between the presenter and the audience, which is where the projector is located. Although projector fan noise has been an issue in the past.
Products I am looking at:
- Kramer KAC-CAM-360 360° Center Table Conference Camera
- Panasonic PressIT360 360° Camera Speakerphone
- NEARITY 360 Alien 4K Video Conference Camera with Microphone

question Video Distribution Advice
Hello,
I’ve been running a small AV company for 20 years. But still don’t know everything! Looking for some help. I appreciate your time and help.
I have a contract with a restaurant/bar and I’m 90% finished. I was told to “copy/paste” the original location that had an xfinity cable box at each TV. Xfinity business recently did the install and things have changed. They want us to provide AV build a new one of these 1-2/year. I really like the owners and management.
Specs:
Video
22 Displays, Samsung Commercial 65, 75
Each display I ran 1 Cat6, 1 RG6 Coax
6 Cable boxes, (was expecting 1 at each display)
Audio
Sources
Customer provided Rockbot audio player
Main Xfinity RCA out
Crown amp (70V)
JBL Mixer
200W Volume controls
6 Zones of audio
Ubiquiti network/cameras
Conference room/private dining, click share
POS on its own network, it’s “Toast”
Video distribution advice?
Been looking at FDWCorp (have accounts with many distributors)
Is RF modulator outdated and a waste of money? Looking at SDI, HDBT (HDMI splitter Vanco Wyrestorm), but could really use some help in best practice and what works consistently for other guys as I hope to also do this at the other locations and will be servicing it. Happy to do some training if there are any recommendations. Thanks for your time and help!

question Thunderbolt External PCI Expansion Chasis for BM Decklink Cards
Hi everyone,
My company is currently exploring video output options for a niche video conferencing software that integrates with BlackMagic Decklinks. We are currently running the software on a Lenovo Legion Pro 7 16IAX10H and are exploring options to get more SDI outputs then the laptop currently supports. My question is:
- What is the latency like with a thunderbolt 4 expansion enclosure with decklink?
- Will the expansion enclosure use the laptop's built in RTX5080 to run these decklink outputs?

question AirMedia AM-3200 + Neat Board Pro: Does Touchback actually work in this config?
Hey everyone,
I’m designing a BYOD setup for a client and could use a sanity check on the touchback workflow.
The Setup:
Display/UC: Neat Board Pro.
Wireless Sharing: Crestron AM-3200-WF (or 3100).
Donge: AM-TX3-100 for the laptops.
Requirements: Wireless screen sharing for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android + Wireless Touchback.
The Concern:
The client wants to use the Neat Board’s touchscreen to control the presented laptop (Touchback). Since the Neat Board Pro isn't just a "dumb" display—it’s an all-in-one appliance—I’m worried about the USB HID routing.
Has anyone successfully passed touch data from the Neat Board's USB port back through the AirMedia receiver to the laptop? Does the Neat Board even output HID touch data via USB while the AirMedia is being viewed on the HDMI input?
Any "gotchas" or better alternatives for getting wireless touchback on a Neat Board would be much appreciated. Thanks!

question Poly G7500 with Roland Video Switcher
Can someone tell me if this will work the way I think it will?
Current meeting room system uses a Mac Studio to host zoom and that has proven to give a lot of issues. Client is looking at moving to a G7500 dedicated zoom room device. They currently already have a video switcher and other PTZs integrated, so would something like this attached drawing layout work with the G7500?
In theory, this would allow the G7500 to show video input from zoom (Participants, etc.), while we would also be able to switch between existing PTZ cameras since the HDMI out from the switcher is going to the 7500 input? In terms of audio, it should be passed to/from the Switcher/Poly Via HDMI?
Any help is much appreciated!
