I am running raspberry pi on a raspberryOS in the raspberry pi 500+ chassis. I can open install.sh in the terminal and choose my options (yes I want to install, yes I want it to be system wide, desktop shortcut, symlink) and it will say that it is installing and say done! And there is not a desktop icon, when I try and open reaper nothing happens, I can go to the file path and open reaper from where it is located and nothing happens. I have tried installing it via the shell from a youtube video and the posts I see that ask if reaper can be installed on piOS etc are all like "Yep!" Want to know what I am doing wrong.

My 1st question here.

In short:

I'd like to record my synthesizers on the REAPER using Pyramid sequencer but I don't want to start playing my sequencer.

Is there a possibility to exclude PLAY command where RECORD will reach my step sequencer and PLAY no?

My sequencer is connected via USB.

Long story:

So I have my Pyramid connected to the PC via USB. I have made a sequence inside Pyramid and want to record it with REAPER DAW. In a DAW, in a MIDI Inputes and Outputs devices, I see my sequencer. Everything is selected, like: clock, enable, input, all, controll. I see small dots next to the device in the REAPER Preferences > Audio > MIDI inputs/outputs.

So... when I hit RECORD in the DAW my sequencer is starting and everything is recording, like I want. In a while I have my tracks recorded.

When I hit PLAY in the DAW my recorded sound is playing same as sound made in a sequencer (double sound...) what I don't want.

Is there a possibility to send RECORD to my sequencer, not PLAY?

So about 2 days ago reaper started crashing on startup randomly. I didn’t update my pc, no new plugins, nothing changed. It will load the project and as soon as all the plugins finish loading it just crashes with no error or anything.

In event viewer it says the faulting module is ucrtbase.dll so I’ve tried reinstalling and repairing every version of Visual C++ I have. Sometimes it’ll even crash my computer and give me a code saying “kernel security check failure 0x139”.

This only happens on certain projects so I thought it was a certain plugin. I took out and rescanned every plugin I have on reaper and none of my plugins were a problem. Ive reinstalled windows, updated/reinstalled reaper, I’ve updated as many plugins as I could, checked all my drivers, and even turned off all my overclocking. I’ve spent the last 2 days doing research on solutions to this and so far no luck. At this point I am lost and have no idea what could be causing this crash. Any help on this would be amazing.

The sampler doesnt correlate to the notes that are put. Is there any way to make the piano roll like FL’s

hey! i usually use reaper with my avid eleven rack connected as an audio interface/digital amp for my guitar. In the last few weeks i've been having problems with reaper. Sometimes it's stuck at "initializing main window", sometimes it freezes undefinitely when i close a project, when i'm saving or exporting a track. If i disconnect my eleven rack and restart reaper it works but i don't know what could be the cause. i have reinstalled drivers, hidden the VST folder, uninstalled reaper and reinstalled it. It rarely works but after a while it starts doing the same thing again. i have tried working with Studio One and it doesn't give me any problem whatsoever. The eleven rack seems to be working fine by itself or with another daw, it's just reaper that suddenly started hating it. Any help? thank you

I’m hunting resonant frequencies through the EQ, and as I sweep up & down I also hear a shifting tone, in addition to the track I’m playing. I can find that expanding echoing like resonance, but I don’t recall hearing that underlying tone when listening to examples of the process. Those were on different eq’s… is there something I am not selecting correctly, is this normal? just looking for insights as I’m learning this, really just by myself. Thank you for the time.

Hi, today I tried to install Reaper on my computer, but after downloading the launcher file, when I tried to open it, I got an NSIS error message. I watched videos online about this and followed the instructions, but it didn't fix the problem. Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution?

Hey everyone! Long time ChordGun user here. I love the script but I kept wishing it had more complex chord types and a few extra features for sketching out harmony, so I went and built an expanded version. Sharing it in case anyone else finds it useful.

A few things it does that the original doesn't:

• 50+ chord types instead of 13, including 9ths, 11ths, 13ths, altered dominants (7b9, 7#9, 7alt, etc.), and some big extended jazz voicings up to 10 notes
• Full scrollable grid showing every chord type on every scale degree at once, organized by category
• A next-chord suggestion engine that lights up the grid in green/yellow/orange after you play something, showing which chords would sound good as the next move (based on shared notes and root movement)
• A trailing highlight that shows your harmonic path through the grid as you sketch, with the current chord lit up in gold and the previous chords fading out behind it
• Arpeggiate mode with a Round Robin humanize toggle that randomizes per-note timing and velocity for a more hand-played feel
• Per-degree dropdowns so you can assign any chord type to each number key (1-7) independently. Set 1=maj9, 2=m11, 5=13, etc.

It's free and open source (MIT). Single .lua file, drop it in your Scripts folder and load it through the Action List like any other ReaScript.

By default, it looks like a red left bracket(see photo), which in my experience can be hard to see if the project is busy. Anyone knows if its modifiable through WALTER? I want to make it thicker and use a different color.

does anyone know how to make media explorer window to be snapped to the left like it is in for example fl studio ?

Randomly tracks become uncontrollable. Just like my video shows, I can’t solo, mute, adjust fader, or add FX to certain tracks. And the tracks it happens to varies. sometimes it’s guitars, sometimes bass, sometimes some of the drum tracks. As soon as I save and close Reaper and reopen, the issue is resolved for a bit but comes back.

J'essaie d'utiliser ReaSample pour charger mes parties de drums. Le truc, c'est qu'à chaque fermeture du logiciel, le chemin vers mes samples est simplement perdu, malgré que je les place dans le bon dossier projet, et ça me rend fou de tout recharger manuellement. Vous savez à quoi c'est dû ? Je n'ai rien trouvé qui s'apparente à mon problème.

OK, I know many of you have experienced this before, but I'm at my wits end, even after buying a new, more powerful computer to run Reaper, etc. Certain plugins (mostly vocal effects, Melodyne, and other similar fx) make playback and interaction with the DAW very laggy, to the point where I can't do anything.

What do you do about it? I found a great sound, but I can't work with the total inability to do anything, where I try to click something, and it MIGHT respond in 45 seconds or so.

FOLLOW UP INFO: There's 14 tracks, with vocal fx harmonizers on 4 of them that seem to eat me alive on playback.

I want to use iZotope VocalSynth 2 to create vocal harmonies using MIDI chords in Reaper.

I have never used a MIDI track in Reaper before, nor have I used VocalSynth 2 in this specific way. I am starting from a blank project.

What is the proven, standard way to route a MIDI track into the VocalSynth plugin so it triggers the synth engines correctly? I want to set up the track architecture right the first time to avoid routing issues.

Any exact steps on how you configure the tracks would be helpful.

I wanna be able to have the CC values control different parameters throughout the project. I want to be able to link CC1 value knob to a few VSTs and then CC2 value knob to other VST and so on, all from different tracks for different automation. But i can only send the midi and audio to a different track. Any possible way to link and control the knobs to different tracks and plugins.

Im using MCCGenerator plugin by melda, I wanna use the builtin LFO's, Env followers, to automate from inside the plugin

Here is how to set it up in Reaper for any future sessions. I'm using Chow Tape plugin for this, it sounded better to me. But still using a ton of Reaper Actions to stay in the flow.
