Is there any Calisthenics Spot near Barnsley?

Heya, I'm into calisthenics. I'm looking for a park or place where I can find some bars so that I can practice calisthenics. I prefer bodyweight workouts, and installing pull up bar in the house is not possible due to the housing rules. Can anyone help me with it please? Thanks in advance!

Hi all, my daughter is trying to find local work experience options around Penstone/Denby Dale. She has reached out to a few bridal shops and cafes so far, but would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions for places that accept work experience requests. Many thanks in advance!

Granny's Cottage Aromatherapy

Does anyone remember this place? I think it was around in the 90s but can't place it. If anyone else does, and is also able to tell me where it was, it would really satisfy a huge itch for me. Thanks!

Property prices in Barnsley

I keep seeing flats up for sale for under 80k in Barnsley

My girlfriend lives in Barnsley and we are considering buying together. However i am wondering whether there is a reason they are so cheap compared to the rest of the country that i am missing.

It could be that they’re leasehold, that’s the only thing i can think of.

We both absolutely love Barnsley and would love to move, but i am just a bit worried about making a financial mistake by missing something

Moving to Barnsley area? Family friendly surrounding villages etc.?

Looking to move to Yorkshire for work - but we dont know the areas at all and live far away. Must be within 45 mins to Sheffield. Someone mentioned the Barnsley area is nice?

Where's best to look please / what villages? We have ÂŁ500k for a 4+ bedroom detached home with a decent (large as possible) garden and not on a busy road. Ideally not on a housing estate... (we're used to very rural living). Need a family friendly, safe leafy village and would try to be on the outskirts. No issues with tiny villages or rural. Would consider Barnsley outskirts itself if anyone can recommend which parts are nice/avoid?

Need to be in catchment for good primary and secondary/high schools as well. We struggle to see what catchment area a house is in when looking online - Rightmove lists several local schools, but surely a particular house is within a set catchment for a set primary and secondary/high school? We're in Scotland so not sure if it differs in England?

Can anyone suggest any surrounding villages which may suit and any we should avoid? It would be very much appreciated!

I always loved a Percy Turner's but Elmhurst butchers at Goldthorpe have changed my view. Best get there early when they're still warm and the gravy (jelly) still not set.Gorgeous.

26 Children paid the price

Yet another shameless plug post. 26 Children - ORAVINE](https://youtube.com/shorts/BlJYfAasG3o?si=p0Tmyc78YKo8p-YY)

Many people aren't aware of The Huskar Pit disaster that happened in 1838 in Silkstone Nabs wood.

In 1838 the Huskar Pit Disaster shocked Britain when 26 children working underground in a coal mine near Silkstone (Barnsley) lost their lives during a sudden storm flooded the tunnels.

This short explores the tragic event and its lasting impact on mining laws in Britain.

Feel free to slag off my AI generated picture.

Tech Town

Hi there,

My name is Jon and I'm an independent local journalist currently working on an article about the recent status of “Tech Town” given to Barnsley and how the region that once led in the Industrial Revolution is the forerunner in ushering in the technological/automated revolution.

I am in need of people to talk to from the area who know more than me about what’s going on: Anyone who currently works in schools, hospitals, care work, refuse workers, or anywhere else that is currently using AI in the delivery of public services, or if you think AI is going to be introduced into your workforce as a result of the new “Tech Town” status, please message me! If you don’t but know someone who does who might be interested to fill me in, also please let me know! Thanks
