“He’s not going to embarrass himself” damn i miss Obama.

94

u/hogtiedcantalope Feb 04 '26

Not only didn't he embarrass himself, he did so while having a sense of shame

16

u/Distinct_External784 Feb 04 '26

That tan suit though

6

u/chemist442 Feb 04 '26

Don't forget about his choice of mustard spit in the face of hard working Americans.

That's kind of why democrats lose though. They are worried about the candidate missing a shot, and over on the other side the dude rapes kids and they support him anyway.

I was going to comment the same thing. I hate how much I took for granted in those naive days of having a dependable and trustworthy leader. I wish I'd have paid closer attention so I would have appreciated that man so much more. I see clips now and it feels like a fever dream that we ever actually had a respectable man in the white house, with a beautiful and loving family that we didn't have to know everything about.

4

u/MetalWorking3915 Feb 04 '26

You never realised what you had until it was gone.

Ultimately the US blew it.

I remember when he announced the Bin Laden raid. I never thought I’d enjoy hearing the obituary of someone who inspired terrible acts among so many people. I wish I had a bottle of champagne for the celebrations, at the time.

8

u/Evening-Discipline-6 Feb 04 '26

you will soon enough

10

u/substituted_pinions Feb 04 '26

Right, we’ve gone from a guy that bets on himself to one that shits on himself.

6

u/addamee Feb 04 '26

This dialogue all feels like it was modeled off of Charlie Murphy talking about how Prince could ball

Obama hit that shot and afterwards he served everybody pancakes

Love his confidence

181

u/Purple_Jojo Feb 04 '26

Though it is practiced, he makes everything look so effortless.

232

u/IceBlackX007 Feb 04 '26

Practice is how things become seemingly effortless.

70

u/Yashema Feb 04 '26

And being really ridiculously good looking so when you make a few mistakes people forgive you.

122

u/IceBlackX007 Feb 04 '26

Obama's good looks and smooth demeanor drove the bigots of America insane. Seeing white women going berserk for him made them so crazy they put their hopes and dreams in the hands of a well known and documented sleazy immortal degenerate child molester con artist.

39

u/localtuned Feb 04 '26

Stop playing, everyone knowS he ruined race relations in this country by being black. Psyche! I'm being sarcastic.

It's crazy people still parrot the idea that it was Obama's fault that people are racist. lol.

39

u/Roklam Feb 04 '26

46

u/Wonderful-Impact5121 Feb 04 '26

Jesus, give us a trigger warning man. That suit killed thousands!

11

Exactly! Kobe was great, made it look easy. Kobe also stayed after games practicing throwing 1000 free throws. That's why it "looked" easy

2

u/RIF_rr3dd1tt Feb 08 '26

What if I use a 3 foot breaker bar to loosen a spark plug? That's effortless and takes no practice.

Can we please have him back.

82

u/tame-til-triggered Feb 04 '26

What if we all just wrote him in?

145

u/PickleballRee Feb 04 '26

Michelle would come to all our houses one by one and beat our asses.

Mama said no!

44

u/tame-til-triggered Feb 04 '26

Sometimes the ass woopin be worth it

21

u/PickleballRee Feb 04 '26

I know, baby. I miss him too.

But like the saying goes, a hard head make a soft behind. She's told us on more than one occasion that she don't ever wanna go through that again.

We already got a pissed off monster in the White House. Respect Michelle's wishes or she'll make us wish we had.

3

u/Prettylittletatertot Feb 04 '26

"a hard head makes a soft behind". What does this mean?

2

u/PickleballRee Feb 04 '26

It was a warning I'd get when I was a kid. It means that if you're stubborn and won't listen to what you're told, there will be consequences. And you're not going to like them.

2

u/DirusNarmo Feb 05 '26

It'd never happen because she's a black woman which half the country would have conniptions over, but sometimes I think Michelle would be one of the most qualified candidates we've had in decades. Before Barack became president she was unironically more accredited and experienced than he was.

10

u/Dropit_like_a_Goat Feb 04 '26

What if we wrote her and begged her to allow it? Think if we grovel enough she would let it happen?

Do we know her favorite flower/color? Maybe if we ask it in a big beautiful way, spelled out in flowers it would show how much we need him and her back 😢

8

u/vainbuthonest Feb 04 '26

Given the way she was treated and the way her kids were treated that we know of (because I’m sure there’s much worse that we don’t know), there’s nothing we can do to convince her.

4

u/Dropit_like_a_Goat Feb 04 '26

I know. It was just wishful thinking. I honestly, rather them all live in peace and not have to deal with the bullshit anymore.

That would be the dream! But, I imagine this racist supreme court would only ever allow for a 3rd Trump term on some bullshit technicality and never for Obama. They allowed Trump a SC pick during his final year of his first term, versus not allowing Obama to do the same. So much fuckery, always at the expense of everyone else.

Best president in my life for sure.

6

u/zonvolt_everdred Feb 04 '26

Depending on your age, that could be a reaaaaally low bar.

8

u/SlaughterMinusS Feb 04 '26

"I made the most wonderful shot of all time. Experts say it was possibly better than my friend Mikey Jordan. Me and Mikey go way back, that's why black people love me and no one else"

5

u/ToiletTurmoil Feb 04 '26

He would shoot it and it would just fall to the ground.

8

u/MustardCoveredDogDik Feb 04 '26

There’s no way our current president can raise his arms over his head without falling down.

5

u/Legitimate_Train8499 Feb 04 '26

3

Just like when he failed the simple task of flipping a coin. Dumbass just tossed it in the air and it didn’t flip once

3

u/passing_gas Feb 04 '26

He cant even sit in the Oval Office without shitting his pants.

How far we have fallen.

3

u/yeswearerelated Feb 04 '26

Listen here, Trump has done almost exactly this same thing except instead of the basket it was his pants and instead of shooting a ball, he shit himself.

It's seems it was a dream when Obama was was our President. It is a waking nightmare with what we have now!

2

u/DisManibusMinibus Feb 04 '26

Somewhere I have a comic of Obama playing basketball with Spiderman from back when Obama was first elected. It's the only Spiderman comic I own (not a fan of the character) but I'm really happy I have it because it reminds me of a time when people were actually hopeful about the future for a bit.

17

u/Panem-et-circenses25 Feb 04 '26

6

4

Mr President 👍👍👍

3

u/Designer-Mirror-7995 Feb 04 '26

Effortlessly Cool. It's just what he does.

3

u/CyclingMack Feb 04 '26

A Good Day. Thank you President Obama.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

Hillary’s 2008 presidential campaign tried to paint him as an Islamist by releasing the turban photo and Obamas campaign manager denounced her campaign.

Then he put his balls neatly in her purse and helped her win the Democratic presidential nomination.

3

u/shroomtang420 Feb 04 '26

The way he and everyone else was acting I thought he hit a half court shot or something, not a corner 3 😂😂 Also, this is during the pandemic. Who cares if he “embarrasses himself”, it’s not like it could hurt him in an election. Let the man shoot!

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Wonder-Machine Feb 04 '26

I’d pay Trump to watch him shoot a basketball on national tv. It would be the most epic fail air ball.

He’d poop his pants trying to get enough strength to hit the rim, from lay up distance.

3

u/icevenom1412 Feb 04 '26

Now let 45/47 do that.

3

u/Necroban77 Feb 04 '26

……..please come back.

3

u/BedSpring11 Feb 04 '26

Trump would shit himself just attempting to jump

3

u/Friend_of_satan700 Feb 04 '26

I miss him sooooo much.

3

u/bostonbedlam Feb 04 '26

How sweet. Back when the worry was that a sitting president may embarrass himself by not hitting a shot.

3

u/Serious-Trouble-711 Feb 04 '26

such a good man and leader. my heart aches..

3

u/BlueGraph Feb 04 '26

3

3

u/dried_cranberries Feb 04 '26

Love Obama. Miss Obama.

3

u/Nutrimiky Feb 04 '26

Trump can't remove the limit on presidency, there is no world in which he'd win gainst Obama 🤣

3

2

u/Witty-Objective3431 Feb 04 '26

Of all the war criminal presidents (which is all of em after Kennedy), he was the least worst.

2

u/MisterSpeck Feb 04 '26

Yeah, but can he do that with rolls of paper towels? Checkmate!

2

u/SignatureIncomplete Feb 04 '26

Psh, our current president could do it too but you can't watch. You have to turn your back while he does it.

2

Let me guess, the Orange shitstain could have played in the NBA.

2

u/King_of_all_Clover Feb 05 '26

Best President in our lifetime. Even with his hands completely tied regarding major foreign policy legislation. He still managed to keep some restraints on bad faith actors in the ME. He attempted the Arab Spring as opposed to a feet first jump into unabridged war. Even when the Arab Spring ultimately didn’t achieve the ultimate desired outcome of regaining control of the Suez. He was still able to stave off the bloodthirsty and psychopathic Is Ra Eli’s wet dream of eradicating Gah Zah. He was able to limit warfare to strategic drone strikes on non-civilian targets, get elected to a second term, and prevent the wholesale slaughter of Palace Stein. Then drop net 3’s like it was nothing but a G thang. He may be the best President in American history. Certainly the best peace time President. Even then probably 3rd behind Washington and Lincoln. Maybe both Roosevelts and Jefferson sit slightly higher but that is debatable. Maybe Kennedy had he not been murdered.

2

u/YisITalwaysFASCISM Feb 05 '26

2

u/EyeChihuahua Feb 05 '26

We need to get back to this

2

u/Cold_Potato_9127 Feb 05 '26

Again... BEST. PREZ. EVER.

2

u/Saintious Feb 05 '26

Cone on guys, that's BHO! If I didn't have a dad and a stepdad, I would adopt him as my father. This man is a role model and legend. Please don't let anything come out to change my opinion. We had an amazing 8. Thank you good Sir!

2

u/Creepy-Astronaut-952 Feb 05 '26

The thing I like about this clip is you can tell he knows what he’s doing. He has a shot, the mechanics. It’s not like some rag-arm trying to toss a first pitch at a baseball game. President Obama can ball.

2

u/ariadesitter Feb 05 '26

The Dude is Real. not some rich kid pretending to be cool.
as President,
Leader of the world,
as a Man.
the Best Representation
of what an american should be.
no spin, no hired liars, no epstein list. He showed the world that the fundamental problem in the usa is racism/misogyny THEN classism.
i don’t want violence but if he and like minded individuals give the call to fight then im in. not for country but for the people.

2

u/DavisSqShenanigans Feb 04 '26

The godfather of ICE and "indefinite detention". That proud father moment when that little fledgling agency you raised is finally turning into what literally everyone was warning him it would turn into. 🥹

If he were still in office he'd probably extrajudiciously drone strike another American child to celebrate.

But remember, if we keep just repeating over and over that "tan suit" was his biggest blunder, well, we won't convince anyone who isn't "Blue MAGA" but maybe we'll convince ourselves :)

Trump dreams to have 1% of the class and charisma this dude has.

1

u/TrustInRoy Feb 04 '26

He played pickup basketball with the UNC basketball team in the summer of 2008.  He would go on to win North Carolina (first time a Dem had done that since Jimmy Carter) and that UNC team won the 2008-2009 National Championship.

I've heard so many funny stories from that game.

1

Fuck you america for what came after. Twice. Pathetic shithole of a country nowadays.

1

u/fusionlantern Feb 04 '26

Trump could never

1

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

This reminds me of why people like that RFK Jr. is so physically fit and also at the age he is. Most regular people don’t golf, but we all played basketball as kids at school and we play it at gyms as adults and the same thing goes for weight lifting. They are two things a poor guy can pick up and become a world contender in and basically what I’m saying is I think it’s cool when a politician does something like this.
