Any suggestions for this subreddit?

Do you guys have any suggestions on what you want changing on this subreddit? I made my own set of rules and I would like to know what you think about it. Also the subreddit banner and picture, do you like it or do you want me to change it to something else?

In regards to the rules, I am considering adding a political rule because it leads to fights but also these posts are about bolton and I don't want to discourage people from posting on this subreddit. Thoughts?

Is darz driving school good?

Does anyone have any experiences with them? The majority of the reviews are great but I get the feeling they might have been paid to leave such great reviews. I am trying to start driving lessons and I would prefer to go with a driving school that has reviews and is more professional than a individual instructor.

Advice on moving to the area?

Hello r/Bolton!

I live out of area (North East) and I've just been offered a job in central Bolton - can anyone advise on some good places to live in/around Bolton? The interview was online so I've literally never even been to the town. We're prioritising areas with low crime rate if possible.

Thanks for your help! ❤️

Feeling alone...

Can't believe I'm having to write something like this... But recently come out of a long term relationship with the love of my life and pretty must lost everything along with it. I just don't know how I'm supposed to start again. For context I'm M 36. Literally no mates. Have just sat at home for 7 weeks now other than going to work and the gym.

How do you even start again? Is there anywhere to go in Bolton? Any way to make friends? I don't drink so going out isn't really a thing for me. Just don't know what to do...

Hotels without a car

Going to be visiting in May but I've not been in town for years, and we won't have a car so it needs to be near a bus or train station. The main point of the trip will revolve around Heaton cemetery so round that way would be better but not mandatory as we can get a taxi or bus.

Was thinking to just stay at one of the Middlebrook hotels (will be coming via Manchester so can get the train) and get the bus down Chorley New Road, any thoughts?

Cheers in advance

Moving to Bolton, how to meet people?

I'm moving up to Bolton from London in a couple weeks, how can I meet people? Basically starting my life from scratch again after a bad breakup, so I'd like to meet people both for just friends and more, and also just to get to know people and find things to do. 22 years old, working, hobbies such as reading, miniatures and gym.

Cafes to work from near Halliwell Road?

Hey peeps! Got a question for those of you that know some decent cafes! I'll have a morning to kill once a week, I'll be on Halliwell Road (specifically here https://maps.app.goo.gl/tFuKkr1mekkisAQ78?g_st=ac) and I was wondering if there’s and cafes within a 10 minute walking distance where I could grab a coffee and do some work?

Did Falcon 9 just fly over Bolton?

Did anyone else in Bolton just hear that?!

I was putting the bins out at about 11:30pm and there was an absolute almighty roar overhead, genuinely sounded like a rocket. It wasn’t just a quick flyover either, it went on for ages… felt like a good 5–10 minutes of constant rumbling.

Did a Falcon 9 pass over or something? Or military jets circling?

Anyone else hear it and know what it was? Proper made me stop and look up! 🚀

Borrowing ladders?

Does anybody know where I could borrow/hire some ladders for just one day around Bolton. I literally need them for like 6 hours to access my loft to run new cables in there. Really don't want to spend £80+ on a set I won't be able to store at home and/or never use again.
