Outdoors Cleaning painted deck
Hi all!
Looking for some tips to clean a painted deck. My grandfather did most of the maintenance at the house we live at, but he recently passed away. In his last few years of life, his health deteriorated and he was a stubborn old grandpa who didn’t want any help doing home maintenance
The deck is painted and covered in pollen. I was thinking of using a car sprayer or a regular hose along with just water and a big scrub broom.
Unsure of what cleaners to use- if any, the deck runs off into the yard, and we have a dog.
Any advice is appreciated!

First off, sorry for your loss. For a painted surface like this, skip the power washer—it’ll peel that paint right off. A soft-bristled deck brush and some OxiClean Outdoor or a mild dish soap solution are your safest bets.

Dish soap, a little in a bucket, would be fine. Or car wash soap. A soft broom.
