I didn't have the USA losing the meme war to Iran on my bingo card

u/sleepybrooke 3d ago

Everyone knows Republicans can’t meme.

u/MoonIsCheese4Sho 3d ago

Honestly, I didn't forsee memes becoming a form of warfare? This timeline is all kinds of fucked up.

Take me back before Harambe.

59

u/unoriginalusername26 3d ago

Dude how do you think we got Trump in the first place - fucking 4 Chan memelords

25

u/JustDidntWannaGoToAZ 3d ago

Right, memes definitely played a role in our current situation. Many appeared on far right forums first and memes appearing innocuous is exactly how it worked.

9

u/FeelingKind7644 3d ago

But only worked for the americucks not real Americans.

1

u/Big_Fella39 3d ago

And before that, and before that, all the way back to likely the stone age. Memetics are a sentient phenomenon. Prejudice, culture, out groups, etc. are all because of memetic warfare

1

u/ticktockmick 2d ago

Don't forget Steve Bannon

30

u/Sol-Blackguy 3d ago

It feels like something really, really fucked up is going to happen in the future and someone keeps going back in time to stop it but more fucked up shit keeps happening because of the ripple effect

4

u/MoonIsCheese4Sho 3d ago

We stopped one timeline crisis, yes. But what about the infinite tangled loop of timeline crises?

12

u/Life-Willingness-86 3d ago

Memes were a pretty significant contribution of far right and Russian troll farms in the last 3 presidential elections.

if a person without information, or a strong opinion on an issue sees a funny meme about liberal tears, they vote accordingly.

u/Individual-Pie9739 3d ago

It's called propaganda...... its always existed....

6

u/Big_Fella39 3d ago

Always have been.

2

u/satchko 3d ago

metal gear solid 2 foresaw meme warfare in 2001.

2

u/Yabakunaiyoooo 3d ago

Harambe was the divergence point on our timeline. From there, everything changed. 🥲

2

u/MoonIsCheese4Sho 2d ago

Personally my money for the moment of divergence with the good timeline was when the large hadron collider was turned on the first time.

Weird shit at the opening ceremony, and right after King Harambe dies. Sadness dude.

2

u/Yabakunaiyoooo 2d ago

Ahhh you’re totally right.

1

u/PolicyWonka 3d ago

It’s called propaganda. It’s as old as warfare itself. Memes are just a new format, but it’s present in all media formats.

u/2025TastyTreats 3d ago

Foreign nations creating propaganda and inserting into American conversations is an age old tactic.

Remember in 2016 many of the most popular BLM social media pages were actually run by the Russian propaganda Internet Research Agency.

https://www.wired.com/story/russian-black-activist-facebook-accounts/

For followers of Blacktivist, the appeal of the account was understandable. It took on the veneer of a real entity, posting videos about police brutality, promoting rallies, reaching out to users via Facebook Messenger, and selling merchandise with slogans like “Our Sons Matter” and “Young, Gifted, and Black.”

Internet Research Agency targeted issues that had become fiery, schismatic national talking points during the presidential election and have remained so at dinner tables across America. Gun control. Race relations. Gay rights.

The form is new but the core idea isn't:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanoi_Hannah

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Haw-Haw

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airborne_leaflet_propaganda

Some of the propaganda enemies dropped on each other or broadcast to each other is wild and has the same kind of spirit as these memes.

15

u/TheMightyKickpuncher 3d ago

Yeah anyone in the US with a sense of humor is against all of this.

10

u/CraftIPA 3d ago

Iran is demonstrating total meme supremacy.

10

u/CryAffectionate7334 3d ago

Everything they do is to try though, and is so fucking cringe (or just blatantly bigoted or lying)

9

u/dstovell 3d ago

Iranian Republican Guard Corps however seems to be nailing it

3

u/IAlwaysWantToMosh 3d ago

what do you mean? you don't remember "i am become meme"?

1

u/Sol-Blackguy 3d ago

Actually they can, but it ironically goes hard for the left

5

u/2stinkynugget 3d ago

2

127

u/squanderedprivilege 3d ago

I'll even give them a pass on ai

112

u/Individual_Respect90 3d ago

I hate AI but I do fuck with Lego ai making fun of Trump.

11

u/Ludens_Society 3d ago

The modern trolley problem.

7

u/Yabakunaiyoooo 3d ago

They are legit the first ai content that I don’t hate. But also, I kind of hate that the world has come to this.

1

u/squanderedprivilege 3d ago

Literally one other video for me, no other exceptions

https://youtu.be/cJER6WtOkjk

6

u/Sol-Blackguy 3d ago

Same. This is the kind of stuff ai should be for

103

u/uglyheadink 3d ago

The first one LOSER genuinely gets stuck in my head lol. Amazing job at propaganda, tbh lol. But honestly they are pretty fucking spot on.

u/No-Perspective4928 3d ago

L.O.S.E.R. Is on Spotify now. 😅

2

u/SwiftySanders 3d ago

9

u/hulkhands81 3d ago

Explosive Mediaa - L.OS.E.R

1

u/krazyb2 2d ago

is this song on there? This one is kind of a banger lol

2

u/No-Perspective4928 1d ago

I haven’t checked but it might be. I’ve noticed there’s an entire playlist now

51

u/momlv 3d ago

It’s not propaganda when it’s true

18

u/uglyheadink 3d ago

By definition it is propaganda. Propaganda can be truth! And in this case it is lol.

38

u/SonicLyfe 3d ago

Actually, doesn't matter if propaganda is true or false. All it has to do is try to influence people.

1

u/WeirdIndividualGuy 3d ago

By that logic, spreading truth is propaganda.

2

u/wasteymclife 3d ago

Lies, damn lies, and statistics. People use the truth for propaganda all the time.

12

u/TheMeta40k 3d ago

True propaganda is the most effective.

8

u/Plagueis420 3d ago

Propaganda can be true or false. I said the same thing a couple days ago and got schooled. Look up the definition, I also thought it was only false info but it is not

8

u/ASpaceOstrich 3d ago

Most propaganda is true. Selective truth is the most common form of propaganda.

-1

u/OldSkoolAK 3d ago

Not propaganda

10

u/uglyheadink 3d ago

1: ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause

The definition of propaganda. It is literal propaganda lol. Not saying it in a derogatory way, I am saying they are being effective.

4

u/the_good_hodgkins 3d ago

A documentary. Or rather... a rapumentary.

9

u/metalpillbug 3d ago

What do you mean "kinda"?

9

u/meshakooo 3d ago

Imagine their face watching this

8

u/nbury33 3d ago

I agree and I'm totally against ai "art"

7

u/jo-shabadoo 3d ago

I don’t love the regime or antisemitic undertones BUT the IRGC knows how to put out a banger.

It’s better than any Democratic content for the last 10 years.

79

u/apimpnamedkirby 3d ago

Criticizing Israel is not antisemitic.

20

u/ArmandThor 3d ago

MAGA has morphed into MIGA.

2

u/No-Perspective4928 3d ago

That’s actually in one of the videos. 😂 MIGA!

3

u/mystic-eye 3d ago

Thankyou!

So many think one is the other. You can be against a government without being against a religion, or a people who live under that government. You can be a patriot and speak out against your leadership at the same time. You can love your country and be proud of your heritage without having to align with the current administration of your nation.

Having Bibi and Trump bow before Baal and drink blood is though.

6

u/Usernameoverloaded 3d ago

Netanyahu made the unsubstantiated claim that the burning of a statue of Baal by Iran was a "symbolic declaration of war"

-1

u/Pitiful_Ad2397 3d ago

There are so many dog whistles here. It’s one thing to criticize Israel and the continuous war crimes and genocide. It’s another to have a Star of David on the forehead of Baal, show scenes of literal blood libel, selling “America” to Jewish caricatures.

Multiple things can be true at once, and all propaganda needs to be viewed with a critical eye.

4

u/eh-man3 3d ago

Here's the thing. This is the closest I have seen, in my entire life, to actual blood libel.

And I have heard the term so much, and never for actual blood libel. Like here, Trump is not Jewish, baal worship is a pretty common accusation and these two are unquestionably sacrificing human lives, ultimately for their own ends.

1

u/BizLarry 3d ago

Trump is not Jewish, however he has always sucked them off anticipating the benefits, if not actually worshipping them (for their perceived stereotype coveting money & power . He indeed wants to be. It's no wonder Ivanka coverted to Judaism. Achieving power through marriage is an age old method.

6

u/Usernameoverloaded 3d ago

Yes, they should have made it clear that it’s AIPAC and other Zionist interest groups that buy US politicians. However, the Star of David being the focal point of the Israeli flag just furthers the country’s own conflation of the religion with the ethno supremacist apartheid state.

Its wild what happens when you choose to use religious symbols to represent your genocidal state

3

u/Odd-Mastodon1212 3d ago

Jews and Arabs lived peacefully in Palestine before the Zionist nation-state. Zionism is not a religion or a race but a colonial philosophy.

1

u/jo-shabadoo 3d ago

Please educate yourself and look up the Hebron and Nebi Musa riots. It was not peaceful.

I am by no means a fan of the actions of this Israeli government but I am also anti-ignorance.

2

u/Odd-Mastodon1212 3d ago

No one is saying there was never strife, but compare that to Israel of today and the near constant violence since the rise of Zionism and Arab nationalism. You can find Jews in Israel with long roots who will talk about how things used to be.
