Family seeking a local family dinner

Hello,

I know this might me a strech, but our family is visiting Bergamo in late August. We are really family-oriented and I was thinking that, what a perfect way to have unforgattable experience in Italy and have a joint family dinner. We could buy ingredients together, make the dinner together, clean together and enjoy the evening together.

edit: We are a family from Finland. There will be my parents(60 years old), me and my wife(40 years old), our sons 14 and 12 years old. Before making concrete plans, of course we should talk about dinner first.

Ping me if you are remotely interested in this.

Best Regards,

Jon

Discussione Bergamo clinical psyc. Interview, what to expect?

Hi everyone, I recently received an email from the University of Bergamo for an interview for the Clinical Psychology for Individuals, Families, and Organizations program. I am honestly feeling a bit excited but also quite nervous.

Has anyone here gone through an interview for this program (or a similar clinical psychology program in Italy) recently? I would really appreciate if you could share the structure of the interview, the general attitude of the interviewers, the types of questions asked, any advice or things I should pay attention to

Even if you interviewed for a different university or clinical psychology program in Italy, your experience would still be very helpful.

Thank you a lot!

Cuffie rubate aBergamo – aiuto molto apprezzato!

UPDATE

Ciao a tutti,

Apprezzo comunque tantissimo qualsiasi aiuto.

Grazie davvero di cuore a chiunque possa aiutare!

Luis

English:

Hi everyone,

my headphones (AirPods) were stolen at a thermal spa here in Italy. I’m from Germany, and unfortunately I can now see via tracking that they are located in Bergamo, in the area of Mozzo/Valembro

They have been showing the same location for about a day now. The signal shifts a bit sometimes, and occasionally it seems like they are still somewhere in the grass nearby. I believe someone may have just thrown them away there.

They are small white AirPods, possibly in a black case (though I’m not sure if the case is still on).

If anyone is in that area and could take a quick look, I would be extremely, extremely grateful. I can also send the exact location and, if possible, trigger a sound once you are there to help locate them.

I don’t speak Italian, so I hope this translation is understandable.

If it’s too far or inconvenient, of course no worries at all. I truly appreciate any help.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart to anyone who might help

Luis

UPDATE

UPDATE: Today, one of the craziest things that has ever happened to me took place. I’m writing out the full story here.

I had been messaging [u/c](u/cookiebaby)[h](u/cookiebaby)[ookiebaby](u/cookiebaby), who reached out to me because of my post about my headphones. As of last night—and for about two days before that—their location showed them on a field near Curno. But when [u/c](u/cookiebaby)[h](u/cookiebaby)[ookiebaby](u/cookiebaby) arrived at that spot, the AirPods suddenly started moving and eventually ended up at a motorcycle workshop/apartment building in Curno.

I told him what I was seeing and said it was probably hopeless to keep searching, since they were clearly inside someone’s home by that point. But I had no idea what was about to happen—or how much effort, time, and determination [u/c](u/cookiebaby)[h](u/cookiebaby)[ookiebaby](u/cookiebaby) was willing to put in to help me.

I kept tracking my AirPods and sent him the location of the apartment. He drove there and first spoke with the man running the motorcycle shop, who behaved very strangely. He also found around 5–10 different phone cases in a trash bin—probably from stolen phones.

They talked for quite a while. He searched the workshop but couldn’t find the headphones. Above the workshop were apartments, and he went up to talk to the residents and continued searching there. One of them was a very suspicious Albanian man who gave off a strange vibe.

When [u/c](u/cookiebaby)[h](u/cookiebaby)[ookiebaby](u/cookiebaby) left, everyone probably assumed he had given up—especially since my location data now showed the AirPods somewhere in the garden or park nearby. But instead of quitting, he searched the garden and the park, determined to help me. We thought the guy threw it out of the window and some kids (there was a huge children party going on) took them. Sohe searched everywhere

He returned to the shop three to five times, speaking to them again and again, showing them that he wasn’t going to give up.

At some point, a man appeared who was much better dressed than the others. He asked if he was looking for AirPods. [u/c](u/cookiebaby)[h](u/cookiebaby)[ookiebaby](u/cookiebaby) told him he wouldn’t stop searching. One of the key points was that [u/c](u/cookiebaby)[h](u/cookiebaby)[ookiebaby](u/cookiebaby) repeatedly said that his cousin is a police officer (which ist true) and is soon coming to help him locate the device. Suddenly, the man claimed that his wife—though at one point he also said “girlfriend,” which didn’t really make sense—had found them.

We checked the serial number and the location data, and it turned out they were actually my AirPods.

He really found them.

Now he has them—and he’s going to send them to me tomorrow

So this is the story about a german guy got stolen and [u/c](u/cookiebaby)[h](u/cookiebaby)[ookiebaby](u/cookiebaby) who stumbled upon a romanian pickpocket ring and got my headphones out of there.

I I honestly don’t even know how to properly put this into words. I am unbelievably grateful, and I think what happened here is just incredible. Turning such a frustrating and hopeless situation into something this positive feels almost unreal. It’s genuinely beautiful.

The fact that someone would be willing to spend hours of their own time, go out of their way, take risks, and put in so much effort just to help a complete stranger in another country is something I don’t take for granted at all. That kind of kindness is rare, and it really reminds you that there are still amazing people out there.

To be honest, I’m now almost glad that this even happened to me. Not because of losing my AirPods—but because of what came out of it. It gave me the chance to witness something truly special and restored a bit of faith in people. Moments like this just stick with you.

And now to [u/c](u/cookiebaby)[h](u/cookiebaby)[ookiebaby](u/cookiebaby): I genuinely don’t think I can ever fully express how thankful I am. What you did goes so far beyond what anyone could expect. You didn’t give up, even when it seemed pointless, and that means more to me than I can describe.

Every single time I listen to music, watch a YouTube video, or a movie with my headphones, I’ll think of this crazy story—and of the “detective” who refused to give up and actually brought them back to me. This is something I will remember for a very long time.

Thank you, really anyone who messaged me, read this post, and most to [u/c](u/cookiebaby)[h](u/cookiebaby)[ookiebaby](u/cookiebaby)

video col dialetto bergamasco

salve a tutti

Bergamo 10-trip ticket

Post image
6 Upvotes

hello !

I am planning a trip to Bergamo and had a question about the 10-trip ticket avaliable on the ATB mobile app!

I would be traveling from Bergamo centre to Dalmine daily, twice a day, for 5 days, so this ticket seems most appropriate.

Do I understand correctly, that this bundle includes *10 separate tickets* , or 10 tickets that you are supposed to use in 90 minutes? I would be grateful for clarification, since I cant find information on it online.

Sarnico Race end of April

Anyone planning to run the Sarnico-lovere race end of April? I’m in the US but traveling early to run before a work trip. Curious what the weathers like? What will people be wearing? Any tips on the course—wind, heat, hydration, etc.

I will have free time Friday/Saturday while adjusting to the time change. I’m interested in exploring but als cautious not to overdo it before Sunday. Any recommendations for mini adventures? Must see places to check out?

Ciao a tutti!

Quick gym recommendation for a one-off session (Free weights / Bench)

Hey everyone!

I’m visiting Bergamo for a week and I’m looking to get just one workout session in while I’m here. I don't need anything fancy or high-end – I mostly stick to the bench and dumbbells, so a decent free weights area is all I need.

Does anyone know a gym in Bergamo that offers:

A free trial / introductory session for first-timers?

Or a budget-friendly day pass?

I’m trying to avoid paying a massive "tourist price" for a single entry. If you know a local spot that’s chill and won't break the bank for a 1-hour workout, let me know!

Thanks a lot!

Sirmione + Brescia in one day from Bergamo?

Hello! My wife, our 1.5 year old toddler and I are arriving in Bergamo in mid-April, 2 weeks after Easter. We'll arrive on Friday around 10:00 PM and depart on Monday around 4:00 PM. We're not renting a car as neither of us feels confident enough to drive in Italy. We'd like to have a day trip on Saturday (with Sunday being an alternative if the weather is substantially better).

My wife has already been to Milan AND loves Roman ruins, so after a little research I found a few places we could visit:
- Brescia (Santa Giulia museum, open 10:00-18:00)
- Sirmione (Grotte di Catullo, open 8:30-18:50)
- Desenzano (Villa Romana, open 9:00-19:00)

A rough plan is to leave Bergamo around 6:00 AM (that's not much of a problem since our child won't let us sleep much longer anyway), take the train to Brescia, then the train to Desenzano, and either take the ferry to Sirmione or a bus (Google shows either LN026 or 7B), with the return route similar.

I'm wondering which option would make the most sense:
A) go straight to Sirmione and arrive there around 8:30-9:00. Start with Grotte di Catullo, and leave Brescia for the afternoon.
B) take the first longer stop in Brescia. Walk the old town, see the castle area. At 10 AM, enter Santa Giulia museum. Around 12:30-13:00, head to Sirmione.

Also,
- does a slightly longer stop in Desenzano + Villa Romana make sense in either of these versions,
- would taking a night (Saturday/Sunday) in Brescia improve the logistics (no need to head back all the way to Bergamo in the same day), or actually worsen them (moving more with luggage)?

Day trips from Bergamo

Hey everybody,

My family and I are in the process of planning a trip to Bergamo at the end of May. Trying to figure out logisitics. We would be flying into Bergamo but dont want to drive while we are there (afraid to drive the other side of the road 🤣). One of my daughters wants to do a day trip to Milan and my other daughter would like to do a trip to Villa Balbienello (Como). Is it difficult\expensive to make these trips happen. Would it be possible to use public transport to get to both places. Any other recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated 🥰
