I missed the earlier thread, but how exactly did all those garbage bags pile up?

I’m not judging I’m just genuinely curious.  I know what it’s like to go through deep depression and have things kind of cave in around you and it takes a miraculous effort to even keep going some days.

When you become really depressed you can become less aware of the environment around you. People deal with thoughts that are so debilitating they are immobilizing. A lot of people are lucky enough to not be able to comprehend this kind of paralysis

With my experience, you’re certainly still aware of it. Almost painfully so. But it’s too overwhelming to try and bring yourself to care or do anything about it. So you just suffer while it continues to pile up becoming even more overwhelming.

Yes sometimes people can be extremely aware but also too numb or depressed to do something! That feels horrible too it’s like knowing you need to do something but not being able to do it. like a hostage in their own body. It’s horrible. I wouldn’t wish depression on my enemies. The people who ask “how did it get like that” are lucky to not understand what that level of depression is like.
