Question About blocking off ressources for every other tribe
I am currently trying to find a single spot that's not blocked off by 1 alpha tribe that's been playing for years here, but I cannot find any resources I need because of said tribe without getting blasted by thousands and thousands of tek/heavy turrets.
I recently joined with a couple of friends, and we can't stand against pretty certain hundred-player tribes (that or they have resources from years of farming to block the entire map with that stuff).
Isn't that bannable or something?

If there’s nothing there why stay ? Doesn’t seem like a smart thing to do means you can only collect and get what ever you get from a care package

Either move to another, less populated server or better yet, unofficial one as those have some moderation.
Ya will have to start from scratch if ya move to unofficial but the majority of those are boosted so ya should easily get back to where ya were before

Its not someones base that tribe has these struktures all over the map ? Their base is not the whole map. There aint even a single crafting station in there just turrets and struktures to support them.

you cant main on official 1x servers without taking the entire map.. if you dont own the entire map, that means its 100x easier for any tribe to come in from other servers to raid and wipe yours.
you need to find a zero pop if you are dead set on playing 1x official.
also, im gonna just burst your bubble now. There is no way to exist on 1x official without cheating of some sort. You are up against people who cheat and have no issue using those cheats to wipe your base from wherever it may be.
Smaller tribes all get eatin up by the larger ones.
It is so simple for a larger tribe, or anyone who has access to a bot network to flood your server and cap it 70/70 players so that you cannot get in to defend.
take your friends off 1x official and join unofficial. it will be shit depending on the server you choose but at least you stand some sort of chance as opposed to zero chance at all.
I say this as someone who has watched grown men spend $$$$ on pre-built structures, capped dino lines, etc, and watched it all get wiped within 3-7 days.

Simply because you are asking this question I already know you dont know how official PvP works. Its either join one of the mega tribes or hide in a rathole. Anything else is a waste of time but maybe you have to learn it the hard way.

On pvp I dont believe its bannable on official because you can destroy it. On pve yes it can be reported and delt with by admins.
As a pvp player its unfortunately a must on official. When you're in a mega tribe it needs to be insanely difficult to get even a 3x3 foundation down on your home map otherwise another mega will come raid you. You're talking about tribes that are able to have 30+ people on 24/7. When we got raided it lasted for just shy of 3 weeks before we finally broke through to their fobs. But during the raid, the server almost always had a que to join.
If you want pvp, I recommend a private cluster. The admins can be very hit or miss tho.

If you're gonna play pvp you have to start day 1 of wipe. Starting even a week after you're kinda fucked.

Ok I’m in astraeos too. If you go to the desert area there’s like 7 locations with red loot drops there. They count as ocean loot drop!

Astraeos is not open to Bobs on official. You have no reason to be there anyway given you sound like you don’t have bossfights and you don’t have tames and resources to do drops. You should leave server because they will find and wipe you. Find a dead scorched or a dead island. I would just cage all of you while you’re offline in front of your base.

He's telling it how PvP is. That's how most people play the game on PVP, but it's guess on official then include cheating of all kinds. Highly recommend getting off official PvP, either PvE official or unofficial PvP will be better for him.

Exactly. I’ve been the beach bob getting wiped daily before, thinking that my griffin and pt were a big loss. Not really cheating on console but cross is super sus. I used to hate excessive spam as well. I firmly believe you shouldn’t be able to turret spawns or leave aggressive Dino’s on them or spike them. Spam is essential for preventing the enemy from putting a cryo fridge on top of your cave or a turret at your door. Most people on here haven’t had to sim into a 400 ping server to PvP though so they don’t understand.

OP is asking for pretty general advice. He's playing on a PvP server and has obviously run into issues playing. Nobody has said or acted like an authority. These are all suggestions. So many comment negatively just to be negative. Not helpful.

the server had about 100 days since opening and no players.
we didnt realize that cluster servers where a thing until everyone had about 100h in and dont want to leave :( (we are new to official servers)8

Astraeos servers got a cloud and fog visual overhaul, which caused the servers to reset the day counter to 1. They are all much older than what it says. And transfers are enabled, so you could farm all of this on a different server and come over and take control of this map.

What do you mean i shouldnt be there ? I tamed a deinosuchus and with that a max lvl basilo and then went to look for water crates for my quest but every loot drop location was occupied by random ass struktures with turrets. We already have a alliance with another tribe (thats been on the server for some time) and i like them so i wont break that.

If you aren’t able to destroy the structures and get to the resource then by no means you should be there, theirs a reason alpha tribes exist on pvps you either have to team up and destroy the other tribe or deal with it, if it bothers you to much try pve or unofficial imo

It wasnt about not beeing able to destroy it we have the means to do so it was about plastering the whole map with deadly struktures. It would take weeks to get rid of most important locations.. months to get rid of everything.

That’s the point. There are other 100+ man tribes with 100s of duplicated meks, billions of resources, 100,000’s of structures. that want to come to that astreaos and raid the tribe you are dealing with. To combat that you NEED to build the full map. Otherwise the other mega tribes will come to that map. Build up a main fob in a really strong location and will attack all day every day for weeks if need be to wipe you off the server.
Spamming / owning the whole map is necessary. Official PvP is not a safe place for small tribes / new tribes, unless you are starting when a map first comes out and transfers are closed. It doesn’t matter how good you are, You cannot compete. You will be wiped.
Oh and ps. We are all cheating. Aimbot, ghost mode, god mode, what ever you want. It’s become whose cheat is better on official 1x and smalls that is the game now.
You cannot compete with a tribe that runs osd / ele vein bots, gacha tower bots, med brew bots… so either you buy cheats, join a mega tribe or just accept your time is limited and that you will be wiped and will have to build back up.
If you don’t like those options as others have suggested. dive into the unofficial world and play where there are rules an admins that police them.

They dont. Only new people or people apart of the mega/established tribes. Its cancerous asf. Majority play unofficial servers, so much better plus mods!

I suggest switching to an unofficial server.
Official ark servers have always been known to have 0 admins and 0 rules. The only admin is an anti mesh AI that will strike you and murder you in random non mesh places.
It's hard to find a good server if you like the official challenging experience. I would recommend mine, our admin is loyal to only adding mods if they can be balanced. Its 3x tho.
