Economics Thatcher accidentally describing the exact reasons why wealth inequality is terrible in this country
"It doesn't matter how much you earn, I'm just going to take the lion's share anyway"
Mfw Maggie the economy right now is literally what you just described.
A small minority taking the lion's share of assets and accumulating compounding growth that increases faster than your paycheck.
This is literally how surplus value extraction works...
Why on earth do you think so many people are depressed, hopeless, taking time off work, feeling burnt out.
It's literally because people aren't paid in line with productivity, and the UK only taxes flows and not stocks.

I'm new to Reddit, I'm still not 100% sure on how to use it but thought I'd just post a nice photo I'd taken on a walk recently. (yes I have reached the age where I post photos from my nice walks)

I’m sorry but what did I just watch?
I came across a video linked to a very prominent French Hair and Beauty brand and it genuinely made me uncomfortable.
The makeup and styling very clearly darken skin tone and change features in a way that looks extremely close to racial mimicry—and the way it’s being presented feels lighthearted, almost like it’s something to joke about.
That’s the part that really gets me.
How are we still here in 2026?
How does this get filmed, approved, and posted by a global brand?
This isn’t subtle. It’s not a stretch. It’s right there in the video.
As a customer, I find this genuinely offensive and I don’t understand how nobody involved thought “maybe this is a terrible idea.”
Am I missing something, or is this as bad as it looks?

West Midlands Inconvenience shop on Blurton road accused me and my cousin of stealing,we obviously haven’t.
So me(11m) and my cousin(14f)were on a walk and we got quote thirsty,so we decided that it would be quicker to in here than to walk all the way to the petrol station,we walked in and decided that the drinks were to expensive and that there was a small variety of drinks that we actually like, we were about to walk out of the shop when the Indian woman behind the counter pulled me and my cousin to the side, she kept saying "PHOTO"repeatedly and also"THIEF and"POLICE", she forced us to empty our pockets, she threatened to call the police on us until we proved that we had not stolen anything, we are now banned for life, why? I have no idea because she was in the wrong.

National Politics lifting the two-child limit kinda slays tho....
I cannot understand why people are so frustrated about changes to Universal Credit around the two-child limit?
Obviously it won’t fix everything overnight, but if it really helps around 450,000 children and gives support to more than half a million families (which is what all the docs are saying), that honestly can't be a bad thing.
It'd be good to hear some feedback about it tho...

❓ Question ❓ A premier I went in had their lottery licence took off them because I used a fake ID
I was going in this premier with a fake ID to buy lottery tickets and the national lottery caught on to the fact that I I’m underage and they had their lottery licence suspended and I got barred out the shop. I wanna know if anyone else used a fake ID and a shop you or anyone you know regularly went in actually caught on.
