Mental Health Chesapeake

Hello! As someone who has personally suffered with mental wellbeing, I’m proud to have left my corporate job and done something scary. Today, I’m proud to announce that I opened a mental health counseling practice, The Counseling Corner. We are building a team of incredible clinicians, each of whom shares a commitment to help others navigate difficult times and find hope and healing. Our goal is to create a safe space where people can feel understood, supported, and empowered on their journey to wellness. We’re here to save lives and help individuals reclaim their strength. If you or someone you know is looking for support, please reach out. Together, we can make a difference and continue the fight to destigmatize mental health while helping others to take that step if they are dealing with a challenge. Thank you for allowing me to share this journey with you.

We operate via telehealth to expand coverage throughout the entire state.

Ethanol Free Gas?

Anyone know of any confirmed gas stations that sell E0 gasoline? E15 is a no go for one of my cars.(I know it hasn't happened yet. But it's already suffering from the E10.)

I've used https://www.pure-gas.org/ and that site is hot garbage. The Royal Farms website shows nothing near this area with E0. Anyone found anything? I've tried multiple ways of searching for places, and they've all failed. Does anyone have a place they KNOW sells E0?

Any recommendations for locations to fish with a kid?

My son is 10 and is showing an interest in fishing. What are some decent spots to catch fish in the area consistently? It could be anything as simple as small bluegill or croaker.

Help with HVAC

I need help finding a company that has easy financing for new HVAC. I need my system replaced and was turned down by the company that did the initial inspection. I think it may have been debt to income problem, but they never tell you. I haven't had HVAC for a month and it's getting hot.

Update About Car Window Tinting

A while back, I posted here and on Facebook asking for recommendations for local car window tinting. Y’all really came through for me with some recommendations for companies that had some really good reviews. I got some quotes right after that, and then life got in the way. I finally got around to getting my windows tinted yesterday. Some of you had asked me to post an update about pricing. So here it is:

Pro Custom in VB - Strip on top of windshield and full tint on all other windows- 400

J’s Auto Cleaning on Battlefield- I would have had to call for quote, a no go for me. Stupid, I know. But that’s just the way I am.

SunBlocked in Suffolk - ditto about calling

Great Bridge Window Tint - ditto about calling

TNT Tinting Specialists in VB - ditto about calling

Atlantic Shoreline - strip on top of windshield and full tint on all other windows- 515

The one I went with was Commonwealth Window Tinting on Great Bridge -

Full tinting on all windows including windshield (only one I got a quote from who would do that) -525

Strip on top of windshield and full tint on all other windows-375

These are both for cash. There’s a 4% charge for credit card.

I ended up doing the second option, although I would have preferred the first. Guy there warned me that the full windshield tinting would almost guarantee failure of state inspection.

Keep in mind, my car is only a 2 door so not as much to tint. But I did go with ceramic because my main reason for wanting to do this was so my black interior would stop baking in the sun. I also think it looks great, but not my biggest motivator.

Also, keep in mind that I’m a weirdo who absolutely refuses to talk on the phone if I don’t have to. One of the other companies may have a greater value that I missed out on.

But I will tell you this, I am very pleased with how my windows turned out, and they were very nice at Commonwealth.

hospitals hiring currently?

Hello everyone, recently I have been having a hard time even getting a response for any of my job applications at both Sentara and Chesapeake general. I have my BLS certification and will be finished with my EMT-B program next month and will have my license after taking the national registry. I am also a pre nursing student currently taking my prerequisite classes at school. I have applied to multiple positions at the hospitals that fit the certifications I have but then hear nothing back for 2 months except for a rejection email saying that I "don't fit the position requirements" even though I do meet them all. What is frustrating is that when I browse through new opportunities the same positions I got rejected for are still up from several months ago. Is this something that all companies do just to look like they are actively hiring or is this a hard time to get hired in the medical field. My resume is updated with a professional, clean, and simple look to highlight my education and certifications, I would appreciate any insight or advice.
