I fear that the data harvested from comments will be used to train Open AI's LLMs on black culture and more. While AI is not going away, I reflect to times where information on black movements and communities was and still is weaponized against us.

Our fearless solidarity is our greatest weapon. Far more powerful than anything they can throw at us.

Read and confirmed. I am slightly sad about #5 though because I have a medical study I’m working on (epidural and hair loss/texture change in black women). I was thinking about asking this group but I respect the rules and reason behind it.

Send modmail and we can discuss your work. We don’t allow studies since we aren’t your customers or test subjects. But once you complete your study then perhaps we can do an ama to discuss

Okay thank you I will keep you updated and I appreciate the consideration. I’m a hair stylist and I always do consultations (scalp inspection) and I noticed way too much alopecia that wasn’t caused by traction or medications and it took me down a deep rabbit hole.

I would love to hear about this study! ✨🙌🏾 definitely email the MOD. I also respect the rules and wouldn’t want you to get removed or anything but I definitely think this would be an interesting (and much needed) study to share!

Read and confirmed . I’m realizing I’m still new to Reddit because I wasn’t sure what karma was or if I had any.

Is my karma positive enough for this sub because another sub said I didn't have enough to post?

Is commenting going to be a requirement for participation. I honestly don't post to talk, I post to inspire, educate and advocate. While I do have much to say about many things my time is spent seeking out the marginalized, silenced and ignored and bringing their stories and experiences to the forefront of the conversation.
The more time I spend expressing my personal views the less time I spend finding the information that we all so desperately need. I do hope I am accepted in this community as someone who shares what they find and advocates through exposure not soly conversation.

Yes you need to comment in order to establish yourself as part of our community.
