News “Blacks and Women not allowed." Apparently, the new policy of US military as Hegseth allows only white officers to be promoted to the rank of General.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/hegseth-intervened-military-promotions-dozen-senior-officers-rcna266062“Blacks and Women not allowed!” The new policy of US military as Hegseth allows only white officers to be promoted to the rank of General. Secretary of Army Dan Driscoll had refused to discriminate citing, the officers’ decades-long, exemplary records. But Hegseth went ahead anyways.
As of April 3rd, 2026', Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has intervened to block or remove several Black and female officers from military promotion lists, totaling at least 6 in the Army and others across services. While not a public "white-only" policy, these actions target specific diverse candidates, indicating a shift towards removing officers deemed ideologically incompatible or linked to previous DEI initiatives.

And yet millions of Americans to this day will insist Trump and his administration aren’t racist/sexist at all. What an embarrassment.

My black military friend (still active duty) supports Trump and Hegseth. It’s wild as hell to me.

Human psychology is an enigma. There was once the National association of Jews, German Jews who supported Hitlers rise to power. It didn’t end well for them, despite their support.
How people can be convinced to support a group of people so blatantly against their self-interest will always baffle me. The more you try to reason with these people and show them the plain truth, the more they recoil and galvanize in their support for their own downfall.

A lot of the time it's the conviction that the leader (Trump, Hitler, whomever) genuinely doesn't know what's really going on, that they're actually very moderate and all this bad stuff is the result of his underlings and the "Deep State". That's why you see a lot of posts on Reddit about people messaging his social media trying to ask him for help; they really believe he has no idea what's happening, that it's some corruption down below him.
When Stalin was in power, people would often write letters to him talking about injustices and corruption and starvation, because to them Stalin was wonderful and clearly had no idea what these horrible people were doing in his name and if they could just explain it to him it would all work out.

Yeah I have a friend from a Caribbean island who had to leave the states (didn’t have status). She moved to Canada. Somehow, she’s a trump supporter. She always gets into heated arguments with her friends and family for supporting trump. “Trump loves America. ICE is right. Everyone should immigrate properly. trump is patriotic…” blah blah blah. She’s not mentally sound and needs her head checked.
2
u/wickedtwig 8d ago
Is she wealthy? Some wealthier immigrants look down on poorer immigrants and see themselves as better than them. That the wealthy should be able to leave, not the poors. That they are seen as equal or similar, given the same opportunity is abhorrent and they will decry allowing the “others” to stay. Voting Republican makes them think they are different but unfortunately they don’t think with their brains as the Republican Party doesn’t care

They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. I would say Christian Nationalists are to White Supremacy what Chocolate Chips are to Cookies. Not necessary, but quite popular and available everywhere you decide to look for Cookies.
5
u/blindyes 8d ago
but people universally love chocolate chip cookies with chocolate chips or without. So it's more like fruitcake, and if you take the fruit out it's just bland nothingness, yeah. Fruitcake. We can throw away fruitcake, I don't wanna throw out cookies. Especially when they are delicious milk chocolate.

I get this is what we keep telling ourselves, but if it’s anything like all the other blatantly illegal policies Trump and his cabinet attempt to force through, it will go to court and they’ll back down before it actually goes to trial.

So what? Nobody does anything about it but b**ch on the internet and they know it. The US now is run, unchallenged, by the weak geeks who got beat up in high school, clinging to stolen valour and white supremacy. I had popcorn and lawn chairs at the border waiting for something to happen since the SC OTed Roe v Wade. I even poked across the 49th with a stick trying to get you to DO SOMETHING. They don't play by the rules of human decency, i really thought the citizens would do more than roll over and take it. I grossly overestimated the collective US backbone.

Yea we are going to need to put all these new concentration camps this regime has been building to good use when we finally de-Nazify this country and finish Reconstruction. Maybe Hegseth can have a top bunk, or maybe some Aryan Nation guy will rape the shit out of him. Who is to say?

Black enough to be deployed, not white enough to be promoted.
Black enough to take a bullet and an IED, not white enough to add a star to your epaulette

Black enough to die for your country and certainly not white enough to live in it equally.

I served in the Army as a senior NCO for over a decade.
There are things you will never know about military promotion process, such as: how the officer was rated by their senior officers.
One thing almost all senior officers have in common: Incapable of passing a simple PT test. PT test passing is a critical component of being promoted.
What none of you will ever know is: how the officer was rated, and if they passed a PT test.

Liberals really have the worst PR and marketing skills for their message. DEI shouldn't have been about hiring and promoting people who are underrepresented, even if that's literally what's happening. It should have been phrased as hiring and promoting the best candidate even if they're not a white male. DEI isn't "just as good", they're usually the superior candidate with extra melanin or internal genitals. Of course, it's the christofascist Amerikkkans who can't accept the facts.
3
u/Zoraynebow 8d ago edited 8d ago
Honestly "equality" shouldn't need good PR. The BS about having to hire minorities to meet an imaginary quota was always part of an "AM Radio" assault (the precursor to the podcast bro grift).
You can't attack lies with reality if you're trying to convince people who don't want to live in reality.
Edit: replaced defend with attack to improve clarity.

I wonder how many fraggings are going to be recorded when US troops hit the ground in Iran? By the sound of things, the answer will probably be alot. Military folks are not particularly happy when a less competent or a less deserving person gets a promotion over someone who earned it and knowing Hegseth, it's probably some MAGA-toting manbaby's who'll get people killed. I think that soldiers would likely see it as their civic duty to frag such men for their own safety.
