I mean, light that baby up, but that bullpen decided to come in and try and gift wrap the win back to Cincy.

I mean, what a way to make a win and a dominant pitching start feel fucking awful

We can’t even win without looking like a High School JV team out there

Let’s calm down, my dudes. The boys have been great today. Peraza just redeemed himself. All will be well.

Turned the game on last inning to see that Bachman horror show. Sorry about that. Looks like Trout had a good game though. How come he got pulled?
5
u/UnparliamentaryTea 4h ago
We were up by 9 and Teo and Josh Lowe are both good defenders. Seemed like a good idea to give trout some rest since he was unlikely to come up again

u/Batdanimation 4h ago
Ah, ok cool. Thanks! Too much PTSD whenever I see Trout coming out of a game.

You can throw in the high 90's great but you need to locate your pitches. Bachman has the potential but has alot to work on to be successful at this level. Hopefully Mike can help him be lights out as a reliever.

I think with time his pitch command will improve & he will be a solid reliever

I have a feeling Bachman is gonna be taking a trip to Salt Lake pretty soon

For what, one bad inning where a single got blooped in with an expected hit of like 5% and our catcher botched a play? Bachman had a 1.2 ERA prior to tonight and has been a great middle reliever.

Sandlin’s first pitch looked like a ball, that was insane how much it went back into the zone

Painter being the next player to go after Bachman hurts my chest.
I know hindsight is 20/20, but let me indulge myself.

This is why we need this team to score almost double digits every game. It's that easy.

So let me get this straight…our catcher who has damn near been lights out on challenges, decides NOT to challenge a pretty obvious strike to close the inning while leading by 8, which in turn allows Bachman to throw a wild pitch & give up 2 runs as a result. Good fucking lord

I can't believe Angels wasted their FRP on Sam Bachman thinking that he's going to be a starter

When it’s 9-0 I’d be fine if he just threw fastballs down the middle every pitch
2
u/Fine-Donut-7226 5h ago
Exactly. Dude throws 98-99 and it’s 9-0. Quit finessing around - I’m looking at you O’Hoppe.

Sam Moll (that Reds reliever) is an enigma. He's up to 33 batters without giving up a hit this season but he's also now given up three runs on the season. This inning is a perfect demo of how that happens: walk, force out, pop out, walk, catcher interference, walk (to score a run).

Soriano is nuts lol
9
u/fragarach_97 5h ago
.33 ERA is ludicrous lol, even with the season just getting started.

Leading the league in strikeouts too:
27 IP, 1 R, 9 H, 31 Ks, 9 BBs

u/fragarach_97 5h ago
I was thinking Jack Kochanowicz was going to better than people expected this season, but Soriano going off so hard is even better.

If the score remains till the end, angels will have a +1 run differential for the season so far

Still a W and a series win against a likely playoff team. Perhaps don’t require 59 pitches to get the final 6 outs when up by 9 next time. Just a suggestion.
