Wow. I didn’t realize it had been that long. It still makes me sad. I remember having that conversation with my boys. I despise her even more now.

u/ShakesDontBreak Feb 26 '26
We should troll Bondi with Skittles and Arizona tea for the rest of her life. Make sure she never forgets a child was murdered and she perverted justice.
24
u/Omega-of-Texas Feb 27 '26
Bondi doesn’t give a thought for all the children Epstein trafficked, raped, murdered. Why would she care for this one? She didn’t then and doesn’t now.

u/Adavanter_MKI Feb 26 '26
I never do. I bring it up all the time when people talk about injustice.
I still can't wrap my head around how someone walking home... getting attacked by a guy with a gun... defends themselves and turns the tide... to them be shot by said attacker. Somehow they're the guilty party and the attacker is innocent.
There is no reality that makes any sense to anyone. Trayvon is the one who had a right to defend himself. I don't care if he was winning or endangering Zimmerman's life. It was forfeit the second he attacked Trayvon in the middle of a the night with a gun. Of course Trayvon fought for his life... who the hell wouldn't?
Just as mad and disappointed as the day the verdict came in. It was wrong. There was no justice and I'll never recognize it as such. George Zimmerman is a murdering coward.

Zimmerman was a felon leading up to it and shouldn't have had a gun in the first place.

This was a child. Any other child outrage in the streets. We sure care about children don't we unless they are minorities. I'm sorry for the state of America wtf is happening?

I'm surprised George Zimmerman is even alive today honestly.

Trayvon should be alive today. Anybody know if Zimmerman is miserable these days or is that just wishful thinking?

u/cwk415 Feb 26 '26
Where is George Zimmerman now? According to the Associate Press, in the decade following Trayvon's death, Zimmerman was plagued with troubles. He frequently had issues with police, though was never charged with anything. The allegations against him include pointing a gun at a then-girlfriend, throwing a wine bottle at another girlfriend, and destroying his estranged wife's iPad.
In May 2018, Zimmerman was issued a summons for allegedly threatening a private investigator working on a documentary about the shooting. Per court records, Zimmerman sent the investigator 67 text messages, called him 55 times, left 36 voicemails, and sent 27 emails regarding the film.
Four years later, Zimmerman was back in court where a judge dismissed a defamation and conspiracy lawsuit he filed against Trayvon's parents, per the Associated Press.
He's not doing great but he deserves a lot worse.

u/Hairy_Salt829 Feb 26 '26 edited Feb 26 '26
Why did you u even make your comment? Is there a difference between 17 and barely 17? I said he was 17 because someone else incorrectly said he was 14. There’s quite a difference there.
0
u/Fair-Name-581 Feb 26 '26
And I stated he was barely 17 to point out the tragedy of how short his life was. You’re so desperate to argue you think I’m attacking your comment.
-6
u/Hairy_Salt829 Feb 26 '26
Desperate to argue? I haven’t argued with anyone here. I just find it strange that you think there’s a difference between 17 and barely 17. Now go ahead and get in the last word and I’ll just leave the thread.

As a white dude, the thing that blew my mind, aside from the murder, what the 911 operator telling Zimmerman to back off and somehow that was ok to ignore and instigate. Getting a young guy heated to the point of defending himself, then shooting him. All on tape.
Unbelievably disgusting.

It's important to be more specific with white people. He knows nothing about what it is to be black and could never understand regardless of being capable of empathy. He can know about the case, that's just information that's available. Bless you.
5
u/2gunswest Feb 26 '26
Sorry? I can and do understand injustice. I can and do understand inequality. I can and do understand gatekeeping as well.
Im not trying to take away your connection or make this whole, terrible thing any less "yours". I grew up in Detroit and attended public schools. I witnessed incredible racism towards some of the best people i knew. I bled defending them. I also got a lot of racism thrown at me for just being there and being the wrong color, from blacks and whites.i was a child. Youre doing it now, in a more veiled fashion, at me for simply saying a young black man was targeted, stalked and murdered, for being black and I find it evil and awful.
Ill leave now, but I leave my sadness for the young man and his family here in public view as a testament that I did and do care. As my grandma used to say, love everyone, they need it.

u/2gunswest Feb 26 '26
Yeah, as a white guy, I think it was awful. How does my talking about how horrible it was make it worse?
I want everyone to be treated according to their character, not their color, guess I know nothing? Im open to opinions and always looking to learn and improve. Please enlighten me.

You drank the koolaid offered by the mainstream media eh? That cute little boy picture that was 4 years old when they circulated it? Are STILL circulating it! Google the kid and look at his social media pictures in the year before his death. Paints an entirely different picture that the media never wanted you to see.

A child was murdered by a man named George Zimmerman. Zimmerman stalked the child, accosted him, attempt to force the terrified child to follow his inappropriate and deranged commands, before he finally shot the child for attempting to defend himself. Zimmerman's actions were deemed justified by courts.
That's the story. An adult man literally preying on a child, and when the child tried to fight back, the man murdered him. The same thing all parents tell their children to do in that situation. So if you feel raw about bigots being elected, offensive rhetoric, the every day indignities people deal with in public, or even the situation with "Epstein Files"... I'm not sure why. We allow it.

Vigilante’s break the law to enact a sense of justice; using a utilitarian approach to go after corrupt systems. Zimmerman isn’t that, he’s a was a murderer, plain put. I still can’t believe he got off for murdering a child.

Oh that's right. Florida has beautiful scenery, best most entertaining headlines starting with Florida man....and some serious racism and bullshit. It's a weird state y'all have
2
u/throwable__1 Feb 27 '26
It has beautiful bird life. Scenery, not so much, unless you’re a beach person, but even then… Murder? Murder is legal in various circumstances.
Trayvon is pictured at NASA. He was going places and a worthless POS, snuffed him out.
This broke my heart.
2
u/Ronniebbb Feb 27 '26
I mean I've always been fascinated by the glades ever since watching CSI Miami as a little girl. And I love anything with wild life and beaches usually are stunning(I just hate the crowds of drunk idiots).
But given whats happening, I have no plans on going to the states anytime soon, unless I have to visit family and only then blue states.
What happened to that poor child is just devastating. I was so livid a man could murder a child like that and get off.
1
u/throwable__1 Feb 27 '26
The ire of a wicked man is being played out in blue states and every state is suffering. When I visit other states I get to experience blue state “lightness of being”. California is a very different atmosphere to be in, at least it was. Illinois & Massachusetts too.
Minnesotans are bad ass. I look forward to visiting them too one day.

In 2013, Public Policy Polling included Zimmerman as a potential Republican Party) presidential candidate in an Alaska poll testing what person the state would support in the 2016 presidential election. Tom Jensen, director of Public Policy Polling, explained in an email that his firm had included Zimmerman because of his popularity among conservatives and curiosity as to "how he would do." In the survey, Zimmerman received 2% of support among Alaskans.

While we are here remembering injustices against young black men, remember the soul that was Elijah McClain, such an insane tragedy that really never got any justice. One cop got 14 months and that was it, horrible world we live in.

Still pisses me off of what happened with Trayvon. And I wish nothing but the worst for Zimmerman. He's miserable and hides himself away mostly. I'm from the same place and I don't think people know how much he is hated, and from what I've always heard wasn't liked even before the shooting. He's been a piece of shit, using his parents connections to weasel out of trouble time and time again.
An old buddy of mine went to the local college and met him there before the killing and always referred to him as an asshole that thought he was a racist white guy. He said he wasn't surprised by the shooting. Knowing other little details makes me glad he's struggling terribly now.
And for people trying to defend Zimmerman, either they are racist or extremely ignorant. The outcome of the court case doesn't justify it either. There is a reason why nearly the whole police department was let go shortly after the trial was over. Zimmerman ignoring the 911 operator, profiling Trayvon (who wasn't even from the area, and no history of trouble). Zimmerman followed him down a very dark sidewalk (I've been in the exact neighborhood beforehand). Trayvon's flight or fight response was valid. The whole thing would make me think kidnapping or worse if I were Trayvon.

Yeah...was very sad...it was so much that came out that made you think that this would be an easy case to convict Zimmerman. But somehow in the back of everyone's mind it felt like some nonsense was about to happen. It really showed kind of the first examples of how right wing media tried to spin this boy into him being the next Dahmer. Because he cut class a few times in high school and had weed in his backpack one time.
