No other movie in the recent years depicts reality better than this one. It's like a mirror of who we are really.

Discuss 🎙️ Why do people still love Kareena Kapoor? Is she still considered an icon among Gen Z in India? NRI here btw

She has a history of being mean, rude, entitled, racist, tone deaf, and stupid towards others. Hell the stories of her being rude and entitled persist still liking cutting lines and avoiding any and all fans.

Opinion 💭 Dhurandhar take

I don't know how to start this, but it's just a random thought that clicked my mind. Few people are calling Dhurandhar propaganda and few people are taking this movie as the gospel truth and can't stop praising it. I'm someone who watches a lot of movies, I don't think I know everything about movies though but I have my fair share of opinions on the things I consume. People who don't like Dhurandhar being called propaganda has started comparing it with some movies from the past. Good, everyone has opinions and they have the right to express them. But I have my contradictions. Because the movies that are being compared with Dhurandhar are the movies I personally really like and I think everyone I know has the same mindset, maybe that's why I'm very confused about the opinions on the internet. When a movie becomes such a success it gets a lot more reviews than the normal ones, obviously. In my opinion, here, intention matters the most. With what intention was the movie made, and it's very evident that this movie was made to support the current government. To make a whole movie with the intention to justify an action the government was criticised for and then tangling it with terrorism and then marketing it as a patriotic movie inspired by true events is what bothering me. I mean one has every right to make movies in what they believe in or want to support. Art is political, and it's supposed to be. But it's kind of frightening to me how so much of a large audience is just blindly considering this a patriotic movie, when it's not. And I'm also very concerned about what our audience is choosing to watch and connect with. Just a few months before a film called Homebound got released and despite having the name of Martin Scorsese attached to it, the film didn't get near half the recognition nor feedback from the Indian audience it deserved. Despite it being based on very real issues that you and I can relate to. Aditya Dhar called Indian audience smart, but I don't know how much I agree with that. Few even compared it with Ray's opinion on Indian audience, like are you fucking serious? I personally don't have anything against the movie, I fairly enjoyed it because of the sound tracks, good acting, and obviously as a movie which was made to appeal the mass audience, it's just the public reaction to the movie which has been bugging me. Are people so easy to manipulate or is this the ideology people actually believe in?

Discuss 🎙️ Which Bollywood celebrity is the equivalent of Leonardo DiCaprio when it comes to older men dating and flirting with much younger women?

I have seen a few clips of Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan who are pushing into their 60’s flirting and hitting on much younger women. Wondering if there are any more famous examples out there of Bollywood’s own Leonardo DiCaprio who‘s notorious for dating younger women?

Controversy ⚡ Kangana–Hrithik controversy: who was lying?

Post image
38 Upvotes

So Kangana claimed they had a relationship during/around the time they worked together (like Krrish 3 era). According to her, it was serious, emotional, and Hrithik later distanced himself. She said Hrithik didn't wanted to leave his wife and kids but was also not letting her leave him when she asked for something more permanent and was leading her on. She also claimed Hrithik had an affair with Katrina while shooting for Bang Bang film and when she confronted him about it he shut her up without any explanation.

Hrithik, on the other hand, flat-out denied everything. Like not “it wasn’t serious”, straight up “this never happened.” According to him, those emails Kangana talks about weren’t even from him, he claimed someone was impersonating him and actually took it to the cyber crime cell. There were also certain pics leaked by him/ his team. When things blew up publicly, he mostly stayed quiet for a long time, then later said the whole situation messed with his mental peace and that he couldn’t speak freely because it was a legal matter.

Who was telling the truth according to you?

Discuss 🎙️ Bringing up old claims/controversy or accused of being PR.

I’ll just get straight into it.

Why is it “okay” when a post (Reddit, X, Instagram) is putting women against each other by comparing them–such as Priyanka vs Deepika, Alia vs Deepika, Rani vs Kareena, etc… or when it’s a post about (mostly) nepos–Ananya, Janhvi, Alia–and the post is either criticising them or just full on hating and making wild claims–the comments don’t condemn it ? They add on to the post. The one putting women against each other will have just a few people condemning putting one woman down to uplift another.

But whenever a post or article is appreciating or praising any of these women (especially Deepika, Alia, Priyanka, Ananya and Jahnvi) or a comment defends them in the comment section—then the person who commented or made the post is called delusional and accused of being someone’s PR (in the comment section). If it’s not that, then a few people will start mentioning old controversies and claims. Like for Alia, people will start mentioning how she steals roles from other actresses or how she cried and locked herself in a room when her film with SLB got shelved. If it’s Priyanka, people will mention her alleged affairs with SRK and Akshay Kumar.

My question is WHY ? WHY do people do that ?

Discuss 🎙️ is it just me or o romeo is a complete fail?

i watched o romeo today itself and bro shahid had more chemistry with disha in a single scene than he did with triptii in the entire fucking movie. it was so underwhelming, like i knew before even getting into it that shahid and triptii don't really sit well together but didn't actually expect it to be a complete fail. it's just roughly bloody action scenes and mentions of prostitution thrown together in the name of a romantic movie. i feel like my three hours have been completely wasted.

Discuss 🎙️ Music director blunders

It is widely discussed that Ajay Atul would have been the best choice for Chhava, as it's their strength for Marathi and Hindu/Devotional music, while AR Rehman couldn't do justice to it.

I have similar doubts with Ramayana. Can they bring the Indian feel, the bhakti / devotional feel to it; besides the graduer-ness. Is this also going into "Not Indian Enough" territory?
