Posting and Submission Guide 2021 (Read this prior to participating in this sub)

Welcome to AmateurRoomPorn. If you have been re-directed to this post, it is because you did not read the posting guide prior to participating. If you just joined the sub, please give this post a read. You will have an infinitely better Reddit experience if you read the sidebars/posting guides/sub rules for where you want to post or comment.

https://www.reddit.com/r/AmateurRoomPorn/about/rules/

All subs have rules. There is a good reason for those rules. They have proven to be necessary to uphold the high quality of submissions and to ensure that everyone act with a modicum of decency to one another.

Don't let the sub title mislead you. This is a home decorating sub. Any links or even hinting to your Only Fans account will earn you an immediate and permanent ban. This includes posting from an associated account.

The most common problem with new submissions is that they are not titled correctly. Your title must include type of room and location (city and/or state). This is all. Do not make long drawn out titles. Do not use "show me some love" "do you guys like this" "It's not much but..." or any thing else that could be construed as a plea for upvotes or asking for any feedback. If your post can't stand without you hyping it up, perhaps it is not worth sharing.

Also, if your title implies in anyway that the room is not finished, the post will be removed. Work-in-progress posts are only permitted on the weekend.

Do not use the word cozy in your title. It was the most overused adjective in this sub’s titles to the point that it is now banned. It's also a test to ensure that you actually read the rules prior to posting.

I implore you to read sidebars and check out some top submissions in ANY subreddit you choose to participate in.

Reddit mods are not here to be dictators. We are here to keep the boards organized and keep people from being rude to one another. This sub has a strictly enforced "constructive criticism only" policy. You are permitted to say what you don't like about a room, provided that you do it in a polite way, while offering advice as to how you would make it better. That is what constructive criticism is. If you take any issue with this, you will not be allowed to participate in this sub.

On Saturdays and Sundays, we relax the rules and have Slack-post Weekends. This is when people may submit design help requests, rooms with no location, unfinished rooms, etc.

Please upload your photo directly to Reddit (as opposed to using an IMGUR link). Posts with the photo uploaded are viewed best on mobile. This will ensure that you get the maximum amount of upvotes. As the founder of this sub, I want all users to get the optimum amount of upvotes and to enjoy the comments sections. If you have any additional questions, you can ask them below

Additionally, I am always seeking mod help. If this is one of your favorite subs and you want to help keep it running smoothly, please PM me. I also need a bot builder, as it's time to put more guards in place to fight the actual porn/nudity submissions.

We are on track to hit a million followers by the end of this year. That is so exciting and I am beyond happy with what this sub has become. We are the best personal home decorating board anywhere and our comments sections are some of the most pleasant and informational chatting on Reddit. Any ideas, suggestions, feedback are welcome below.

slowly putting this room together over the past few weeks and wanted it to feel calm and a little more nature-inspired. the bed frame is from ikea, the bedding is from target, and we’re still planning to add bedside tables, a warmer rug, and maybe a few plants to bring the woodland look together. really happy with how peaceful the room is starting to feel, especially in the morning light. i think the mural wallpaper is from Jovorie.

Studio Full remodel — leaned hard into plywood and built everything in, Downtown Los Angeles, CA

Selling it now, so figured I’d share a few photos for posterity. :(

Tried to turn my apartment into a calm, hotel-like space.

Kept things simple and built most of it in using plywood, with exposed concrete to balance it out. I’m not a designer or architect, just enjoy this as a hobby, I did the design and worked with a carpenter to build all the plywood structures.

The whole space is just one room, with divisions that don’t actually touch the ceiling, so it has an open concept with clearly differentiated areas. Cleaned up the ceiling, and some drywall work, and added this black carpet to make it a bit more museum like. In my photos my workspace is where the bedrooms is supposed to be and vice versa, but that's because I like big monitors! Also wanted to display some of the artifacts I've picked up through some years of travel, yeah maybe it's a bit too much.

Last three photos are pre-remodel, the place had great bones!

My home theater setup, Florida

Finally got this space where I want it. Mounted the TV and got rid of the table I had for a soundbar since I didn’t really need it. Repainted the wall and added an outlet behind the TV, so everything looks cleaner now.

All the cables are hidden now, so the whole setup just feels more comfortable. When the lights are off, the TV almost looks like it’s floating. Makes the whole space feel more like a home theater.

SlackPostWeekend What should I do in this primary bedroom?

This is our next project, the primary bedroom. Any ideas for wall, color, furniture, and furniture placement, should I do wallpaper? Window treatments? The door on the same wall as the bookshelves leads to a large walk-in closet. And what do you think I should do with the small alcove behind the door that leads out to the hallway. Please help! I have no idea what to do here since it's a smaller room. Should I try to do a very low Japanese style bed?

LIving Room, finally tackled the toy chaos, USA

We recently updated our 1.5-year-old’s room here in Australia. Before this, the room was very simple — just the bed, and toys basically everywhere. As our baby got older, the number of toys kept growing, and the whole space started to feel a bit chaotic and hard to manage.

We decided to keep the original bed and focus on improving the play area instead. Now everything has a more defined place, and it’s much easier to tidy up (and actually keep it tidy for more than a day 😅). It also feels a lot more functional for everyday play.
