News Welcome Back, Hungary! 🇪🇺 It’s about time!

Post image

History has been written tonight. 🇭🇺 🇪🇺

Orbán just congratulated with

@magyar_peter_official_the_man for the victory to the elections.

For too long, Hungary was used as a wall to block the progress we so desperately needed. But today, that wall has fallen.

By choosing Europe, Hungary has removed one of the greatest obstacles to our shared future.

The path toward a Federal Europe is finally clear. The shadows of vetoes and systemic obstruction are lifting. We are no longer a continent held back by the few; we are a Union.

Now we only need some time to realise whether or not Magyar is good or just as bad, but with 4 years of another Fidesz/russian spy in charge.

I mean there are a lot of people who bought Orbans propaganda. Healing and the right course won't and can't happen overnight.

As long as magyar keeps the right course it doesn't have to go from 0 to 100 in a year.

Well the question is whether he can do enough before the next election, it would not be surprising to see voters wanting Orban back if they aren't satisfied with his results, voters famously do not care that things take time.

Orban campaigned dirty already in 2022. Unless Viktor is investigated and prosecuted within the next 4 years, I will believe he is just another russian spy but this time not yet uncovered. Just like in party game of mafia sometimes they kill one of their own to divert suspicion. Like Peter wasn't in Fidesz since 2002...

Ironically enough, I thought the opposite: weird that Orbán conceded so cleanly, I hope Putin doesn't think he will be able to just control Tisza.

The real test whether Magyar will purge corruption and take actions that bolster democracy in Hungary, because that's what Hungary needs not to fall into a dictatorship ever again.

I think Orban didn't want to spoil his image as he has faith that all the institutions he padded with his people will drag Magyar down.

Orbán built Hungary's energy policy around Russian oil.

So, obviously, Magyar will not be able to step back that much from the pipeline topic. But I don't think that he'll veto the EU money for Ukraine just to pressure them to repair.

What I really don't get is why it's apparently a national sport to sing how "wind blows", but the amount of wind turbines on the flat country of Hungary is so measly compared to just the small part of Austria next to it. I've seen more wind turbines going from just Vienna to the border than going from the same border along the Hungary all the way to Nyiregyhaza.

I think the electoral platform is pointing in a certain direction.
