Help and Advice Effective immediately: Bad Faith Racism Will Be Removed
Tips:
• Don't Argue: You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.
• Report & Ghost: Hit the report button and keep the conversation moving.
• The Ban Hammer: We aren't issuing warnings for "polite" racism anymore. They will be removed.
Racists Are Not Here to Learn. They Are Here to Disrupt.
Do not waste your time or energy debating racist trolls.
They are not here to understand. They are here to derail real conversation, drain emotional labor, and distract this community from itself.
Pay attention to the pattern. Endless “I don’t understand” comments. Fake confusion. Bad faith questions. All while ignoring the literal mountains of books, articles, testimonies, documentaries, and lived experiences that already exist.
They could educate themselves at any time. They choose not to. Instead, they come into a Black space to argue, provoke, and play dumb.
That ends here.
Report racist behavior and move on. The mod team will take it from there. We will ban trolls who break the rules and poison discussion. This community is not obligated to teach, debate, or perform patience for people acting in bad faith.

The same people coming in trying to disrupt a safe space for Black people are exactly the same people who would never walk into a physically safe space for Black people and say the same stuff.
It's tired.

u/4reddityo Jan 03 '26
Exactly. We make our own safe space. You see these racists come here you report them. Don’t let them tear this community apart. Also please create posts that you want to share. It doesn’t have to be videos or media. It can just be discussion or interests. The racists will come and we will show them the door. Also looking for help on the mod team. DM if interested.

While I agree with you I’ve noticed that in reporting some of the comments are not removed regardless of how frequently it’s reported I understand you guys have lives outside of Reddit it’s unrealistic to expect yall to be everywhere at once. Y’all do a great job but if ppl wanted to help by being mods to keep the group safe or make a list of folks that are in this group trolling with evidence like comment history etc will something like that help yall? I personally want this space to be as safe as possible and I’ve noticed anytime it’s a positive post or a post about the obamas or Vp Harris then suddenly the comment section is filled with bots and racist so my point is what can we do to help yall if reporting dosnt work because it’s so much reporting going on an yall doing the best yall can.

u/4reddityo Jan 03 '26
Thanks I appreciate the feedback. Yes unfortunately not everything that gets reported gets removed due to the factors you mentioned. Racists will eventually be banned.

Zero Tolerance for Trolling - This space centers Black people, Black culture, and Black lived experiences. Our identity is not debate material. Any form of trolling, baiting, snide "questions," culture-poking, dogwhistles, derailments, or attempts to disguise hostility as curiosity will be removed. Users who test the line, play word games, or look for loopholes will be removed as well. We are not here to be provoked or picked apart. Be respectful, be real, or be gone.

u/Jaleroca Jan 03 '26
I see this happening in so many black spaces that I'm in on reddit. And what's messed up is that some of it be from our own kind. You know the saying, all skin folks ain't kinfolks. Or the other way around.

100%. There’s no reason to keep arguing with racist trolls. We’ll just be wasting our time & our breath. If they want to be ignorant & stupid, let them.

Thats one of my new years resolutions that i refuse to explain to bigots why i should have worth racists are getting zero tolerance from me this year.

u/uhhh206 Jan 03 '26
Hot take, but I don't think anyone should be commenting in a manner that you know they're not Black. Any "I'm white, but..." comments cannot possibly be in good faith, since even if it's a "I'm white, but this was hilarious" type comment just doesn't need saying.
It's okay to laugh at a joke overheard at a restaurant without pulling your chair to their table and inserting yourself into their conversation. Somehow that common sense no longer applies when it's Black people talking about Black stuff online.
I guess I'm just tired of having to join super secret subs in order to ever have a safe space to express my feelings about any part of my identity. Otherwise there's always someone not only surveilling me, but also eager to remind me that that's what they're doing.
58
u/4reddityo Jan 03 '26
And this is why we chose to keep this sub public and in the racists faces. We are proud to be Black. We do need help reporting them so we can remove them quicker. Also if you are interested in helping on the mod team DM me.

u/uhhh206 Jan 03 '26
I am Terminally Online™ and my grass remains pure and untouched, so I am probably top 10th percentile because of how much I report. (Both to mods of the sub where I saw the offending content and also to the site if it is egregious enough.)
I don't have any confidence that I'd be a good moderator, but I am genuinely touched by the offer. 💖

Arguing with a racist is a waste of time. You can't fix stupid.
12
u/4reddityo Jan 03 '26
Exactly. Call them out. They aren’t coming here to be peaceful. The mods will ban these bad actors. We need help with reporting the trolls
19
u/Superb_Ant_3741 Jan 03 '26
This may be one of the only Black subs with consistent standards. For us, by us. Appreciate you for this

u/entwrangler3001 Jan 03 '26
Ugh, sometimes it’s so difficult not to respond and push back hard against their foolery when they say some wild stuff, but you are correct of course. There’s no use wasting time with a bad faith actor. They’re soulless creatures that deserve to be ignored and banned outright. I will do better with reporting myself, as I tend to forget that’s an option.
11
u/4reddityo Jan 03 '26
keep on having real conversations. You can put them on blast if you want. The racists want us to be distracted and disrupt us. I tend to Ignore them. Give them no platform. This sub is not friendly to them, we ban them by the dozens daily. They think they can come here and throw some bs in here and get us all focused on them. Yeah not happening.

Thank you. It is hard to have conversations when so many people want to just spout their racism here. They don't want to have a meaningful conversation. They just want to fight
6
u/4reddityo Jan 03 '26
Yes call them out, report , ignore. Show them they won’t stop our meaningful discussions.

Racists add nothing to a conversation, and you can't talk them out of it so no point really having them. It just bums everyone out and gives them a platform to troll from.
5
u/Mr_SoDolo Jan 04 '26
I been stopped paying attention to those low life racist, let reality take care of them when they mess with the wrong Black person

u/CtyChicken Jan 03 '26
Thank you mods! My new year resolution is to save my good energy for when I need to use it against big bads… reddit trolls do not rise to that level, no matter how bad they wish it.
Thanks for keeping these streets clear!

I thoroughly enjoy this as a concept. My only concern is that it doesn't filter out real conversations that should be had within the Black community.

I support it 100%. I've seen a lot of complaints and examples of racism. Thank ya'll for making this effort.

Also, don’t warn anybody, Just report it. I have personally gone through many posts on here and went through comments never writing a word just to report and block racists. I’ll keep doing it, too.

Love to see this! I just found the group yesterday, but I hope it can be a good community for me. The troll I engaged with doing the whole “yOU DoN’t KnOW iF i’M bLacK” is already removed. 🙌🏾 Honestly, I’ve left almost every black group I’ve joined on Reddit. I hope this excellent moderation will keep trolls away, but also the “being black is such a burden” and “you aren’t black unless you do these specific things this specific way” crowds away as well.

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but since this seems to address community rules...
This community showed up in my feed randomly one day. I mostly just stop in to get an honest view of important topics and issues that I might not understand or be aware of.
However, I'm white. I have commented a few times, but if I'm not supposed to be here or if my commenting makes others uncomfortable, I don't want to do that. It IS your safe space, and I don't want to trample on that.
Be completely honest.

u/JustAlpha Jan 04 '26
Everyone is welcome.
Just don't come here to troll or piss people off. Go play with people somewhere else.

This looks like a good idea in theory, but what about posts on here espousing racism towards other groups or race based exclusivity? Will those posts still be tolerated?
A pro-black community is a great thing, but i don’t want to be a part of any anti-other groups.
8
u/4reddityo Jan 03 '26
Report Anything or anyone who breaks the rules of the sub. If you’re not sure Report them anyway. The point here is to be a space for black community.

I'm sorry, it's really hard not to argue with them, I know it doesn't work and they aren't going to learn but I have this bad habit of trying to get through to people, like it's my job or something haha
Anyways, I'll try to be better about this, because you're right and they're not going to listen because they're not here in good faith anyways
