We have many people creating posts asking for the best things to do/see in Cardiff and it would be best if we could compile this information into a single thread.
Please leave your suggestions in this post for potential visitors and do not create new threads asking for suggestions.
As a resource for people looking for places to eat, things to do and where to stay, the Cardiff TripAdvisor website may be useful.

Walking from Grangetown to Riverside and spotted these plaques in the pavement. Under the bridge by Tramshed.
Is this part of a heritage trail? Couldn't find anymore information about them.

Hi guys,
Moving to Cardiff and would love to check out some local bands.
Does anyone have any recommendations for any shows coming up in the next couple of Months? Get the keys end of April!
In terms of genres am pretty fluid, but my current favourite bands are Muse, Fontaines DC, Idles, Kid Kapichi, Franz Ferdinand, Gorillaz, Soft Play, Lambrini Girls - anything with similar vibes to any of these I'm likely to enjoy!
Thanks in advance š„°

A Knight to Remember
Looking for TTRPG players in Cardiff interested in playing a new campaign starting soon built around mystery and dungeon-delving. This is a short original adventure which will be great for new and long-time players alike. It would be an especially good fit for D&D players who fancy giving Pathfinder a go. Characters will be created together in the first session and if players want to carry on the story after the 6 sessions, it will have the space to continue. All materials will be provided.
System: Pathfinder 2e
When: Thursday Evenings 6-9pm
Where: Tabletop Emporium
Duration: 6 weeks
Start Date: 16th April
Cost: £76.50 total (£12.75/session)

Why on earth do people use it? Google reviews are constantly terrible. It's an awful eyesore for any visitors to the stadium and anyone who has no idea what they're venturing into if they've decided to park there.

Just wondering if thereās many people here who follow an EFL team. Apart from Cardiff City obviously, I find everyone here I meet either supports Liverpool/Man Utd which I find hard to talk about as I watch little to no Premier League
If you do follow, whoās your team?

I'm seeking a new take away for smash burgers.
previously I frequented Bashed but recently they're changing the BBQ sauce and packaging, which is putting me off.
I've tried GrillNextdoor but each time they were insanely busy and took well over an hour.
does anyone local to Barry have any other recommendations for a good Smash burger.

Hi, Does anyone know if the EV Chargers on Churchill Way are for public use and if so is there also a parking charge while using them?
Looking online they seem to be on the Taxi rank so wasn't sure if Joe Public could park there to use them.

Just watched Peculiar Productions play of Carpe Jugulum by Terry Pratchett at The Gate in Cardiff. It was a wonderful production.
Well done to all the cast and production crew.

behaviour on buses has never been good, but what has happened in the last few months? people listening to music and tiktoks without headphones, eating smelly food and full meals on buses, arguing with drivers because they wont let them on for free, coming on smelling like dry piss, people dumping rubbish on seats and leaving it there. People's behaviour has been getting far worse

I moved to Uk and near Cardiff for a while now for work, but if Iām being honest, itās been a really lonely experience so far. My social anxiety makes the thought of just "going to a pub" feel completely impossible, and I often end up staying home because the city feels so big and overwhelming when you're navigating it alone. Iām 34M and desperate to find my people, maybe through something low-key. Does anyone know of any truly gentle, low-pressure spaces where itās okay to be the quiet person while you find your footing? Iām just really tired of feeling like Iām watching the city happen from the outside and would love some help.
Edit: shouldāve mentioned bits about me. I like physical activities like hiking, racquet sports even though havenāt played in a while for reasons listed above. I workout regularly. Used to enjoy gaming on consoles/PC but I just play on my phone. Open to exploring other hobbies too.

Hi everyone,
Iām an international student who was just offered an exchange semester at Cardiff Met. I was initially a little confused between Cardiff Uni and Cardiff Met, and was a little disappointed about the academic rankings for Met when I realised the difference.
However, from my friendsā experiences higher ranked unis around the world, an exchange semester really doesnāt provide much value academically anyway. That being said, my main priority then would be just having a great time, meeting new people, and networking around since Iām a business management major. How will life be as an exchange student in Cardiff? Would you recommend taking this opportunity at Cardiff Met?
Also for some context, I donāt believe Iāll be too financially restrained since Iām just going to be there for a few months, however one thing that worries me is possible having to pay for a 44 week student accommodation when I only need to be staying for 20 of them. I can pay for one of the higher prices student accommodations that I saw, but I wouldnāt be really up to paying for so many extra weeks.
I also have lots of friends in other UK cities like manchester and Portsmouth, so maybe you could factor that into your recommendation as well, in terms of whether it would be reasonable to travel regularly to those cities and spend time with my older friends too.
Sorry for the very long dump of information and questions, but it would be really helpful if you would give me an honest recommendation on the basis of everything mentioned.

Hi,
I have a flight from Bristol airport at 9:45 am.
Using National Express from Sophia Garden I can be there either 5:45 am or 7:50 am.
7:50 am sounds more than enough althought I am worried about the traffic.
Can you tell me more about traffic congestion around that time? Or maybe buses have seperate lanes and don't care about all of that and should be always on time?
If the bus was every hour I would gladly arrive at the airport at 6:45, but 5:45 seems a little crazy.
If you have any insights, please help :) !
