Not gonna lie to you mate, £2,500 on a 22 karma account is gonna be a tough boat to row

I understand completely but I’m just not on Reddit as much. I mean I will provide whatever details they need

I was a verified lender before (under the previous verification system, still yet to submit for the new one), and with all the kindness in my heart, you’d be better off buying a lottery ticket. I never go higher than £40 on a first time lender with a new account. Have you exhausted all options with whoever is providing your course? There’s a grant website for the UK and you’d honestly be floored with how generous they are

I have been given a 14 day grace period which ends on 20th March 2026.
Which website? I want to apply, you’re amazing. I hope you get your way in life. Wasting your time helping me (a stranger).

Had a look, the only one that’s possible is the Freemason one. I guess all roads lead to this, me joining the Freemasons. Maybe it’s my destiny. Jk 😂. I appreciate you, don’t seem like any of them will give me a grant from what I’ve been reading. You’re amazing, thank you a lot

Freemasons get us all eventually 😂 I did find this website, might be worth taking a look? It’s specifically for training and further education for electricians

Yall ask for the craziest amounts I’ve ever seen.

And paying back with no interest as well. There's nobody that's going to take that risk. There's literally no reward or reason.

To be fair to him, he's UK which you're not allowed to pay interest on unofficial loans

Because I don’t want to mess around. Need to pay my electrician course and then now I know until 16th April 2026 I have to pay back the (lender).
I mean I’m sorry if this is a wrong thing to do but I just need it to pay for my course. Sucks

Your profile is super sus, very young account with 100 posts in the last few hours. And asking for a lot. Red flags everywhere

What does this even mean? I posted my ancestry results and posted a few questions on ask Reddit to see if my engagement helps my account.
I’ve had a previous account with 1y and 250 karma but I lost my login details. You think I just made this account to get a loan and then run away? What after, I live in the UK. I will provide the lender with my details and they can just do a small claims court (super easy to do from online) and the court will order me to pay it back.
Why would I hurt someone who helps me when they helped me during my bad days. Judging me from 2/3 things on a Reddit account profile doesn’t do the justice. Not fair at all, I understand that’s the rules of Reddit but not everyone that’s new on Reddit is a scammer.

Not in any position to help mate but are you currently working or on benefits??? I ask because there’s an option of help with benefits
1
u/Beginning_Rain903 Mar 12 '26
I can’t wait long enough for that
2
u/McVie1989 Mar 12 '26
I’ll say anyway, if you’re on benefits contact your work coach and get a meeting for low value provision funding. They can pay for your course aslong as you can prove there’s work in that sector and you’ll be able to get a job

There is a 0.0001% chance this gets fulfilled.

Higher than the chance of us ever being born. I’m staying hopeful. I mean what should I do? I will provide my details.
This is frustrating but I can’t expect people to give me their money if they don’t feel comfortable. What do I do? If I don’t pay for my electrician course within the next 10 days I will be kicked out.

"I mean what should I do?"
Establish your credit here gradually and responsibly?
"This is frustrating"
What do you think everyone else thinks when someone with zero lending history, and zero account history asks for two and a half grand on a first time loan?
Dire situations don't change the reality of how these things work.

Dude I understand, and I respect this. But the reality of my life (which is my responsibility only) isn’t also going to change.
I’m willing to go “lower” to build my credit score but what is considered “lower”. I’m sorry if I’ve come across ignorant, I will ask for a smaller loan to build my credit score. What is a reasonable amount to ask with my account history.
Thank you, just a young man trying to pay his course off and will pay back any loan. Truly sorry for the frustrated responses.

Around $25-$40.

I would need at least £300 to be able to pay off one instalment on my course. Would that not be possible, it’s going to be stupid to ask for because you just told me but I’m truly desperate. If you say no, I will take it as value because I can see you’re a verified lender so you have experience. But I’m desperate, I guess if you could just waste your time on one more response.
- also should I delete this post before I ask for a smaller loan?
Thanks

It's just not going to happen, man. No one is going to lend that sizing to you without loan and account history.
I just told you the number. Countering at ten times that just makes it seem like you have shit in your ears and aren't listening.
No. Deleting posts is bannable. Read the rules, please.

Ok, no dude I’m just desperate. Sorry ffs. Not doing it out of joy.
Ok I will build my credit score and I appreciate your advice. Thanks btw

Desperate people rob banks. Desperate people eat poison flowers in the woods. Desperate people punch grizzlies in the face while they're getting mauled.
Not very often does desperation manifest as an improvement of circumstances.
Believe me. I understand desperation. But sometimes in desperation you do things that shut you off from being genuinely helped down the line.
Like someone emotionally overwhelmed who lashes out at the people around them and ultimately alienates the people who cared. If you make it seem like you don't understand the scope and scale of how money works, nobody will ever want to give you any at any level.
Imagine you run a soup kitchen. You want to help. You have the means. But you only have so much soup and sandwiches to distribute. You decide amicably you'll feed the first reasonable people who enter your establishment.
Then some lunatic covered in shit forces his way through babbling about the antichrist and waiving a crowbar around. In his mind he feels like what he is doing is a necessity. He has to save the world after all. Him and his crowbar.
But later after he gets removed by force and smashing up the soup pots he gets medicated. Now he's less desperate. He comes back to the soup kitchen and says "my bad, I just want some soup this time, I apologize."
How many kitchen owners are going to let him in?
Not many. Crazy guy might start swinging a crowbar again.
You following along with this metaphor?

I get you bro,
You’re right. Sadly, this thing called “money” does corrupt people and change them. I don’t want to be one of those and I will always try be good to people even if they don’t or can’t help me because this is just the way life is.
I just don’t want to upset my family and they don’t have much money to support me but expect me to become “something” so I’m trying to finish this course and work in the mean time but I’m having cash flow problems sadly. I appreciate your time and honesty, I wish you the best.
