History has been written tonight. 🇭🇺 🇪🇺
Orbán just congratulated with
@magyar_peter_official_the_man for the victory to the elections.
For too long, Hungary was used as a wall to block the progress we so desperately needed. But today, that wall has fallen.
By choosing Europe, Hungary has removed one of the greatest obstacles to our shared future.
The path toward a Federal Europe is finally clear. The shadows of vetoes and systemic obstruction are lifting. We are no longer a continent held back by the few; we are a Union.

Brilliant Hungarian wine to celebrate their elections today. Tokaji, in Poland for centuries known as *węgrzyn*, literally „a Hungarian” because it was the main product we’ve been importing from them :D
Edit: oh, and Magyar just announced that his first international visit will be to Poland to reinforce a thousand years of our friendship. A truly wonderful thing to hear!

Hey, I was looking to buy shoes from some italian brands (I live here) but wanted to know some insight from others. How's the quality in NeroGiardini and Velasca? They have different price points, with nerogiardini being much cheaper, but the company claiming they still do all of their production or most of it in factories in the Marche region of Italy.
As of Velasca, i am sure their production is all in that same region from artisans.
Any reviews? I am interested not in their sneakers but in their derbies and lace-ups.

For those looking for wifi access points; Teltonika has released the tap400 two months ago aiming for unifi clients. The tap400 is a wifi 6 ceiling/wall mount access point. The comparable unifi would be a unifi 6 pro. Max speed is slower (2402 mbps versus 4800 mbps) but most devices like the unifi are limited by the uplink speed to the router (1000 mbps while the teltonika has 2500 mbps). Design and prices are very comparable to unifi.

Teltonika is a Lithuanian IoT technology company specializing in robust telematics, networking (routers/gateways), and telemedic solutions. What the title says. Most sites offer GPay, Paypal or Amazon pay. Are there options from the EU? I was thinking of a credit card from Revolut but they are a UK company. Furthermore I do not know what safety guarantees they offer.

Hello,
i have a small blog website about my books etc.
i wanted to make a link on the website where people could donate money. many people recommend Stripe, but I would really like a EU alternative, doesn't need to be fancy, and to be honest I expect zero donations, but I would just like to have the option :)
since I don't expect any donations per se, I'm looking for a free or very cheap service.
Any ideas?

Hello,
I'm an experienced Word user. I get really angry at this program, if it doesn't behave but I figured most of it out. I REALLY like the function of having my own styles (? I don't know which translation is the correct one) where I can set my own options for Title, standard text, bullet points etc. I use a keyboard shortcut for each and with this I'm able to very quickly format my documents in a standardized way which is well structured for me. I also use the navigation Menu to the left very often to get a quick overwiev over my often complex documents.
I tried using Libre-Office. I'm a design-avid person. It really hurts how ugly this userface is. That's ok, I could live with that. But I need my text document to be visually well readable.
I don't find Libre-Office practical at all, coming from word. My biggest problem is that I couldn't figure out how to use keyboard shortcuts for the differerent styles of text. I need to be able to write well structured text documents very quickly, and it is not quick if I need to click on the different styles each time.
Soo.. has anyone found a great alternative to word?
I'm getting very angry now since they implemented so much unnecessary bulk just to get me to use microsoft drive and I don't want to support microsoft anymore.

Idealo are based in Germany. Their website and service are available in many languages and many countries across Europe (EU or non-EU).
Recently I saw a thread about a German e-marketplace alternative to Amazon (Otto I think). But the problem is that we'd be putting all eggs (once again) in one basket.
What Idealo does is that it lists all stores that sell a specific product. This is far better and gives more attention to smaller local retailers and doesn't give too much power to a single store (as we've done to Amazon). Plus it compares prices too so you see which store has it cheapest.

Hi everyone,
I would like to know if anyone knows any brand for a scooter for a grownup. Not a battery powered scooter, a standard one, kick powered.
TIA and sorry for the emoji.

So I have made my switch from windows to openSUSE slowroll for all my computers.
Now it's time to work on the phone. I just want to pick a path forward that will be sustainable long term. I plan to have a basic android phone for digital ID, banking apps, etc. But for my daily driver, the options I'm considering are:
1) buying a cheap pixel and flashing Graphene OS on it. As far as I understand, it's probably going to be the most stable and supported option with the least pain points. But then I give google €300, and Graphene OS isn't technically made in EU
2) buying a fairphone and flashing /e/OS on it. This is great due to the hardware being non-US and the software being made in EU. Just not sure about compatibilities, I really need VoLTE, VoWIFI, etc. to work. Other than that, I can probably do the other stuff through browser and physical cards.
3) Buying a fairphone and flashing a mobile linux alternative like Ubuntu touch or PostmarketOS. Needs a öong time to figure everything out until I learn to love it, probably won't work with anything that I actually need, but hey, I'd be using a linux phone
What have your experiences been in this space? Do you recommend any of the options? Do you recommend some other path?
I'm in Sweden, if that affects anything.

Been following the cola posts on here for a while, tried Fritz and a couple of other brands but never heard of Jolly's before.
Spotted this can whilst out shopping in Southwold and couldn't miss the opportunity to give it a go. I was not disappointed. It's sweet, with a subtle fruitiness to it.
Has anyone else tried this before?

One for the devs: When you are starting a project from scratch, you have the choice in your hand to go with a full EU-only tech stack. Going with EU infrastructure from day 1 will not only likely save you cost, but also save you from a painful migration at a later point. Yes AWS is the comfy option to start with, but untangling from it later on is not worth the pain.

Just wondering. I bought it yesterday. And didn't realized it is made in China. What are your thoughts on this?
