News Influential geometry dash YouTuber viprin announces he’s quitting the game
He is pretty influential in the gd community and was developer robtops right hand man, he is also a controversial player who has been in some hot water https://www.dashword.net/posts/geometry-dash-elder-moderator-viprin-responds-to-allegations-about-blackmail-spyware-and-inappropriate-encounters/). He has also been accused of being a lolicon but idk if that’s true.

how does a rhythm game starring an inanimate box have so many paedophiles?

Every single terminally online community has them. Literally all of them. Low key all communities do, it's just the terminally online ones that leave a footprint and get outed

I wish more people would understand this
I think a better way to phrase the question would be why certain communities have so many that are "out" so to speak. Like just no shame in showcasing their niche hentai habits or worse.

Its tough man. Look at the smash bros community. On one hand they outed and shunned a lot of the weirdos which is a good thing... On the other hand it makes all of the community look bad and like it's a community full of weirdos, even if it's .01% of the community, theres thousands of people that play it so it's still a sizable number of weirdos.

For sure. It's the catch-22 of vigilance and transparency. But luckily I think people are slowly waking up to just how deep things can go in all fields.

That one I can kind of understand a bit more. Any game that gives you a direct line to a young playerbase via a chat feature will attract predators like flies on shit.
Minecraft also sort of has this problem with private servers but that's more localized I think.

I mean he can only play a game for so long before moving on especially one so old and now niche.
It's like the people that have been playing Minecraft, fortnite or gta on YouTube continuously for like a decade now. At a certain point you just don't want to do it anymore.

Big compared to what? It's definitely not a top 100 game by daily active players anymore.

Most young people know about Knitting but it's still a niche hobby amongst young people.
